Un peu excentré d' Unawatuna pour aller au resto le soir sans prendre de tuk tuk

Het personeel was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamers waren heel erg schoon, nog niet eerder zo een schone en grote kamer in Sri Lanka gehad. Ook het ontbijt is uitgebreid en erg lekker! Het zwembad was lekker verkoelend en groot, ook de tuin is mooi aangelegd en goed onderhouden met voldoende ligbedden en hangmatten! Echt een aanrader om te verblijven als je Galle wilt bezoeken en Unawatana! Dankjewel aan het lieve personeel!

Lovely peaceful location set in beautiful spacious gardens with a big swimming pool, hammocks, flowers and birds all around. It’s a tuk tuk ride away from Unawatuna town which is perhaps a downside but personally we preferred the quiet and calm away from all the noise of the town. The hosts are very friendly and kind and really looked after us, arranging tuk tuk rides to and from places, trip to Koggala lake, to Galle and a massage one evening. Rooms are comfortable with lovely balcony areas.

The owner helped us with everything and the staff was incredibly friendly. We even got the breakfast served to our veranda and it was delicious. We would definitely go there again.

Rent og pænt over alt, rigtig fleksibel og græstfrie. Vi blev overrasket af over der dyreliv, vi fik set under vores ophold her.

Le lieu est magnifique avec une très belle végétation. La famille qui tient la villa sont adorables. On y mange très bien avec de belle quantité.

De vila heeft hele ruime kamers en badkamer. Het heeft een prachtige, grote tuin met hier en daar hangmatten om in te luieren. Het zwembad is ook lekker groot. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en maakt graag contact. De Vila is van een familie die hier woont en alles voor je met veel liefde regelt. Ze bieden massages aan, waar wij met het hele gezin (ook jonge kinderen) van gebruik hebben gemaakt. Ik kan dit aan iedereen aanraden. Het is op een paar minuten rijden van het strand om met grote schildpadden te zwemmen en op 15 minuten van Galle. Wij hebben onze vakantie bij deze Vila afgesloten. Het is slechts op 2 uur rijden van het vliegveld. Jammer dat we hier maar 2 dagen waren.

Nous n'avons passé qu'une nuit dans cet établissement, en arrivant vers 21 h et en repartant le lendemain vers 8 h, mais nous en gardons un excellent souvenir. Avant notre arrivée, nous avons reçu un message nous demandant si nous souhaitions dîner sur place et à quelle heure nous arriverions. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié cette attention. Le repas était délicieux, très copieux et préparé avec soin. Le lendemain matin, le petit-déjeuner était également excellent. Malgré notre court séjour, nous avons été très bien accueillis. Merci pour votre gentillesse et votre disponibilité. Nous recommandons cet établissement avec grand plaisir !

Villa Gaetano est littéralement un coin de paradis ! C'est un endroit authentique, avec beaucoup de végétations. Le lieu est peut être un petit peu éloigné de la plage mais il est proche de l'axe principal où des bus réguliers circulent notamment vers Galle. De plus une gare y est tout près pour rejoindre Galle ou Colombo. Le personnel y est très sympathique, on y mange bien que ce soit au dîner ou au petit déjeuner. Franchement, allez-y, l'endroit vaut vraiment le détour !

Hôtel très agréable, très bien situé en pleine nature. Le personnel est au top, la piscine et le jardin le sont aussi. Le petit-déjeuner est le plus copieux et le meilleur que j’ai pu avoir au Sri Lanka

位置很偏，小巷子，离古城4.4公里，离火车站也这么远，不方便，价格还贵，家庭房4人2天800多，我们没注意火车站是要到古城附近的，很远！不划算！晚上回去天黑了，如果你是2个人感觉不安全！第一天热水坏了，第二天晚上空调坏了，空调制冷时间长，30多度的天，很不舒服！人倒是挺好的

Big property well maintained and very friendly owners. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast and dishes they cooked for us as late lunch and the pool is nice! We also booked a very nice Massage in the evening and it was really relaxing!

J’ai passé un très agréable séjour dans cet hôtel. La chambre était belle, confortable et très agréable, avec un lit de grande qualité et l’air conditionné qui rendait les nuits vraiment reposantes. La piscine est superbe, nichée au cœur d’un magnifique jardin tropical où l’on peut observer des oiseaux et même des écureuils. L’ambiance y est paisible et très relaxante. Le personnel est discret, professionnel et toujours disponible en cas de besoin. Nous avons également profité d’un massage à l’hôtel, et c’était l’un des meilleurs que nous ayons faits. Une très belle expérience que je recommande vivement.

