Lighthouse Guesthouse

The guesthouse and the room was very clean and quiet. The location was also very good.

The guesthouse does not have lifts and is a few levels up, which is fine but we didn't know until we arrived. The shower head was also on an angle which was fine for me as I'm short but was very awkward for my husband.

This property is exceptional. The facilities are without a doubt excellent, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The common area was very well appointed and was a great place to talk with fellow travelers. The location of the accommodation was perfect, great shopping, food and activities were very close. It is also very close to the train station.

Die Unterkunft liegt nahe vom Bahnhof und dem Kolonialviertel von Mokpo im 1. Stock (kein Aufzug). Es gibt kleine und größere Zimmer, die um eine Gemeinschaftsküche gruppiert sind. Die Zimmer selbst sind okay, die Betten bequem, das Badezimmer okay. Sauberkeit tadellos

Von außen erstenmal auf Anhieb nicht erkennbar (Lighthouse nur auf koreanisch). Parkplätze Mangelware, aber einige kostenpflichtige und nicht zu teure Parkplätze sehr nah)

De locatie is erg goed, dichtbij het station, goede bakkers voor ontbijt en restaurants. Hotel is super schoon.

-brak otwieranych okien (że względu na komary itp) ale wciąż brak świeżego powietrza - toaleta, brak miejsca na kosmetyki - bardzo cienkie ściany - zużyty papier do kosza na śmieci (niby normalne w Korei ale ciężko się przyzwyczaić)

Very accommodating staff, with our train getting into Mokpo quite late, we were still able to check in after the designated times. Well stocked kitchen for utensils. Very well located to the train station.

Futon beds were quite uncomfortable whilst being very thin and on a hard surface floor. Would be great if a thicker futon was available, luckily we had a spare bed set up which we could use as a second layer.

Tout, très sympa, propre, l'hôte est très gentille et surtout l'emplacement très proche de la gare!!

J'ai lavé mon linge car il y a une machine à laver mais à savoir qu'il n'y a pas de sèche-linge, seulement un étendoir sur le toit. Par conséquent, si le temps est humide prévoyez de laver votre linge suffisamment tôt!

Excellent value, spotlessly clean, friendly staff. Shared bathrooms were in excellent condition and the kitchen space was very impressive. Well located and well priced.

駅近なのが唯一の利点。しかし、基本的には荷物を置いて街歩きはできません。チェックイン時間前には、一切入れないので要注意。

いわゆる民泊です。予定より早く着く場合など、先に解錠用PINナンバーを要求しましょう。英語、日本語でもメッセージを送ると、韓国語の案内をコピペで返信してきます。少なくともPINナンバーは把握できるはずです。 スタッフは常駐していません。それを知らずに荷物を置きに行ったところ、偶然、オーナーらしき人がいて荷物を預けられました。しかし、スマホの翻訳機能で、いやみをいくつか言われました。WELCOMEの一言もありませんでした...その後は「何時にチェックインするのか？」と何度も連絡がくるため、その都度、返信していました。しかし、チェックイン時に待っていてくれることもなく、なんだったのでしょう？

The guesthouse is ideally located just around the corner from the train station and close to bus stops. The facilities were clean and the hosts friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at the Lighthouse again if in the area.

Room small and hard to keep smelling nice. Bathrooms also always foul odor.

Location was excellent being right near a big train station and bus stops. Short walk to many of the ferry ports. Hotel felt secure with a security door and keys to each room. The room was small but comfortable. Bathrooms were clean but nowhere to hang anything in the shower room. The provided amenities were sufficient. The staff lady who checked me in was nice.

It is too expensive for this kind of a room. The bathrooms and toilets were so bad that all the taps were leaking. The cloth hanger fell out when I just put one piece of cloth on it.

The staff was kind, patient and incredibly helpful. The accommodation and the common areas were really clean and the bathrooms were modern.

There was a bit of noise from the outside, I think the walls are thin. But, earplugs were provided which was helpful.

Loved that it was small single rooms. Nice not to have a dorm. Cute little place that’s near the train station.

Wonderfully located close to various restaurants and a close walk to the port. The owner also helped me with tickets for the ferry and was overall very helpful. Great stay.

One toilet and one shower to share per gender could get crowded but wasn't a problem when I was there. A bit more pricey than similar hostels in Seoul.

The room had just the right size for me. I could decide on its temperature. It had curtains. It was not too far from attractions.

The rooms are not soundproof. I woke up with my neighboor. The owner gives you earplugs to prevent that. Regarding restaurants, if you want to test Mokpo's specialities and if you are alone, it might be hard to find a place that accept you. You can eat bibimbap alone but others want you to be at least 2.

Given the fact that it's a 8m2 room, it's as best as it could be : it's clean, well equipped, there is a kitchen for the guests to use, the host looked charming (although I saw her only very briefly).

