It was very clean.

The room was smaller than expected but it was okay.

Wir hatten diese Unterkunft gebucht, waren aber bei seinem Bruder untergebracht. Er hat sich sehr gut um uns gekümmert. Er gab uns wichtige Hinweise und besorgte uns einen Fahrer für die Weiterfahrt. Es gab ein sehr gutes Frühstück.

Locatie en zeer lieve hosten!

La familia es muy agradable. La habitación estaba limpia y la ubicación estaba bien aunque hace falta pillar tuktuk para ir al centro o a la playa.

Insgesamt eine sehr gute Unterkunft um entspannt auf Sri Lanka anzukommen ! Alles sauber, nahe am Strand !

Una villa muy familiar con habitación muy cómoda con su propio baño y aire acondicionado. La familia muy atenta y pendiente de todo por si quieres desayunar, comer o cenar en cualquier momento. Está muy cerca de la calle principal desde donde puedes hacer turismo en Negombo!

Great facilities for the price and owner is helpful and friendly. We checked in very late at midnight but she was very comfortable about it . Great stay

The host family is just amazing. Kind, lovely people that made us feel at home. They are always willing to help, the room was clean, the bed was comfy and we got the breakfast one morning and it was delicious. Highly recommend staying at Marcelin.

What a wonderful stay with Roy and Jennifer! From the very first moment, I felt welcome with this lovely family. The guesthouse is very clean, well maintained, and peacefully located. You can truly relax in a pleasant, homely atmosphere. The location is perfect: close to the beach and within walking distance of nice restaurants, yet situated in a quiet area away from the crowds. What I especially appreciated was how Roy and Jennifer helped me with my luggage, which had to be delivered later from the airport. They thought along with me, kept in touch, and made sure everything was properly arranged. I would absolutely recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for a warm, hospitable, and carefree place to stay. 🌴

Preis-Leistung in der unteren Preiskategorie passt. Die Gastgeber helfen einem bei Fragen, sind freundlich und geben sich Mühe. Sie lassen einem seine Privatsphäre und sind nicht aufdringlich. Handtücher und eine Decke liegen parat.

Keine Kritik: Es ist eine einfache Unterkunft, aber für den Preis war es auch nicht anders zu erwarten. Das muss man nur im Hinterkopf haben.

I had a wonderful stay at this villa. Jenifer and Roy are exceptional host who went above and beyond to make my short visit perfect. From the moment I arrived, they were incredibly helpful, arranging a taxi for my arrival and even providing a delicious lunch since Zi arrived late in the afternoon.They also organized a Tuk Tuk for a few hours and a lovely boat trip to the Lagoon.The rooms were immaculate and so peaceful,allowing me to get a great night’s sleep before moving on the next day. To top it all off,I enjoyed a homemade traditional breakfast prepared by Jenifer. I highly recommend for this for anyone looking for friendly hospitality and a comfortable stay.

The property was located at a very accessible location, easily reachable. The hosts were super friendly, accommodating and very polite, always with a smile on their faces which just made us very comfortable. Even after the checkout, they were very attentive to any questions asked.

Roi y Jenny son la pareja que lleva el alojamiento. Son extremadamente amables, hasta el punto que nos hicieron el check-in a las 7 am. Después de 15 horas de viaje, es de agradecer. Además, si te cae fin de semana, puedes salir con ellos a tomarte unas copas por el centro!

Clean, comfortable, simple accomodation. Lovely staff who were accomodating and provided great guidance to me as a solo traveller settling into Sri Lanka. They assisted me to book a tuk tuk and bus with AC. Thanks so much for having me stay!

I liked everything about this property ☺️ I would suggest a sign on the fence of the homestay, as once you turn down the laneway it is difficult to know which place is the homestay especially when arriving after dark.

The breakfast is very good especially the hoppers, I want to eat them again now. Very reasonable price, the hosts are very nice, we arrived the hotel very late, the host told us where to eat, five or 10 minutes can reach to the restaurant, the fruit juice there is so good.

The hotel room has a very strong smelling, I don’t know whether it comes from soap or cologne, I wash my clothes and hand there the next day they get all the smelling. The Country has many stray dogs and cats, hope you can share some food to them and be nice to them.

I had a wonderful stay at the Marcelin Family Villa, which was both clean and comfortable. Upon my arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Roy, the owner, and his wife, Jenifa, treated me to delicious spicy food and fresh fruit. Since my booking was for a day, they kindly arranged a tuk-tuk for me to explore the area. They also took care of all the necessary licensing formalities before my arrival, which I truly appreciated. I was impressed by their hospitality and would highly recommend this place to others.

What an amazing family and stay here! Roy and his family are very welcoming and helpful, they are full of tips and are always willing to support. The breakfast is delicious with many local fruits and local pancakes. We loved it so much that we will be back to stay here again. It is close to the beach and there are plenty of shops and restaurants around. This is the perfect place to start/finish your time in Sri Lanka

Jennifer and Roy were welcoming and friendly, we felt like at home and were looked after well. The property was located 5minutes walking distance from the beach. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, it consisted of hoppers, pancakes, fruits and tea/coffee.

Excellent location. Owners are kind and helpful with excellent communication. I arrived at midnight and it was no problem waiting to check me in. Shower had hot water with great water pressure. Marcelin Family Villa was the perfect first stop on our trip to Sri Lanka! The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The room was clean, neat, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious—it was our first Sri Lankan breakfast, and we loved every bite! Highly recommend!

This family home stay is a very welcoming, comfortable stay for a few nights in Negombo. Roy, and Jenifer are lovely hosts and made a really great breakfast. The room was spacious for my needs as a solo traveller and I felt safe here. Not too far to walk for shops and restaurants, and about half an hr from the airport.

More than perfect. The place is clean and in a great location. Roy and his family are fantastic people and very accommodating. They even helped me organize the following day and book a bus to reach my next destination, saving me quite a bit of time (and money). They also recommended an excellent nearby restaurant where I had a delicious Kottu. As if that weren’t enough, they also prepared a great and thorough breakfast. When I return to Negombo, I already know where to stay!

We stayed here for 2 days and returned back for another 2 days after touring Sri Lanka. Staying here makes you feel at home with Roy and Jennifer taking care of everything. Its very safe even for solo female travellers. We will definitely recommend this place to others and will come back again next year.

For me, the Marcelin family villa was by far the best accommodation during my 4 week trip in Sri Lanka ! The price-performance is unbeatable! The owner Roy is an excellent host he is amazing, and his wife makes the best delicious breakfast I have seen in Sri Lanka. Everything really everything there is spotlessly clean I felt like at home there. Usually I never write reviews, but this accommodation is simply the best! Don't miss it !
