Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Unfortunately I didn't get to experience the Walmer Heights Guest house as the owner made contact and informed me she had plumbing issues, then booked me into a beautiful Guest house on an Estate close to her. It was very kind of her to do so. It was quite late for me to get an alternative place by myself as I was flying in from Cape Town. So everything worked out well.

Obv. van gepubliceerde foto's en review heb ik de boeking gedaan. Dag voor aankomst kregen we melding dat we door een waterlek hier niet konden overnachten. Men had naar een alternatief gezocht, maar dit alternatief was echt te basis en uit onze ervaringen niet het geld dat we betaalde waard. Zeer jammer!

I booked a two-bedroom Deluxe Suite for my mom and my daughter so they could each have their own space but was given one room with two beds and a shower in the bedroom. I paid for 5* accommodation but was given 1* accommodation. As I was not there, I only found out after they had checked in. The host had no right to change the accommodation type. I paid for the 2-bedroom suite but was given a totally different set up. I have e-mailed the host and Booking.com about this.

Reviewed May 27, 2026The owners were accommodating and friendly. We were put in the wrong room the first night but pleasantly moved the next day when asked to be.
I’d suggest to remove the pool table from the communal area as some guests didn't disrespect the rules. There was a lady who wasn't staying at the property that came twice into the property and was acting mentally unstable. Id suggest blockout curtains.

Reviewed Mar 20, 2026Loved the environment, it was very quiet, which was great. The guesthouse is very centrally situated so it's easy to navigate around the Walmer area. The room was amazing, with fantastic facilities. The bed was VERY comfortable and it was great to have options for TV viewing. Will definitely stay there again.
We didn't meet the host, Karin. She seemed to never be around. When we left the guesthouse after one night staying at the guesthouse, there was no one to see us off. We had to find a domestic helper to open the gate for us. The room could also have done with sugar sweetener for coffee and those little parmalat milk sachets instead of creamer. Otherwise, I give this guesthouse 9/10.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2025The location is excellent, a quiet neighbourhood which is really safe. The parking for the car was secure and the property itself is very well looked after. The value for money is really good which includes the house being accessible for use of the kitchen etc.
The beds could be a bit firmer. The toilet in our unit could not really take the use of 2ply toilet paper. The pillows are a bit soft for our liking.

Reviewed Mar 20, 2025Karin and Morne, the owners, are very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The guesthouse is located in a very quiet and safe area. Yet, it's only a few minutes from the airport. The guesthouse has everything you need. The rooms are large and nicely furnished. There's a communal living room with a pool table and a fully equipped kitchen. The outdoor area is equipped with a clean pool, lounge chairs, a sofa, and a comfortable seating area. When I 'm back in PE, I will definitely come back.
There is a large fenced Parkingslot. But the gate is not high enough for higher cars (more than 2,55 M). Morne want lift the gate in the next week's.
