Everything was excellent. Margarida and her family are doing a great job. The house and our room were fantastic, very well furnished and decorated. Breakfast was tasty with many varieties, and the wine tour was very well organized. Totally recommend!!!

The views from this resort are breathtaking. Margarida is very warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place if you're planning on staying in the Douro Valley.

We stayed in one of the bungalows which have to most amazing views over the valley. We enjoyed the self guided tour around the vineyard of the property, it was a real bonus.

There was nothing to dislike. There is only one slight downside which was we couldn’t find it to start with so driving for the first time make sure you use Google Maps to get the correct location.Margeurida was very helpful in giving us directions personally but if we had used Google Maps I believe that would have pin pointed The property.

Casa do Romezal is an amazing place to call home on your visit to the Duoro Valley. Margarida is a charming hostess, breakfast was delicious with fresh baked goods, the rooms were very large, tastefully decorated and we enjoyed the common area both on the patio and inside to play games at night with our group of six. The pool was also appreciated on hot afternoons. Luís provided a tour and tasting which we also highly recommend. It really could not have been better.

A Casa do Romezal encontra-se bastante perto do Peso da Régua tendo bons acessos. Estando numa posição privilegiada, confere uma excelente vista para o vale. A casa encontra-se muito bem decorada, com pequenos pormenores em cada lado onde olhamos. A propriedade apresenta duas piscinas (qualquer uma delas com uma vista excepcional e uma ligação muito grande à vinha), sendo que existem imensas espreguiçadeiras e espaço disponível. O pequeno almoço é mesmo muito bom, quer a nível de salgados (queijos e enchidos) quer a nível dos doces. E os ovos mexidos...são excelentes. A Margarida (proprietária) é extremamente atenciosa e simpática. A vinicultura tem uma ligação muito grande à casa, pelo que recomendamos também uma prova de vinhos , e/ou uma visita à vinha. O tour virtual disponível representa uma excelente forma de toda a gente poder visitar a vinha ao seu ritmo, mas sem dúvida que o tour do Luís acrescenta uma visão diferente, marcada não só pela parte histórica mas também geográfica e geológica do douro e da sua vinicultura.

Juillet 2026. Endroit magnifique au calme. A conseiller absolument. Gentillesse et accueil parfait de notre hôte qui nous a donné des bons plans pour des activités dans la région. Propreté, très bon matelas et chambre avec vue magnifique sur les collines de vignobles. Petit déjeuner excellent avec beaucoup de produits faits maison.

Margarida is an exceptional innkeeper and host! She goes above and beyond to make her guests happy starting with an impressive spread of homemade baked goods every day , meats and cheeses, fruits , etc . Her daily Pavlova was an extravagance ! The accommodations are equally impressive offering beautifully appointments and is very well cared for . The views and setting are extremely serene and therapeutic . Margarida was instrumental in suggestions for transportation and dining and was spot on with all that she offered. She also connected me with a masseuse who provided the most incredible sos like experience … definitely will go back for the royal treatment she offers 🫶🏼

Margarida and her family are such friendly, welcoming people, you felt right at home as soon as you arrived, she's an amazing baker and the pavlova is to die for.

Charming, well-decorated, amazing location, a big pool with stunning view and a very good breakfast. Everything was above our expectations. On the top of that, Margarida is a lovely host. Always ready to help! I would recommend doing the audio-guided tour in the property with wine tasting.

Everything was so perfect that it's hard to describe! Margarida was wonderful, gave us suggestions for places to visit, restaurants and helped us even with booking them. Always available, always nice and caring. We also did the wine tasting with her brother Luis, which I also recommend: very knowledgeable and the wines were very good. Breakfast was delicious (good homemade cakes, other than savory breakfast too), room clean and a general feeling of being home, but with a wonderful view! Also the position is strategic, 10-15 minutes of car from all the main wineries, Lamedo, Pinaho, and the viewpoints over the Douro Valley. Oh, almost forgot: there is a pool with the view on the valley!

