Breakfast was magnificent

The host was so lovely. Had very good knowledge about places to go and things to see but the best bit was his breakfast, it was amazing.

Fabulous breakfast. Beautiful old style rooms and furniture. Anthony was really wonderful host. Nothing was too much trouble.

It would be nice to have a bigger double bed.

A lovely old property owned by the present family since the early 1950’s. The decor was in fitting with the property with pictures of the present owners family members on the walls. It sits next to a river & close to many bars, all within short walking distance. Anne & Anthony ( owners ) are a lovely couple. They made you feel very welcome, they have a great knowledge of the area & gave many suggestions of places to visit. The breakfasts were superb, the omelettes were to die for, the full Irish breakfasts again excellent, homemade marmalade ( yum ), freshly cut fruit & pretty much most beverages available anytime. Unfortunately we didn’t get to try their restaurant but I’m sure the food was excellent.

We enjoyed visiting this town and Staying in the Riverside Guesthouse. Anthony and His wife treat each customer as an individual and makes time to help everyone and went beyond hosting expectations so that me and my kids felt at home and made hot chocolate for my wee ones. We arrived in the town for 1 evening on our way to Connemara. We had an additional suprise that the Mayo Winning Football were imminent in their arrival to bring the Cup to the town which Anthony communicated to us well in advance. Their was a massive stage one side of the Main St with music and entertainment awaiting the team arrival. We had a ball!! It was lovely to hear about the family long history of the ownership of this Beautiful Guesthouse. Breakfast was fab, We would definately stay again.

L’ospitalità dei proprietari. Dimora del 1800 in stile old english, tenuta bene. Posto tranquillo Colazione abbondante. Il proprietario ha indicato molti posti da visitare nei dintorni.

Classica stazione di sosta, in ottima posizione, in un villaggio a pochissimi km dall' aeroporto di Knock. Ambiente caratteristico e curato. Ottima pulizia, la camera era molto spaziosa così come il bagno. Davvero accogliente e simpatico il proprietario, che ci ha preparato una colazione buonissima à la carte. Nonostante la posizione sull'incrocio principale del villaggio, non c'è stato alcun fastidioso rumore.

Mancava il tappetino doccia in bagno (probabilmente una svista) e nel bagno stesso mancava aspirazione e la possibilità di aprire la finestra, per cui l'umidità della doccia rimaneva nel bagno o si diffondeva in camera. Un piccolissimo disagio che penso si possa risolvere con pochi accorgimenti.

Para alguien que viene de otro país tiene la sensación de ser un sitio muy típico Irlandes. Mi vuelo era muy temprano, antes de la hora oficial del desayuno, aún así, me prepararon el desayuno, muy rico por cierto, creo que lo mejor de la estancia.

Llegué alrededor de una hora antes de la hora que había anunciado por Booking y tuve que esperar sobre 1 hora hasta apareció alguien para darme la habitación. Envié aviso por Booking y un número de Whatssapp que había en la puerta, aún así no conseguí contactar con nadie.

Sin duda alguna, Anthony. Amable, dispuesto a hacer todo lo más fácil posible. Una maravilla de persona.

Bueno, por decir algo, la finca es muy antigua, por lo que tiene los inconvenientes propios de su edad: escaleras, pasillos estrechos, suelos irregulares, agua con poca presión… pero también forma parte de su encanto.

This was a really great stay. Anthony was a lovely person that you really wanted to talk more with. His knowledge and passion for bringing a very nice breakfast experience was a great surprise. Anyone interested in food and delivering an irish taste experience will have a great conversation with Anthony. Its a must stop at this 200 years old Guesthouse next time in Ireland!

Breakfast was good, lots of choice if required. The location was good for me. I would stay there again if in the area. It was also a bonus to be able to make a cup of tea, if required.

Anthony was a great host. Explained everything well and he upgraded my room without prompting which was nice. Breakfast was excellent. Home made bread, home made jam and marmalade and everything cooked to order. It was excellent

The shower is a bit small for a gent of my size Didn’t have a hair dryer in the room but Anthony pointed out it was in a box at the end of the corridor! I do like dark rooms so with the early mornings now in summer it was a bit light in the morning It would be good to have an extension cable as there was only one socket for the laptop so I had to move down the room Overall only small niggles

Anthony was an excellent host, welcoming, friendly, and a great chef! The rooms were very clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. Very good breakfast - perfection! There was a lovely pub called Murray's just down the road, and it's a stone's throw from Knock Airport

The town itself is a rather tired and shabby. No restaurants open on a Monday evening!

Costruzione piena di fascino. Verissimo che, almeno nella nostra stanza, "pareva di scivolare". In effetti l'antica costruzione a graticcio non ha permesso di "mettere in pari" tutti gli ambienti. Ma non disturba affatto, anzi. Gli ambienti comuni sono apparentemente angusti? Vero anche questo ma la casa è fatta così!!! Ottima colazione e grande capacità del proprietario nel mettere a proprio agio i clienti. La cittadina non offre molto; alle 20 siamo dovuti andare a cenare nel ristorante cinese (che non consiglio) perchè tutto il resto (poca roba) era già chiuso da tempo.

L'auberge, bien que situé sur la rue principale est calme est possède un certain charme du passé. Parking gratuit dans le rue devant. L'accueil est très sympathique. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié.

Pas grand chose à faire dans le village. Le soir il faut reprendre sa voiture 5 min pour aller manger.

This guesthouse is centrally located in Charlestown which is approx 8km to Knock Airport (Ireland West). The 200 year old house is filled with antique furniture and memorabilia and has rooms located on several levels reachable by winding stairs. The room was comfortable and clean with a large ensuite shower/dressing room. Breakfast was excellent with an varied menu and cooked to order. The town has some traditional pubs where we also received a good welcome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and had no complaints. We travel regularly through Knock Airport and this is an ideal location for those taking a morning flight.

Lovely traditional Irish guest house. Anthony and Anne were the perfect hosts. Anthony was very helpful with providing info about getting a taxi from the airport sharing numbers of the locals. The room was clean and warm with iron, ironing board and toiletries provided. The full Irish breakfast was spot-on and a request for an omelette instead of a fried egg was no bother, it was so fluffy! Perfect place to stay to lay your head and a grab a tasty breakfast in the morning. Would book again ♥️

Anthony and Anne make this ideal rural b&b what it is with their Irish charm and hospitality. A great location for the base needed to attend a family funeral. Anthony could not have been more accommodating in facilitating the moving of beds around rooms to accommodate our part of 5 relatives staying for 2-3 nights. Our entire stay was extremely pleasant with a superb breakfast. Special requests were delivered with the best omelettes switched out from regular eggs and tomatoes instead of mushrooms. Home made bread and preserves made for lovely special touches. The mini scones at breakfast were delightful too. Rooms were clean and had everything needed. I would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to others.

Anthony and his wife were very welcoming hosts, Anthony was more than willing to give us breakfast xtra early. Breakfast is superb - one of the very best we've got anywhere. 10/10

Our room was at the front of the house, traffic going up and down was noisy, only because it was very warm and we needed to keep one of the windows open. With the windows closed this would not have been too much of an issue.
