Belle chambre, spacieuse, propre, lit grand et très confortable. Très bon petit déjeuner, excellent repas du soir, mention particulière pour la cuisine et la cheffe Arrie qui nous a servi une cuisine raffinée, d'excellente qualité et un service irréprochable. La cheffe est à l'ecoute du client, et très avenante. Terrasse bar agréable.

Nous étions seuls dans l'hôtel......ambiance particulière. Extérieurs de l'hôtel un peu à l'abandon, dommage ! Piscine pas entretenue....nous n'en avons malheureusement pas profité. Le wifi défectueux selon les endroits de l'hôtel.

The personnel was very kind and supportive all the time (reception, cleaning, kitchen). Everything was very clean. It was quiet, we could rest without disturbances. We were allowed to do the checkin before the official time, this was very helpful after a long flight.

Relatively old facilities, they need maintenance, mainly the swimming pool. Breakfast could have more options. If you dont have a car, be aware that you would need to walk about 10 minutes to the public beach, it is not a lot but you can feel it under the sun ;-)

Der Betreiber hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen, war stets für seine Gäste ansprechbar. Zu Heiligabend gab es ein köstliches und reichhaltiges Buffet. Die Lage der Unterkunft ist sehr gut, nur wenige Schritte zum Strand und zur Bushaltestelle, sehr gut sortierter Supermarkt ist ca. 300 m entfernt. Man findet in der Umgebung auch etliche Restaurants und Bars, die wir aber nicht genutzt hatten. Der Pool war sauber.

Es war alles gut.

Die Nähe zum Strand und Supermarkt war super! Mein ursprünglich gebuchtes Einzelzimmer war nicht zu bewohnen bei meiner Ankunft und ich musste in einer Woche 2x das Zimmer wechseln- glücklicherweise war das aber möglich und man hat mich in anderen , deutlich größeren und weiter ausgestatteten Zimmern untergebracht. Das Dinner war immer super lecker und nett in der großen Runde.

Die Bilder entsprechen nicht der Realität. Hätte ich im Einzelzimmer bleiben müssen, wäre ich sicher abgereist. Frühstück war nicht „gehaltvoll“ oder gesund bis auf das Obst. Ansonsten helles Brot, zuckerhaltige Müslivariationen und auch der Naturjoghurt hatte Zucker. Sonst nur Baguette , helle Brötchen und Gebäck frisch aufgebacken. Muss man mögen… meins war es nicht

Un peu désuet

Die Lage war ausgezeichnet wenige Minuten zu Fuß von einem traumhaften türkisen Strand entfernt. Die Sauberkeit war für Mauritius-Verhältnisse sehr gut. Man konnte jederzeit Trinkwasser entnehmen. Das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich, insbesondere die Obstauswahl war sehr umfangreich. Das Abendessen war kulinarisch herausragend. Bezüglich Abendessen ist zu erwähnen, dass ein definierter Zeitpunkt hierfür vorgegeben wird und man mit anderen Gästen einen großen Tisch teilt, wodurch am Abend eine sehr ausgelassene Stimmung entsteht. Das ist nicht jedermanns Sache, uns hat es jedenfalls sehr zugesagt. Das Hotel wird noch bis Mitte 2026 von einem Belgier geführt, dementsprechend kann man europäische Standards erwarten.

Das Zimmer war sehr eng und stickig, es entsprach nicht den Bildern auf booking.com, zudem gab es Ameisen im Zimmer, die uns aber nicht gestört haben. Im Bad gab es kein Fenster, generell waren die Fenster (und die Türe) nur auf einer Seite des Zimmers, wodurch ein Durchzug nicht möglich war. Der Pool war nicht zu gebrauchen, er war permanent von der ansässigen Tauchschule okkupiert und war zudem sehr verwahrlost. Das hat uns aber nicht gestört, schließlich hat man das Meer vor der Türe.

J’avais déposé de l’argent dans le coffre de ma chambre 4, chambre solo. Le coffre ne fonctionnait qu’avec une clé que j’ai gardé avec moi. Le jour de mon départ, après avoir bouclé mes valises, j’ai récupéré le contenu de mon coffre, et il manquait 750 euros en billets de 50 euros !😡😡😡 Le responsable de l’établissement, Denis, affirme qu’il n’existe pas de clé de coffre pass, ouvrant tous les coffres….

Bra frukost. Väldigt bra middag. Trevlig personal. Jättebra service när det gäller utflykter. Bra läge.

Dåligt underhåll av rummen, handdukshållaren och toapappershållaren satt inte fast i väggen ordentligt. Det var lösa fjädrar i sängen som stack ut genom tyget, väldigt vasst! Dörrhandtag lossnade från dörren osv.