L’hôtel est un peu excentré si l’on n’est pas véhiculé. Nous étions en tuk‑tuk, ce qui fonctionne très bien.

Ce séjour était FABULEUX ! Tout d’abord, un grand merci pour cet accueil qui a été le plus chaleureux de notre voyage au Sri Lanka. Le petit jus de bienvenue, accompagné de l’accompagnement jusqu’à notre chambre, était vraiment adorable, et le personnel était si doux et attentionné 🥹 Je suis venue avec mon petit ami, nous sommes en road trip à travers l’Asie, et Unawatuna était notre dernière destination au Sri Lanka. Nous n’avons jamais eu un accueil aussi parfait, on en était vraiment touchés. L’espace jardin et la terrasse sont immenses, de quoi s’émerveiller avec la nature autour, le bruit des oiseaux et les petits écureuils courant sur les branches. C’était merveilleux et si agréable. Concernant le petit déjeuner, il était extrêmement copieux et délicieux (nous n’arrivions jamais à tout finir 😅). Encore MERCI pour TOUT ! ;) Je recommande à 100 % cet hébergement, vous ne serez pas déçus 🥰😇

La piscina, el desayuno, la amabilidad de Melanie. Nuestro vuelo salía a las 3 de la mañana y les pedimos si nos podíamos quedar en su hotel durante la tarde y ducharnos. Nos dejaron quedarnos en la misma habitación, muy amables y serviciales. Repetiríamos sin ninguna duda.

This was by far one of the best hospitality I have ever experienced in my travelling till date. Melani and her team are the most kind and lovely people. They hosted us like a family and all the requests were very well taken care of. It was the perfect wrap for our Sri Lanka trip and we departed for home with the best memories from here. The hospitality, warmth and friendliness of the team hosting this place is beyond words can say. The property in itself is very amazing and relaxing.

Excellent location in Unawatuna to explore turtle beach, jungle beach and Unawatuna. We planned to stay for 3 nights and extended to a week as this was by far the best location we stayed at in Sri Lanka. They serve a rich breakfast and can do meals. There is a big swimming pool, the area is kid friendly and there a lot of animals to watch in the beaitiful garden of this family run facility. They help with organizing the tours.

Beautiful and well-kept property with spacious, comfortable rooms. The family who runs it was incredibly kind and helpful, especially when it came to arranging my bus transportation to the next city. Breakfast was definitely my favorite part of the stay, and I loved being able to relax by the pool. A really lovely place to unwind.

The only small downside is that it’s a bit farther if you’re walking back and forth from the beach, but I found it very manageable—and it’s an easy, quick tuk-tuk ride if you prefer.

Nous avons été enchanté de notre séjour: le personnel est adorable et aux petits soins, le jardin exotique et la piscine sont très agréables. Des massages sontl proposés dans une petite salle spéciale. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et délicieux, la terrasse extérieure pour le prendre est parfaite. La chambre était propre, avec de l eau fraîche, un frigo et du thé à disposition. Bref, un plaisir d y séjourner.

Мы нашли этот оазис совершенно случайно! И остались в полном восторге!🩷 Чудесные хозяева окружили нас заботой и теплотой! Территория утопает в зелени : пальмы, цветущие деревья, газоны. Хозяева очень тщательно следят за порядком и чистотой, каждый день мыли бассейн, убирали территорию, вычесывали и стригли газон. Не было ни дня, чтобы нас не спросили: «все ли у вас хорошо?» В отеле шикарный завтрак! Его накрывают в отдельном кафе, твою порцию сервируют и готовят тогда, когда ты пришел, это просто идеально, не нужно спешить к определенному времени и устраивать шумную толкучку как в дешевой столовой. В завтрак входит несколько блюд, каждый день они меняются, большая тарелка фруктов, вы можете выбрать чай или кофе, вид приготовления яиц, и всегда к этому идет еще несколько видов закусок. Мы не пожалели, что выбрали проживание с завтраком, оно однозначно этого стоит! Наш номер: я влюбилась сразу же как в него зашла, просторная комната с шикарным видом на зеленую территорию, огромный балкон, есть вся необходимая мебель, кресла для отдыха , стол и стулья для работы или чаепития, в номере огромная кровать с балдахином, БОЛЬШОЙ, что важно, холодильник. Полноценный шкаф очень порадовал. Нам предоставили детскую кроватку, чему я была очень рада, наш ребенок спит только отдельно и это было крайне важно. В номере и вентилятор, и кондиционер. Было тихо, мы не слышали соседей. Ощущения что ты на своей маленькой вилле. Бассейн: большой, чистый, есть лежаки и зонты, ребенок был в восторге, да и мы тоже) На территории есть и кухня, и стиральная машина, которыми ты можешь воспользоваться в любое время. А еще по отелю, как у себя дома, гуляют различные животные, абсолютно не боясь ничего😍, как в национальном парке)) вараны, бурундучки, обезьянки, есть пруд с карпами. В эту поездку нам удалось побывать в другом районе и отеле, но там и близко такого не было, тут же настоящий природный оазис 🌴 Спасибо за наш чудесный отпуск! 💖 Мы обязательно вернемся снова!

