Azoush Tourist Guesthouse

Very disappointing experience. The room we received looked significantly different from the photos presented on Booking.com. During our stay we found mould in the bathroom, visible dampness and water damage on the walls, stained and poorly maintained surfaces, and a generally neglected condition of the room. The refrigerator was dirty and several areas showed clear signs of long-term moisture problems. In addition, there was loud drilling and renovation work taking place during our stay, sometimes before 7:00 a.m., which woke us up and significantly affected our ability to rest and enjoy our holiday. This was never mentioned before arrival. Another unpleasant surprise was a 3.5% surcharge for card payments. Before arrival I specifically contacted the property to confirm that card payment would be possible because we did not have enough cash with us. The property confirmed that card payment was accepted, but never informed us about any additional fee. We only learned about the surcharge when it was time to pay. After returning home I submitted a formal complaint to Booking.com and provided photographic evidence. The owner rejected the complaint and refused to offer any compensation. Booking.com reviewed the evidence, was unable to reach an agreement with the property, and ultimately provided compensation from its own funds instead. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this property.

Właściciel hotelu jest super!! Pomocny, dobrze zorganizowany, zaopiekował się nami jak trzeba. Zorganizował nam wspaniałe wycieczki, dobrze wykarmił. Pokoje czyste i blisko wody i plaży. Bardzo polecam. Ceny konkurencyjne a niczego im nie brakuje.

Тихо, за исключением ежедневных призывов к молитве с находящейся рядом мечети в 5 утра. Чисто. Удобная кровать. Встретили у пристани по прибытии, довезли до пристани при отъезде. В день отъезда предоставили завтрак на час раньше обычного в связи с ранним отправлением катера. Сытные завтраки и ужины.

All staff were amazing. Super friendly and super helpful. Breakfast was big and very tasty! Such good value for money. Well worth trying the dinner. We had it twice and it was definitely the best 2 meals we had on the island. Wish we had it more. The manager was happy to give us a lift to the beach which is helpful as it is a bit of a walk. Overall really happy with the food and staff and is amazing value for money.

Rooms were a bit tired, bit rough around the edges and could do with some decorating. Some mould in our bathroom. As the week went on however we didn’t really care as the rest of the stay was so wonderful. The overall feel of the place made this not important.

Организовал нам отличную рыбалку — мы поймали много рыбы и получили массу эмоций. Также возил нас на красивую пляжную косу и всегда забирал обратно, всё было очень удобно и без лишних забот. Сам гестхаус простой, но полностью оправдывает свою цену — отличное соотношение цена/качество. Отдельно хочется отметить питание: еды было очень много, всё вкусно и по-домашнему, мы даже не успевали всё съедать. Мы остались очень довольны отдыхом и атмосферой этого места. Обязательно вернёмся именно сюда и с радостью рекомендуем всем, кто ищет тёплый приём и душевный отдых на Мальдивах!

Breakfast was plenty, Wifi was fast, Owner was nice in helping me finding alternatives after the public ferry was not going. Payment with card was possible in the end.

I was not staying in this guesthouse but was brought to a different appartment (silver beach). The room per se was nice but there was this heat even with AC coming from the living room outside in. Also this bird which was a pet I guess of the family living there was insanly loud. Exchange rate to local currency for payment is quite bad.

Jesteśmy zadowoleni że wybraliśmy Azoush, obsługa zapewniła nam komfort w trakcie całego pobytu. Czuliśmy się bardzo zaopiekowani, super kontakt i pomoc na każdym kroku. Śniadania bardzo dobre i codziennie różniły się lekko. Zapamiętamy nasz pobyt i napewno kiedyś wrócimy. W naszej pamięci pozostanie napewno pan manager, uśmiechnięty Coco i pan kapitan Wahid!

Location, responsive and friendly staff that was available from early morning to late night. Site manager was always willing to arrange private tour or provide pick and drop when required.

Персонал старается во всю. Любые просьбы, помощь всегда будут оказаны. Нас всегда возили и забирали на пляж по запросу - это очень удобно.