We feel so blessed to have stumbled upon this little piece of heaven in the Douro Valley. The room was perfect, the grounds looked straight out of a magazine, and the pool overlooked the entire valley in the most breathtaking way — but the true magic was in the hospitality of Margarida and the wine tasting experience with Luís. This is, without a doubt, the most memorable place I have ever stayed. Breakfasts were divine — prepared by Margarida herself, they felt like being a true guest in her home. We felt genuinely honored to get a glimpse of her life and a family legacy spanning 34 generations in this valley. We will never stop talking about Casa do Romezal, and we already dream of returning someday

Lovely decorated, spacious, clean and has all you need. And let’s nog forget about the amazing view form your balcony.

Some places you can capture in a photograph. Casa do Romezal is not one of them. We arrived having seen the pictures, and the pictures are beautiful, but they don’t even come close. Because what makes this place extraordinary isn’t something a camera can catch. It’s the warmth of the people. The care. The attention to every little detail. The views that stop you mid-sentence. You step out, you look around, you feel the welcome, and it genuinely leaves you a little breathless. Margarida looked after us from the very first moment with a kindness and thoughtfulness you simply can’t fake, nothing was too much trouble, and she made us feel less like guests and more like family. And the wine tasting with Luís was a highlight not just of our stay, but of our entire trip through Portugal. His passion, his knowledge, the love and the story he pours into every glass, it was personal, generous, and unforgettable. We’ve tasted wine at grand, famous estates, and honestly none of them came close to the soul of that evening with Luís. The house, the pool, the valley stretching out in front of you, the homemade breakfast on the terrace, all of it is stunning. But it’s the heart behind it that we’ll carry with us. If you’re deciding where to stay in the Douro, stop looking. This is the place. Thank you, Margarida and Luís, for something we’ll never forget.

Die Unterkunft war toll, die Gastgeberin wundervoll. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt bei Margarida und Ihrer Familie sehr genossen. Das Frühstück war traumhaft.

Superbes installations confortables et propres au milieu des vignes et des montagnes. Notre hôte nous a servi des déjeuners fabuleux et nous a fourni toutes les informations utiles pour profiter pleinement de notre séjour.

Les derniers 100 m sur le chemin d'accès au gîte nous semblaient plutôt périlleux pour des gens de la ville canadienne, mais on s'en est sorti!

Un vrai paradis dans la vallée du Douro. Tout était parfait : la chambre, et les espaces extérieures. Le petit déjeuner était exceptionnel par la diversité et et la qualité proposées. Et la cerise sur le gâteau...la gentillesse, l'amabilité, la disponibilité et l'accueil de Margarida. Je recommande fortement cette adresse.

Our stay at Casa do Romezal and experience with Gueda Wines was truly one of the absolute highlights of our time in Portugal. In a relatively short stay, we felt completely immersed in the culture, history, and traditions of winemaking in the Douro Valley. This was so much more than simply tasting wine. We came away with a genuine appreciation and understanding of the region — from the beauty and complexity of the traditional field blends to the deep-rooted history woven into the vineyards, the estate, and the surrounding landscape. Sharing wines and aged Ports together, including both Ruby and Tawny styles, felt personal, authentic, and incredibly special. What made the experience unforgettable, though, was the warmth and passion of Margarida and her brother Luis. They shared their family history, knowledge, and love of the Douro with such sincerity and enthusiasm that by the end of our stay, we felt less like visitors and more like welcomed guests in their home. There is something truly magical about Casa do Romezal — the history, the setting, the wine, and most importantly, the people. This experience left a lasting impression on us and became one of those rare travel moments we know we will remember for years to come.

Everything was perfect. I couldn't even come up with anything we didn't like...well, because then it wouldn't have been authentic.

It is genuinely difficult to pinpoint just one thing we loved most about Casa do Romezal. Every aspect of our stay was flawless, from the stunning interior decoration to the breathtaking surroundings and top-tier amenities. The breakfast was a daily highlight—incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and featuring a wonderful selection of high-quality items. However, what makes this place truly soul-stirring is the fact that it is family-owned. You can feel the love and intentionality in every single detail, from the curated decor to the manicured gardens. Margarida, the owner, was the absolute highlight of our trip. She is exceptionally kind and helpful, possessing that rare gift of making you feel instantly at home. We will definitely be back and cannot recommend this beautiful home enough!