Accueil et disponibilité du personnel. La situation géographique et moyens de transports ( bus et taxi) proches de l'établissement. Petit déjeuner et repas du soir de qualité avec des repas typique qui permet de partager des moments conviviaux.

Le matelas est confortable pour une personne mais à deux dès que l'un bouge il réveille l'autre. Obligés de garder les double rideaux fermés pour conserver un peu d'intimité. Pas de voilage. Chambre donnant côté route bruyante. excursions à l'hôtel plus chères qu'au bout de la rue. ex : 2500 à l'hôtel pour une sortie bateau, 1900 chez les TO au bout de la rue

Ma chambre plein de cafards, pas propre, même en changeant la chambre 3 jrs avant mon départ, pas de clim ! Piscine pas propre, trandats sales, le repas fait par une cuisinière malgache très bon mais rien de frais....un peu cher pour ce que c'est finalement, dommage personnel très gentil mais je ne reviendrai pas c'est clair car très déçue....

Es ist ein trationelles Gästehaus wo jeden Tag ein leckeres 😋Essen gab und alle Gäste zusammensassen auf wünsche wurde eingegangen.😊 Es wurde sogar im Kühlschrank bei der Bar ein Frühstücksteller gerichtet als wir schon um 6uhr zu einer Bootsfahrt abgeholt wurden 😅 auch kaffee konnten wir kochen .5Min Fussweg waren wir bei einem super weissen Sandstrand mit tollen Sonnenuntergängen.😍 .Strandtücher durften wir benützen samt Badetasche .😉 Der Pool war auch tip top... es wurde auch ein Mietauto besorgt preis top... Hier würde ich jederzeit wieder kommen 😉 Dankevielmool..

Nous avons été bien reçus, le responsable et le personnel étaient très agréables ! Les chambres étaient propres, climatisées et le ménage était fait tous les jours. Nous étions en demi pension, les repas du soir étaient variés et très bons et au petit déjeuner nous avions de quoi être satisfait ( viennoiseries, fruits, oeufs, pancakes, café, thé...). Possibilité de se servir en eau minérale à volonté tous les jours. L'hôtel est bien placé, la plage en face est très agréable et une école de plongée se trouve juste à côté.

L'espace piscine n'était pas entretenu et l'eau de la piscine pas nettoyée ce qui ne nous a pas donné envie d'en profiter. Dans la salle de bain de la chambre, le pommeau de douche présentait quelques fuites et était plein de calcaire.

La chambre trop à la façon dortoir

Le meilleur point est la cuisine du soir avec des menus variés et locaux. On a vraiment très bien mangé le soir. La conciliation du patron pour notre départ. La sympathie du personnel. Le logement est vraiment grand.

La piscine inutilisable. Sale et faite pour les plongeurs. Les alentours de la piscine sont délabrés. Le petit dejeuné du matin est vraiment restreint. Le logement brut. Pas de déco. Climatisation sur le lit donc délicat pour ne pas tomber malade.La situation géographique pas top !

Nie zamykało nam się okno w pokoju. Śniadanie monotonne, codziennie było to samo. Małe i ubogie śniadania, często kończyły się dane produkty gdy śniadanie wciąż trwało i nie dokładano produktów pomimo prośby. Wymieniono nam ręczniki może 2 razy w ciągu 12 dniowego pobytu. Zapytano nas raz czy mogą nam nie sprzątać pokoju?? Personel niesympatyczny/ wymuszony uśmiech, słaba znajomość języka angielskiego. Wifi nie łapało naszego pokoju, więc żeby z niego korzystać musiliśmy schodzić do lobby.

Excellent location close to the beach. Bedroom serviced daily which was a bonus. Nice hot showers. Decent breakfast. Host very personable. Excellent value for money.

Building is a bit tired. Bedroom fine, toilet a bit awkward with toilet roll in inappropriate spot. All in all, it's fine as one must always look at cost. I reiterate excellent value for what we paid.

Hôtel à fuir ! Il n'y a rien que j'ai aimé dans cet hôtel. En 20 ans que je viens à l'île Maurice, c'est la première fois que je suis aussi déçue. Je vous conseille de fuir cet hôtel car ils ne savent pas respecter les Réunionnais.