Полотенца для пляжа в лучшем состоянии, чем для тела. Если вы брезгливый человек, рекомендую взять с собой свое полотенце. Дают всего 2 полотенца, не понятно, что с этим делать женщинам с длинными волосами? Мы попросили 2 дополнительно, нам дали, но ни разу за 2 недели их не поменяли. Уборка тоже не супер, пока не попросишь, не уберутся. Не ежедневная точно. Завтрак максимально однообразный каждый день. Ужин в целом тоже, порция просто огромная, если вы любите поесть, то голодным точно не останетесь. Плюс рыбу очень странно готовят, как будто она пережаренная, в общем не очень вкусная. Рядом мечеть, но она вообще не напрягала, если хороший сон в принципе её не слышишь. Зато в объекте размещения идёт большая стройка, о которой никто не говорит и готовьтесь к тому, что в 7 утра вы будете просыпаться от того что долбят по металлу. Ещё один неприятный момент был с экскурсией, когда нас повезли на корал Гарден и были очень сильные волны, и по факту экскурсия не состоялась, так как плавать было невозможно, логично было повторить её в нормальное время, так как она была оплачена, но её не повторили и деньги за её проведение не вернули.

I think it’s the only accommodation on the island available at this price. If you just want a bed and a bathroom, go for it, it’s good enough. The staff are friendly, honest and helpful. Decent breakfast! It’s not a hotel for your honeymoon, though, but they neither pretend nor aspire to be that. The place is just worn off after many years. They’re building a new one right next to it and once the new one has been completed, they’ll probably renovate the old one. So just appreciate there is a decent option for a good price available, or book elsewhere if you need something fancy for the occasion.

Basic accommodation in the middle of the village. Its location its convenient. The staff and the manager were very welcoming and provided us with a great stay, driving us to the beach, to the harbour and booking our speed boat transfers, We booked excursions with them and everything was smooth although the excursions are higher priced compared to those of other islands. Breakfast and dinner were very good with lots of food.

The room needs to be repainted and especially sheets and towels were too old and stained.

The hotel owner is rebuilding everything, so in the future it will probably look totally different considering this is the oldest hotel on the island. We had a good time, the owner organized our arrival and departure to the island and even drove us to the bikini beach. The staff was very friendly in general.

The manager is very rude. It seems like he has never done this work. In communications before arrival, he was unclear, and answers came after numerous reminders. Compared to the excursions his prices are unfairly high. I suggest going to the diving center on the island, which has cheaper prices for the same service. The breakfast food is of low quality. We will definitely not return to this accommodation again because of the poor value for money, and I do not recommend it to anyone.

Owner is very friendly and helpful. Can get you cheaper excursions than on local agencies.

Rooms are spacious, but dark, humidity on the walls, generally the entire facility requires refurbishments. Towels and linens were clean?”, but already faded, with stains and wholes.

The food, the staff, the price and clear room.

It was a simple but perfect accomodation, the staff was very professional, hard working and kind. The room was clean and comfortable and the home made food was warming and delicious. Over all, this is a perfect accomodation for spending some days in the Maldives.

The area is great, although at the moment there is a construction zone next door. After having a huge discussion, not the owner, but the "manager"/staff was really friendly the upcoming days and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible, even though his hands were tied by the decisions of the owner, he offered us free transportation to the beach or prepared some sandwiches with vegetables for breakfast and still was smiling and friendly at all times. The staff was also very nice.

I am super disappointed. The payment conditions state that the hotel only accepts cash in local currency or USD and does not accept card payments. Paying online in advance was also not possible. I then wrote that we are from Europe and do not have USD, but would bring Rufiyaa. The only reply I received was a short "Ok." Upon arrival, the manager told us he would prefer credit card payments instead of Rufiyaa (the local currency is very unpopular among locals) and would also accept Apple Pay, etc. But since we had already withdrawn the money in local currency — with fees, of course — we wanted to pay with that. The exchange rate was then calculated at 18 instead of the 15.4 indicated on Booking/bank rate, which meant we ended up paying 90 EUR more just for paying in local currency. Additionally, I had arranged my transfer independently, which was booked for 50 USD per person per way. Later, the accommodation informed me that they had also booked the transfer for me. On the speedboat, the captain told me to pay at the hotel. The hotel then charged me 55 USD, which was another 20 USD on top. When we arrived at the room, we found that instead of the family room we had booked, we received a single room with a French bed. Of course, we confronted the manager, who told us that if we didn't like it, we could leave. There was nothing more he could do other than offer us free dinner.The towels were dirty, we paid a lot more, and we did not even receive the room we booked. If I had known this beforehand, I would have definitely booked elsewhere. The owner now says that if we can't get USD, it's our bad luck. I find this outrageous. I have been traveling to the Maldives for 10 years, I love to stay at simple accommodations. I never experienced something alike. It is simply a complete scam, and I am certain that they insist on cash payments precisely to rip off guests. We wanted to cancel, but we couldn´t get our money back.

