Die Klimaanlage funktionierte leider nicht und wegen der Mücken konnten wir die Fenster nicht öffnen, wodurch wir schlecht bis gar nicht schliefen. Die Lage des Guesthouses ist sehr abgeschieden. Bis zum Gordens Bay Strand fährt man ca. 15min. mit dem Auto.

Reviewed Jan 9, 2025The property is in an agricultural holding area so it's secluded from the bustle of the city. It's off the main road, with a short drive down a dirt road. You can see right out to the ocean with views of surrounding mountains. It's still close enough to the bay for Uber pickups during main hours. The owners are really friendly and super helpful. They personally cook and serve a delicious breakfast that is freshly made to order. Try the scrambled eggs! They also have two lovely dogs that calmly acknowledge you with a once-off sniff on arrival... After which you may get a slight nod from the dogs as they like to mind their business while napping and strolling round the property. It was super hot when we arrived so the fan and plunge pools were great to see. For food one can go into the city or order in from ubereats . We were in the self catering unit so ordered groceries from checkers sixty60. The unit had everything we needed including a dishwasher. Beds were comfortable and unit was cleaned every 3 days. You could request fresh towels as needed.
Would have loved an additional fan in the living area to make that area more comfortable

Reviewed Apr 4, 2024Melani & Alex were fantastic hosts and they run a fabulous property. We will definitely stay again on our return to Gordons Bay. Rooms were well presented and the attention to detail was very cool - highly recommended.
This may be petty BUT, If I could recommend one thing, it would be to replenish the 3 coffee pods on a daily basis (they were available to purchase on site but would have been a better touch to provide) - did not distract from a wonderful stay though hence the 10 out of 10!)

Reviewed Mar 26, 2024Es gibt dort ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstück. Der warme Teil wird frisch zubereitet und serviert. Das Haus liegt am Hang mit wunderschönem Garten und einer tollen Aussicht. Würden hier wieder übernachten. Man hat sich hier sehr sicher und gut aufgehoben gefühlt.
Die Zufahrt ist leider eine holprige Schotterstrecke und man sollte hier sehr langsam fahren

Beautiful views, lovely dogs, nice swimming pool to cool down, cosy seats to watch the magnificent sunset, beautiful garden, comfortable and big room, good & fresh breakfast (fruit, yoghurt, bread, eggs, ...). Very calm location; close enough to Cape Town, Stellenbosch and other activities.
There was a problem with the electricity supply; but Melani and Alex handled it great. They helped us with good alternatives, so everything was perfect.

Reviewed Mar 12, 2024The views from the property are exceptional from the mountains to the sea. Alex and Melani are very nice hosts and looked after us very well while we were there. The location is very quiet and really helped us to have the relaxing break we were looking for. We will definitely be back again in the future.
There were virtually no negatives from our point of view. The road up to the property is a little rough when you come off the main road. But it was not too much of a problem for us

Reviewed Feb 27, 2024Die Lage war sehr schön, mit besonderer Aussicht. Es war ein äußerst gepflegtes Anwesen, das von einem Schweizer mit seiner Frau betrieben wird. Das abwechslungsreiche Frühstück wurde uns von Beiden persönlich gereicht. Am Sonntag gab es einen frischgebackenen Hefezopf! Wir können es nur weiterempfehlen und werden im Falle der Rückkehr nach Südafrika wieder dort einen Stopp einlegen.

Idealer Ausgangspunkt für viele schöne Ausflüge in die Weingebiete und hervorragende Golfplätze. Das exzellente Frühstück ist kaum zu übertreffen, mit täglich frischen Saft und hausgemachtes Brot und Süssgebäck. Melani und Alex sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen Gefühlt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ett varmt välkomnande av värdparet och ett utsökt spatiöst rum, med elegant fåtöljgrupp och bra badrum, samt möjlighet till att sitta ned utanför i trädgårdsgrupp eller sitta ned i avskildhet med utsökt över Kapstaden och solnedgången över bergen i fjärran. Frukosten var också den både trevlig och serverad på utsökt porslin och med elegant uppläggning.
Lite svårt att få kontakt vid grinden, som öppnades inifrån huset. Det skulle kunna ingå i upplysningen inför boendet.

Reviewed Apr 1, 2023Etwas Außerhalb, dafür sehr ruhig. Großes, gemütliches Zimmer, sehr großes Bett und Bad. Schöne Terrasse beim Zimmer. Das Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt. Auch ein Pool steht zur Verfügung. Geführt wird es von einem sehr netten Ehepaar. Frühstück ist auf Wunsch dabei, alles Übliche (div. Brot, Toast, Käse-Schinke-Variationen, Müsli, Säfte, Aufstriche...), selbstgemachtes Brot und Eierspeise ganz nach Wunsch. Herrlich! Es gibt auch zwei sehr nette Hunde!

Reviewed Mar 12, 2023We loved the warm welcome, the hosts sympathy. The place was cozy, clean, charming, and organized. Despite having load shedding (as usual in South Africa), the generator was very nice, but being surrounded by natural beauty from mountains and beach, we don't want to focus on electronic things. Our room with a view to the ocean allowed us to witness beautiful sunsets. The breakfast was rich, healthy and fresh. For sure we will come back to spend more weekends!

Reviewed Mar 6, 2023The host is really forgot the rules of hospitality. Guys you are not the private club of the billionaire, you are just guesthouse. It is normal to help to the guest to make warm the food. You create the rules which violet the humans rights. You don’t offer any food to your house( no dinner no lunch), you don’t have any cafes and shops close to you, only 25 minutes by cars in the same time you don’t let people to eat their food in their room and even you don’t happy to give the plate and make warm food. I really do not appreciate such bad service. People can eat what they want and where they want, you cannot damage from the guest go out to eat something. You forgot the basic knowledge of HORECA. Come back to the earth and be more helpful. It is not necessary to be such arrogant and snobbish. You earn money by your guests.