Nous avons été accueillis par la directrice "Geraldine", une personne très hypocrite, aucun sens du relationnel, menteuse. Le premier soir, ils ont fait la fête jusqu'à 2 h du matin sans se soucier si on était fatigués ou pas. Nous étions un groupe de 27 personnes. Il nous avait promis une soirée mauricienne. Mais promesse non tenue ! Elle nous avait donné des directives pour que le ménage soit fait, nous avons donc suivi. jusqu'au jour où ils ont décidé de ne plus faire le ménage. Toutes les chambres n'ont pas été nettoyées. ATTENTION !!!!! À FUIR À FUIR. La piscine était sale tout le long du séjour. (photo à l’appui). Planché cassé Le jour de notre départ, personne n'est venu nous saluer. La direction est un groupe de copines qui ne respectent pas la politesse. Pour créer des problèmes, ils ont même déposé une culotte qui n'était pas à ma sœur dans la chambre de ma sœur et mon beau-frère, pour créer la discorde entre eux. Elle n'était pas contente que je rouspète que les chambres n'étaient pas propres. ils ont appelé la police pour moi car Dans un premier temps, pour eux, j'avais cassé les toilettes de ma chambre. Or, c'était la partie commune qui était détériorée. C'est ma petite nièce de 9 ans qui, en lavant ses mains, a fait tomber le lavabo. (Le directeur était au courant, il a même rassuré les parents en leur disant : "Du moment qu'elle va bien, c’est le principal. Donc rien à voir avec moi. Les policiers ont fini par me dire : « Dans cette situation, c'est à vous de vous appeler et pas à l'hôtel. Je vous dis à FUIR, à FUIR !!!!

La proximité de certains marchés et la plage pas très loin

Personnel pas accueillant surtout la directrice désagréable, aucune bienveillance. Demande à ses employé de ne pas nettoyer les chambres car il y a de l’eau sur le sol de la salle de bain alors que le logement n’est pas équipé de rideau de douche ni de serpillière ! Les meubles en mauvais état qui est tombé sur ma fille heureusement plus de peur que de mal !! Établissement à ÉVITER !

La proximité de la mer, le petit déjeuner et le dîner, le personnel sympathique

Le bruit nocturne des voitures et de clients mal élevés qui riaient et parlaient fort après 23h00 car la chambre était située près de la route et d'un salon extérieur .

The rooms were very tiny The only downfall was the shared evening meals. You were seated on a long table with other guests We were the only English there, and 10 other guests were speaking French. Some unable to speak English We would have liked to have been given the option, but the table was set every evening. We never accessed the pool it was used quite a bit for scuba training

For budget-friendly accommodation, La Tonnelle was incredible. In the North of the island, it is quite a long way from the airport and off the luxury bus route, but just across the road from balmy, beautiful (extremely hot) Trou aux Biches beach and barely 5 minutes walk from Grand Popo Supermarket and the stop for local busses. The staff were friendly and the managers - Dennis is definitely our favourite - kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and well maintained, air-conditioned, and everything worked. The breakfast was a basic buffet, but what took the experience to a whole new level was the evening meals, with all the guests eating a three course set menu together, cooked or supervised by Dennis. This was not restaurant or hotel food - this was cooked by a talented and imaginative man who genuinely enjoyed giving his guests an experience to remember. Smoked marlin, Swordfish, octopus, pan-seared beef, hearty stew...I could go on, but just thinking about those fantastic meals makes me wish I was back there...

No complaints. For the price, this was all we could have expected and more.

The breakfast wasn't very diverse and i would not use the pool for swimming as it was mainly used by divers.

Geraldine and gang were very friendly and helpful. The dinner arrangements were my favourite part, everyone is seated at 19:30 at one table and we have a new 3 course meal every evening (if you have a special consideration you may tell them), it gave everyone the opportunity to get to know each other. Staff are always smiling and helpful. The beach is a small walk and beautiful. I was alone throughout my stay and always felt safe. Would love to come back.

If you are tempted by La Tonnelle's glossy photos and descriptions of the accommodation and all listed facilities, you may end up very disappointed! Also, if you are bothered by cigarette smoke and you do not speak French, you may find the atmosphere here unpleasant and exclusionary. When you learn that La Tonnelle's standard is inferior and partly untrue compared to what the pictures and descriptions promise, it is easy to feel cheated. I booked a long-term non-refundable stay and ended up with a 28-day vacation that can best be defined as a waste of time, energy, and money.

We had a great time at La Tonnelle. The room was nice and had all that is needed. The garden and bar/restaurant area are very pleasant. We enjoyed very much the dinner. The food was good and eating at the same table as the other guests was pleasant.

All perfect, good location near the beach, restaurants and supermarkets

The staff was incredibly nice and kind. Helped us organize trips at a very decent price and was always makin sure we are comfortable and noting is missing. They provided us beach towels which was a nice bonus and a beach bag to carry them. The breakfast was really delicious (best scrambled eggs we ate in a while) and delicious juice. A big plus was that the diving center was right next doors so we comfortably took some lessons in the morning without having to skip breakfast or hurry too much.