Very well managed guest house. Has all basic amenities and cleanliness. The manager mr samanta corordinated right from the airport pickup to drop and guided us at every step.he and and other staff worked round the clock for comfort of guests. They even went out of the way to cook indian dishes as we were not satisfied with the European dishes . The breakfast was great too. The most important part was the price of excursions which was a fraction of what they charge at resorts. We had a great trip because of Azoush hotel and it's staff.

The manager and staff really went above and beyond to guarantee we have a pleasent stay. The food was a lot and really good. Also the island is one of the most beautiful on the island. If you are looking for a welcoming home in the Maldives this is the place to go!

The staff were lovely, very attentive to our requests. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good.

No soap in the bathroom and the toilet seat was broken. The food was mixed. We had a nice breakfast buffet one day, the other day everything was served up on the plate in one go, so itv was a huge plate that combined sweet with savoury, some of which I would not have chosen if it was a buffet. We also had one evening meal there which had 3 cards - pasta, rice and potato - but very little vegetable!

Best trips ever. Tried dolphins watch, coral garden, batfish feeding, Innafushi, mantha watch. The staff that took us to the trips was really expert and prepared. Very good balance between price and quality. Huge amount of good food. A big "thank you" to Saman: always very kind and helpful.

It is our 2nd time in Maldives and we stayed in Azoush for 3 days. The guest house is located in Fulhadoo, Baa Atol, which is a sanctuary for a lot of marine life. It is 2 hrs by speedboat from Male - away from the touristy local islands. They have a beautiful resident reef and an area where you can see manta rays, sea turtles, colorful fishes and white sandbars. The local island is very peaceful, pristine and doesn't have much of a nightlife if you want your own private retreat. The highlight of our trip was actually our experience with Azoush guesthouse. Saman and his staff went above and beyond to provide us a memorable travel experience. They encouraged us to go on day trips and provided us reasonable prices as they have their own boat for excursions. The fishing trip and swimming with the manta rays that they have suggested will always be one of our core travel memories now in Maldives. They have a very generous breakfast plates, provided us with the complimentary fishing trip meal, coconut drinks and coffee when they feel that we need it after a long tiring day. They took us to the local beach with their golf cart and made us a short phone video on the fishing excursion that we had. The guest house is still currently 3 stars and there is an ongoing construction to make it a 5 star hotel. The room is spacious, a typical local Maldivian guest house and is very comfortable. The mosque next to it might be loud in the first early mornings but will be a music to your ears, later on, signaling the start of a new day. They have a stable wifi connection but on and off tv cable connection. You are on a trip on this beautiful island to disconnect and experience a new culture, right? This is truly an example of a 5-star service and experience without overspending. Everything is done perfectly and exceeded our expectations from communication with the hotel, during our stay and leaving that beautiful island.

Perfect time, great service and great atmosphere. Helpful staff, clean rooms, delicious food and very large portions. I definitely recommend it.

Really good location right in the middle of the island, close to shops and a great little café. The breakfasts were a good size and enjoyable (too big for us to finish!). Rooms were clean, comfortable, and bathroom was spacious. Would recommend Fulhadhoo even just for the amazing beach! It's a decent 20min walk through a beautiful sandy path, but well worth it. The guesthouse was kind enough to taxi us along in their buggy. We arrived on the island on the local Dhoni at 7.25am, had reached out to ask if we could leave our bags at the guesthouse before check-in at 2pm, but they went above and beyond and already had our room ready which was a lovely surprise.

From entering the guesthouse, excursions were mentioned almost immediately, not a huge issue (and expected in most places), but when touching the wildlife isn't just offered, but encouraged, it quickly changed the mood. The gentleman trying to sell trips was very proud showing us a video of a previous guest lifting a turtle out of the sea, and others reaching out to "stroke" mantas. You don't need to look very far to find out why this is totally unacceptable, but I'm not here to lecture. We decided there and then we wouldn't be doing any excursions with Azoush. On our second morning, excursions were pushed again as we came through for breakfast. They have a large TV in the dining area and decided to start playing their "Azoush Productions" videos of the trips they offer. Again, lots of touching with not a lot of respect for the nature and environment, with almost comical shots of previous guests struggling to swim. One of the trips was "Octopus Hunting". Killing things for fun isn't something that's on our vacation list, but each to their own. Watching tourists trying, and mostly failing to spear an octopus to death multiple times, before proudly wearing the poor thing on their shoulder is not something I expected to see while eating breakfast. We're no vegans, but if I'm going to go hunting for my dinner, I'd ask someone who knows what they're doing to land the killing blow rather than subject any animal to that torture :-(