Ir ao Douro aproveitar uma experiência 100% portuguesa é muito difícil nos dias de hoje com todo o turismo estrangeiro a dominar... Finalmente encontramos na casa do Romezal essa possibilidade. Desde a simpatia, amabilidade e disponibilidade da Margarida que tornou a experiência muito familiar. Pequeno almoço caseiro com produtos de muita qualidade. Quarto com todas as amenidades. Sugiro apenas uma máquina de café. De ressalvar o cheiro incrível das toalhas!! Piscina infinita muito agradável. Jardins super cuidados. Zona de Wine tasting que desta vez não deu para experimentar.

Acesso à casa durante a noite com fraca visibilidade e estrada exterior em muito mal estado, como sugerido poderá ser informado antes da chegada. Frigorífico apenas na zona comum que partilha acesso a todos os hóspedes.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans l’établissement. Margarida nous a réservé un accueil exceptionnel en nous fournissant beaucoup d'explications et de suggestions qui ont rendu notre séjour vraiment très agréable. Une mention spéciale pour le petit déjeuner qui s'est avéré fabuleux. La localisation du logement nous a permis de visiter la vallée du Douro avec beaucoup de facilité. C’est donc une adresse que nous recommandons très fortement, sans aucune hésitation.

Our bungalow was stylish and comfortable with breathtaking views over the mountains and vineyards. We were very happy with the accommodation. It had full kitchen amenities, a huge bathroom and a roomy bedroom. The towels and robes smelled amazing! I want to know what they use to get them to smell that good! The bungalow had rituals toiletries which were a nice touch. Margarida made us feel welcome and had good tips for places to visit and restaurants. She also gave us the number of a local taxi who provided an excellent service. It’s a bit of a winding road to get there but you soon get used to it. I would go back in a heartbeat.

We recently stayed in a bungalow unit at Casa Do Romezal and absolutely loved it. The Casa was beautifully appointed with stunning views and Gueda Vineyards were wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting. Margarida, Luis and their entire family have done such a wonderful job creating a special place. It is one of our favourite spots that we have stayed in anywhere in Europe.

Warm and inviting, Margarita made everything comfortable. Breakfast was perfect, with everything homemade, including pastel de nata. The bed was super comfy and the outside seating area overlooked a beautiful scene of the Douro valley, so did the windows from our room. Margarita shared some great places and things to do.

Margarita had a wonderful variety of fresh fruit, pastries (including homemade jam), made-to-order scrambled eggs, cheese and meats, yogurt, etc. The property was immaculate. The host truly cared about her guests and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, including great recommendations for restaurants and transportation into town.

Das Frühstück war unglaublich: Margarida hat ein Buffet aufgefahren, das keine Wünsche offen ließ. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben!

Alles top! Die familiäre Atmosphäre, das Frühstück kommt einem 5 Sterne Frühstück gleich. Die Besitzer sind wahnsinnig freundlich, hilfsbereit und haben unseren Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Unbedingt auch eine Weinverkostung buchen.

חדר מהאגדות, ישנו במה שנקרא "בונגלו" , בפועל זוהי סוויטת חלומות, מאובזרת, מרווחת, עם מרפסת לנוף מהיפים ביותר שהיינו בהם. והיינו. פשוט נפלה לנו הלסת. מרגרידה , היא מארחת מסבירת פנים, אדיבה, משרה תחושה נעימה מהרגע הראשון ועד האחרון, סייעה לנו בהכל.

A casa Romezal é aconchegante em tudo, todos os detalhes cuidados pela Margarida são especiais, as roupas de cama, as toalhas de banho, super perfumadas!! O café da manhã delicioso, com geléias e bolos todos os dias feitos com carinho por ela. Sem dúvida , fez nossa estadia no Vale do Douro muito mais especial .

Prachtige B&B in de nabije omgeving van de steden Peso da Regua en Pinhao. Mooi uitzicht over de vallei vanuit de lokatie, heerlijk rustige omgeving en Margarida doet er alles aan om het je naar de zin te maken. Geweldig ontbijt! We hebben helaas geen gebruik kunnen maken van de zwembaden vanwege het weer maar ook deze zagen er goed uit. De wijn van haar broer's wijngaard is zeker het proberen waard.

Nao gostei do facto do quarto ser tão quente, mesmo tendo ar condicionado a temperatura era de extremos. Tambem nao gostamos do pequeno almoço ser das 9 as 10h, acho que limita um pouco os horários dos hospedes.