The bathroom could really use a shower curtain. But other than that really for the price and the location next to the beach there is nothing else we can complain about

Nice place , relaxing space and good food

I have nothing nice to say except that Mr. Gert is the biggest fraudster, I paid for the hotel in cash and after that the hotel was charged to my credit card and now he doesn’t want to give me back the money for the hotel that I paid for twice.

It is very close to a beautiful beach. Cleanliness every day, nothing to say, sufficient and very good breakfast. Now since dinner I have a lot to say but briefly it's fantastic, like at a restaurant with many stars. Exceptional food. A large grocery store 300 meters away. It's really perfect.

Our stay at La Tonnelle guest house was a truly amazing experience. The owners are wonderful people, who went above and beyond to make us comfortable and who helped us a great amount in planning and executing our excursions (which was not always simple because we were travelling with a young baby), but most importantly they made us feel at home and amongst family. The staff is also wonderful, and very friendly. The guest house area is very pleasant to hang out, and a beautiful beach is very close by. The food is very good, especially the creole-inspired dishes.

The only small thing to mention is, since we had half-board, that sometimes it would be nice to be able to choose our dinner mains (for example if on a given day we would want vegetarian instead of a meat dish, or fruits for dessert instead of ice cream/sweets). But honestly, the main complaint we had is that we could not stay longer!

Very nice hotel, close proximity to the shops and beach, the owners were amazing made you feel welcomed, always willing to help with any queries you have. Would highly recommend this hotel

What a fantastic find! The guesthouse is directly opposite a great beach and a short distance to Grand Baie and other popular beaches. The room was big and airy, with a lovely private patio. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with a choice of cold and hot items. The best part was the (optional) dinner - delicious food served family style. It’s a chance to chat to other guests and experience authentic Mauritian cuisine. The hosts, Marlene and Gert, went out of their way to make it a fantastic stay, including organising excursions. Excellent value.

Loved everything!

The People were the best, the staff/owner and the guests. Having a different dinner every night, sitting all together and listening to all kind of story's. We wished we could've stayed longer and we're definitely coming back. The owner helped us with every question or wish we had, some of the nicest, heartwarming persons I met during the last time of travel. Thank you and hope to see you soon. There are also some Restaurants and Streedfood we tried and there is also a nice Beach not to far away. We also booked a massage in the hotel and we can recommend that also.

Comfortable rooms with aircon and good wifi. Very friendly hosts and staff. Good breakfast. Sea across the road, beach 200 m. Supermarket and few restaurants are nearby. More shops and eateries in Triolet 2 km away. Bus stop just outside on the road.

Price could be lower.

I liked Everything, especially the hospitality. They were helpful, friendly and fun, felt like visiting a friend. Also it was quite, calm, relaxing and peaceful atmosphere all the time (7 days). Room was big enough and clean. Loved to listen the little red bird on the tree every morning when I get out of my room. Shops and restaurants 5 min walk, parking place at the back. Thank you Gert.

It s a small, very cozy hotel, where everything is organized smoothly. The owners and his crew are realy interested in you and provide you with any kind of help or information. The link with the dive club DiveSpirit is unique

Close to the beach. Supermarket and bus route. Very accommodating to your needs. Loved the staff. Very helpful. Very friendly. It was more like a family atmosphere. Very relaxed atmosphere. Loved the plants and flowers. They really did go the extra mile for me. I would go back !!!

Shower was always cold. Tiny ants abit of a problem. Pool area not so great. TV not so great. Not a good selection of channels . Also the plug point for the kettle was not easily accessible. Cord was too short. Cups for tea and coffee in the room too little. The bar fridge in my room worked but not the best condition. Reception area could be a little more spruced up .

Extremely warm welcome and the new proprietor could not do enough for us. We got a free upgrade without asking and received a free 15 minute massage from the magic handed Verana. As a new acquisition, the hotel is undergoing refurbishment. However, this is being done out of view. Our room was clean, loads of storage and refreshed every day. We particularly enjoyed meeting family and guests at the delicious 3 course dinner which was great value. Luckily for us, the excellent dive centre, Dive Spirit, was part of the complex. Everyone made us feel at home and the sea was over the road. Thank you.

Having to move on

I loved the place, all the people were super friendly and helped me with whatever I needed or planned on doing (they arranged a catamaran tour and transfer). I loved the communal dinner with the hosts. It was basically joining the family for dinner. Great meals. Dive Center directly attached, beautiful beach just a few minutes away. I extended my stay because I enjoyed it so much. It felt like saying goodbye to new friends in the end!