Magnifique guesthouse dans un jardin luxuriant avec une belle piscine. La chambre familiale était spacieuse avec une grande salle de bain et extérieur. Personnel extrêmement gentil et très bon petit déjeuner. Nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Notre meilleur logement au Sri Lanka!

вилла далековато расположена, тук надо еще суметь вызвать если вы как и я не ездите на байке. Как выяснилось завтраки скудноватые, в других местах проживания кормили лучше) но мне как девушке вполне хватало) Расстроена была что бассеин грязный, те вода мутная( и в самый зенит не поплаваешь на вилле чтобы освежиться.

Was für eine tolle Unterkunft! Die Villa liegt etwas abgelegen vom Strand in sehr ruhiger Lage im Grünen. Die Anlage ist wunderschön. Ein großer Garten mit Pool und Hängematten, in dem die Affen um einen herum springen. Es gibt sogar eine kleine Yogaterrasse. Die Familie ist super lieb und die Atmosphäre auf dem Gelände ist toll. Alles ist sehr familiär und wir haben uns super willkommen gefühlt. Das Frühstück ist wirklich gut, es gab jeden Tag etwas anderes und dazu eine riesige Fruchtplatte. Und auch das Abendessen war super lecker. Ganz abgesehen davon gab es hier auch noch das beste WIFI, das wir in ganz Sri Lanka in den Unterkünften hatten. Wir können jedem nur ans Herz legen hier einen Zwischenstopp einzulegen.

Zeer vriendelijke mensen, ontbijt op je balkon, meedenkend en bovenal een fantastisch mooi verblijf zowel de accommodatie zelf als tuin waren echt super! En wij kregen zelfs een gratis kamer upgrade aangeboden.

Il giardino e la piscina bellissimi, la disponibilità e gentilezza del personale, l'ampiezza della camera e del bagno, la colazione e la cena. Avevamo dimenticato in camera un oggetto ed è stato spedito a casa del nostro driver. Abbiamo pagato le spese di spedizione alla famiglia che ce lo ha restituito. Comunque a Villa Gaetano sono stati gentilissimi ed onesti, perchè era un oggetto di valore.

Le jardin est grandiose avec beaucoup d'espaces, la piscine est super. Les propriétaires sont d'une extrême gentillesse. C'était un super hôtel. Dommage d'y avoir passé qu'une seule nuit !

Die Anlage des Hotels ist richtig hübsch und weitläufig, man kann Varane beim Sonnenbad beobachten und Affen auf den Dächern. Der Pool ist großzügig und auch der Essbereich ist nett gestaltet, unser Zimmer war groß, besonders der Sanitätbereich und alles sauber.

Wir hatten ursprünglich zwei Nächte gebucht und wurden mittags am Anreisetag benachrichtigt, dass unser Zimmer nicht bewohnbar sei, da im Badezimmer kein Wasser zur Verfügung steht. Wir mussten uns also spontan Ersatz suchen und konnten erst am Folgetag anreisen. Wir hätten dort gern mehr Zeit verbracht. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, allerdings brauchte es immer etwas Zeit, wenn man im Essbereich bestellen wollte.