First I’ll like to start with the island itself, we’ve been on a few local islands and private resorts in the Maldives but Fulhadhoo it’s absolutely spectacular,we swim with dolphins, manta , play with stingrays, stayed on the uninhabited island/ innafushi, went big game fishing, the jungle and the remote beaches on the island are absolutely amazing, one of the best experience of my life Walk around the village and you can find locals that can take you tor all the activities privately and cheaper then the offers from the guesthouses The room was nice and big with good AC, nice big tv and good wifi , good location and they offer free lifts to the beach

The food was poor, repetitive and with little taste, we had full board included but sometimes we eaten in other restaurants because of being fed up with the same foods The staff are staring at you while your eating and it gives you a weird feeling Activities with them are not cheap and it’s much better to go with a local guy as it will be private, cheaper and he will do everything for you, I even driven his boat as he didn’t mind

The food is tasty and the service is nice.

The room does not have WiFi for the first two nights and then the manager kindly solved the problem. If there is a machine for credit card, that’s even better.

If you're looking for a paradise in The Maldives, search no more - Azoush Guesthouse on Fulhadhoo island has it all. Starting with the island itself - here you can relax on a beautiful, long, white sand bikini beach with a gorgeous spot for sunset watching and experience wild nature in a palm tree forrest. It's very cosy and people are extremly nice, always offering a smile and 'hello'. As for Azoush Guesthouse, it offers everything you could possibly need and more, from attentive service, a helping hand whenever needed, to arranging excursions and adventures such as manta watching, snorkelling, and visiting a uninhabited island of Innafushi. Great guesthouse, great personnel Really want to return to Azoush! Room was nice. Guesthouse area was also good. You can use free bikes, very convenient because bikini beach is 20 minutes walk. But bikes are old, just get used to them :) We had breakfast and dinner. Dinner was exceptional as for me. Really tasty fish! If you need to buy some snacks - there is a store just around the corner.

Very responsive host! Wonderful room with a climate control. Very clean. You can take a dinner for 10$ right in the gusthouse. Nice open air rest zone with lovely hanging egg chairs. Billiards. If you want to see wild Maldives and empty beaches Fulhadhoo ie a great place for that.

As far as this guesthouse is the oldest on Fulhadhoo the bathroom equipment is quite old and not presentable, but it works what is enough.

Amazing island, we felt like we were alone on it. Guesthouse is great, delicious food (a lot of fish ale seefood), beautiful space aroud the Guesthouse where you can rest from the sunbathing. Nice and quiet. The personel really friendly and helpful.

Everything was perfect!

The staff is very friendly and helpful, there are great excursions for snorkeling, dolphin watching etc. The food was decent but some meals can get boring after some time, as for the food fish were amazing. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious, and equipped with AC. There's a shop open almost all day right next to the guesthouse which was a plus too. As everywhere on Fulhadhoo the beach and the ocean are very close :) For this price I think it's the best place to stay on Fulhadhoo

Exceptional staff. They will help you with anything. Reef fish on the menu every evening. Such beauty and peace on the island. The shore line is untouched and the jungle path is so atmospheric. Thank you 😊

When you have the opportunity to stay on a real Robinson Crusoe Island, and a famous French explorer was shipwrecked there in about 1602, there is nothing to complain about!!

It is always about the people in the end - and in Azoush guest house you will meet the most friendly people you can imagine, who will do maximum for your convenience. Great prior-arrival communication via Whatsapp, organizing direct speedboat from airport 65 USD per person (2 hours), pick-up in port. Clean room, cleaning upon request. Very quiet island with long beach, clean water. Guesthouse organizing snorkelling / fishing tours - highly recommend!! Wifi stable, but can be slow in room. We had room with balcony. Three meals per day - very delicious, breakfasts ok (eggs, sausages, beans). Sometimes you can choose a meal, sometimes not. Visited for 5 days during honeymoon in Sep 2022.

Mosque is literally next-door, so get ready for praying at 5 am, but after 2-3 days you will get used to it. Quite bad noise isolation - you will hear everything what is happening outside your room, but anyway it is pretty quite neighborhood. Wifi a bit slow, can be not sufficient for video-calls.
