The shower. While we were taking a shower, water will be all over the bathroom because the shower had no shower door

The place is very nice, the bed was so comfortable and warm because of the electric blanket the host left on for us because we arrived late at night and it was a little chilly. There's filtered water available.

Didn't realize that our room was in a shared house. Little privacy because you can hear people in the next room, doors opening and closing and people walking in the hallway

The place is easily accessible and the staff are extra friendly. The rooms are super spacious and beautiful

The place is very dark outside at the parking, felt very unsafe for my car. Its also not clean at all outside and the bathrooms are just too small for me.

From the time I checked in to the time I departed service was Brilliant.

We stayed here one night as a stop-over driving back home. It was satisfactory for what we required.

The building and area around the carpark need some attention (a lot of things lying around which makes it look messy).

The location is a bit far but it is close to other shopping centres and also peaceful

The breakfast was good. Staff was amazing and friendly, facilities were great and even the security was excellent and I can recommend friends and others,and I believe I can book this place in future. The owner was very friendly.

The guesthouse is in a safe and quiet neighbourhood. It is also not too far from everything that one needs, there's also a shopping center not too far from it. The host is very friendly and she kept checking on us, if we're still okay and so forth. The facility is in a good condition.

Not much really, though we could use a bigger parking space😁, my reversing skills were put to a real test 🤣.

The private swimming pool. Room 11, iyooo I'm certainly coming back. The balcony bedroom, the view of patio and swimming pool from above. I absolutely loved everything about this place. Surely I'm coming back with my kids next summer.

The fact that it's cold and Winter now , I couldn't use the swimming pool. It was sparkling clean and desirable. If it was summer I'd have jumped into it on my first sight.. 😃 😀 😄 😁 🤣 😂

We were sent to a second Location of the original place, without being told,the place was out of town so far from town,the place did not have electricity,the water was cold,the pool site was dirty...we were left alone with no staff the whole night, network was bad.l was very disappointed

Warm bed with extra blanket and electric blanket in the cold season. Everything was perfect. If you are in Bloemfontein. Book your stay at The Lantern, you will not regret. Great value for money.

At 1:30 in the early morning hours, the guests next to us arrived, making no effort to be quiet. In fact, they kicked up quite a racket. Then they started talking. Very loudly. At 3am I couldn't stand their noise any more and went to see what was going on. Their door was half open, one lady sat with her feet in the corridor. I said please, you are very loud and we can't sleep at all. She said sorry, they didn't realize. They then closed the door. Continued talking, started to unpack, doors and drawers closing etc. At 3: 30 they began to shower. At last, at 4am everything was quiet and we could try and sleep again. We paid for a good night's sleep and well....we couldn't.

The manager was very welcoming, friendly and professional. We arrived before check in time and received a warm welcome. They have friendly and professional staff. Clean rooms, fresh bedding and the pillows, very soft and comfy. Clean pool, definitely loved the braai area! We definitely enjoyed our stay. Its a great place in a nice and quiet area. If I find myself in Bloemfontein again, The Lantern is definitely my go to place! Outstanding service!👌👌👌

The communication was proactive, clear, and reassuring. Despite our late arrival after a long journey, we were received with grace, patience, and professionalism. The handover was seamless, even at night, and immediately set the tone. The apartment itself was exceptional. Immaculately clean. Thoughtfully designed. Positioned beautifully on the cliff, offering both privacy and presence. For a young family of four, the space worked. Adequate storage, a functional kitchen, and an environment that felt both secure and considered. Nothing was accidental. However, what defines an establishment is not how it performs when things go right, but how it responds when something goes wrong. I misplaced mu wedding ring during our stay. Not just an item, but something deeply symbolic. By the time we realised, we had already left Bloemfontein, and the property had hosted other guests. At that point, most establishments would have offered polite regret. Instead, what followed was uncommon. Nicolette and Sophie took ownership. Not as employees fulfilling a duty, but as custodians of something meaningful to a guest. Nicolette, in particular, conducted a meticulous search, found the ring, handled it with care, packaged it, and ensured it reached us safely. It arrived in pristine condition. One could argue, even better than when it was lost. That level of care cannot be scripted. It reflects culture. In business, we speak about customer experience, retention, and brand equity. This is what it looks like in practice. Quiet excellence. Personal accountability. Human understanding. For that, you have not just earned a rating. You have earned trust. We will return.