Well..it's a 8m2 room ;-) So it was fine for one night (before taking the ferry), but I wouldn't book it if I wanted to actually stay in Mokpo - as, for example, I wouldn't be able to open my luggage. Also, if the other guests are loud, you can hear them even with earplugs.

- Location! Very close to Mokpo station, less than 3-5 minutes by walk? Also surrounded with restaurants, cafes, bakeries... Convenience store is also nearby. - Heating system works very well, hot water, almost everything needed is provided

- Poor soundproof. It's like sharing rooms with everyone else in the house except that we can't see each other since there are walls. Earplugs are provided, but still I'd not recommend for people who can't stand noises (phone notification can be heard, footsteps, using of toilet etc...) - It's just me personally but I'm not so used to the pillow provided (it's too tall)

Booked enough rooms (5 rooms for 10 people including 1 infant) for my family. However upon arrival, we were rudely questioned about the number of guests despite validly booking for our group. Also, washing machine facilities are not working so we were not able to wash our clothes during our stay.

A very good location! The staff member was able to check me in even though I arrived after 10pm, thank you! The check in process was simple enough and the staff member was able to simply explain things in English. Has everything you need, and a very affordable place for a private room!

It was quiet and I don't think many other guests stayed at the guesthouse. Everything was on one floor an the common area was spacious and slick and tidy. The kitchen area and the table looked quite appealing. Room, bed, shower, bathroom all (worked first of all, but also) were cozy and clean. And it had a good atmosphere in my opnion. All that for a reasonable price and I am just all arround content.

Almost everything. The location and the facilities. The woman is very nice, ready to help. It's clean, spacious and warm. All the kitchen equipment is modern (and in quantity. There is everything: kettle, toaster, microwave, hob...)

The host is really nice, friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and convenient.

The futon was very comfortable and the room cosy but big enough for my luggage, very warm and calm. The kitchen and common space were both extremely clean and well furnished. The host was also very kind and helpful! It was a really good stay, though brief. I had to take the ferry in the morning and it was a short 20 minute walk away.

This was a repeat visit, a clear sign that I really meant the positive comments I wrote after my first stay! My initial impressions were totally confirmed and I would definitely encourage future guests to use this GH as a base for a longer exploration of an interesting town that grows on you - if you know where to look!

A great welcome despite limited communication skills - on both sides! A bright, airy room whose cleanliness is enhanced by a deliberate, minimalistic approach to decoration. Only a 5mn walk to Mokpo main railway station and 1.5km to the International Passenger Ship Terminal. Incidentally, an easy, pleasant stroll there will take you through picturesque streets with quaint old houses.

Small, terrible communication of host, noise, no private facilities, low privacy, very expensive for the shared space. And few days before going, due to addition of member, I asked if i could cancel my reservation without being charged. The amazing hostess said sorry. And then she charged me for room, and cancelled my reservation and gave my room to someone else, without telling me!!! When I arrived, she gave me another room without bed... Saying Sry, I thought you were not coming.

The guesthouse owner is really friendly and helpful. The facilities were comfortable and clean.

Location is everything, right by the train station with buses to nearby Dongbu market & ferry port. Room is very clean with simple & minimal set up but it is more than adequate, love the futon/tatami bed. Host was friendly and welcoming.

Slight caution: if you have heavy/bulky luggage, do note that you would need to lug them to the 3rd floor which is where the unit is located.

The Lady who greeted me is super nice and helpful. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. They also offer tea, instant coffee and water. The station and the bus stop are right around the corner.

My room was quite small but for two nights totally fine.

This guesthouse is immaculately clean and is located near the main fish market and ferry terminal. It was also pretty quiet.

My single room was very private but not for the claustrophobic. It's basically a glorified closet, but the sleeping pad (not quite a mattress) was comfortable and if you're just looking for clean, quiet place to sleep, it fits the bill.

This guesthouse was very clean; the room, shared spaces, and pillows and blanket. The location is superb, right by the station and a 20 min bus ride to the bus terminal. There's a water dispenser available and amenities in the bathroom.

I was confused about the payment. Booking.com asks for your credit card and says it'll charge you before you get there. But actually the guesthouse just secures the credit card in case of a cancellation and you pay upon arrival. Not a problem, just a heads up in case you have the same problem!

Very neat and clean. Friendly owner. Great location - 2-300m from the station, a range of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, and an easy walk to Yudalsan, the main scenic spot of the city. Open kitchen area with a large table, fridge, washing machine. Single rooms are separated from shared rooms to prevent too much noise and communal areas only available till 10pm.

I was just there one night with not many other guests there, which was fine. For a longer stay or if more guests were in, it might quickly feel a bit cramped. The room is very small, and the blind doesn't properly shut out the light (thankfully there was not too much light from the street). The shower is shared by other guests and is a traditional Korean-style shower, ie. limited space to hang your clothes and very difficult to put on your clean clothes without getting them damp.

The guesthouse is very conveniently located next to the train station. It is also in the heart of old Mokpo. There are many historical sites to visit, in addition to Yudalsan mountain!