Эта вилла сделала наш отдых незабываемым! Очень гостеприимный и внимательный персонал. Вилла утопает в зелени и это делает ее привлекательной для животных. На вилле живут бурундуки, часто видели обезьянок, павлинов, варанов. Очень много красивых деревьев и пальм и весь сад очень ухожен. Есть бассейн. До пляжей легко можно добраться на тук-туке. Семейный номер очень чистый и просторный. Мы еще долго будем вспоминать эти прекрасные и вкусные завтраки. Очень много фруктов. Наелись витамин перед возвращением домой.

Le superbe jardin très bien entretenu et la grande et belle piscine. La chambre était parfaite, propre et avec un balcon pour observer les animaux. Les repas sont délicieux. Nous avons aussi testé les massages proposés et c’était vraiment très bien. Mais plus que tout, c’est l’incroyable gentillesse et service de Melani qui nous aura marqué. Toute sa famille est très attachante. Véritable coup de cœur pour cet hébergement et gros pincement au cœur au moment de partir…

Lovely hosts and great room. We were in two bedroom which shares a bathroom - there is one bedroom and then you need to walk through another bedroom to get to the bathroom.

Eine der besten Unterkünfte, die wir während unseres Urlaubes hatten. Super nette Gastgeber und Familie, sehr höflich und engagiert. Garten und Anlage sehr gepflegt und sauber! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Loved the place

Hele aardige mensen, zeer uitgebreid ontbijt, nette kamer, veel dieren in de tuin. Kon mijn huurauto er parkeren.

Zwembad: lekker maar te weinig ligbedden voor het aantal gasten. Waarvan 2 van de 6 bedjes ook nog doorgezakt. We hadden de accomodatie kleinschaliger verwacht. Veel kamers en gasten.

Sehr schöne, gepflegte Anlage mit tollem Pool. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, das Bett bequem und das Badezimmer großzügig. Melani und ihr Mann sind sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist sehr vielseitig und lecker und auch das Abendessen ist zu empfehlen. Die Anlage ist eine Oase der Ruhe in dem sonst eher lauten Unawatuna. Eine tolle Unterkunft, sehr zu empfehlen.

That we had to leave.

We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Villa Gaetano. It’s in a quiet area away from the main resort of Unawatuna which is what we wanted. There are a few restaurants within walking/tuk tuk distance as well and the accommodation offers dinner options although we didn’t have dinner there. We did have breakfast each morning which was a mix of Western and Sri Lankan, slightly different each morning, tasty and generous. On arrival we received a refreshing welcome drink and greeted by Melani and her friendly staff. She told us we had been upgraded which was a lovely surprise. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom, air conditioning, a hairdryer, fridge and kettle.The pool area is clean and well maintained and an enjoyable place to relax and cool off. Extra towels are provided. The garden area is beautiful and relaxing. The main town/beach area is about a mile away and accessible by walking along the main road or tuk tuk. There are nearby train stations Unawatuna (walkable) and Talpe (650 in a tuk tuk). We took a train to Galle from Unawatuna which was very cheap (20 LKR each) and only 2 stops. We used pick me on arrival to the accommodation but Melani organised our tuk tuk to Talpe when we checked out. Payment is cash only

We loved the room and the facilities. Especially watching all the animals in the garden was very peaceful. The hosts are lovely people, and the breakfast was delicious. They cleaned our room in between our stay so that was lovely as well and helped us arrange the taxi to the airport. Would definitely recommend

The cleanliness and the state of the facility are the best we had in our three weeks trip through Sri Lanka. We used the pool in the evening and that was very pleasant. The food is freshly prepared and kudos to the top family team who made us feel very welcome.

Жили в новом номере который только построили, все продумано, горячая вода, вид со 2 этажа. Завтраки невероятные, много фруктов, омлет, кофе и разная выпечка. Хозяин гостеприимный, вежливый и добрый. Рассказал, что можем посетить, быстро отвечал на просьбы, однозначно рекомендую вам посетить это прекрасное место и пожить в нем! Фотографии соответствуют жилью

Die Gastgeber sind sehr lieb und bieten einem jede Hilfe an. Das Grundstück ist riesig mit einem tollen Pool und wunderschönen Garten. Das Frühstück und auch das Abendessen war sehr lecker und es waren immer große Portionen.

Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber, komfortabel und gut ausgestattet. Wir waren mit einem Kleinkind unterwegs und es war perfekt adaptiert. Der Garten ist sehr gepflegt und wir haben zahlreiche Tiere gesehen (Affen, Varane, Eichhörnchen, Fische, Vögel) Es war ein wirklich schöner Moment mit der Familie. Vielen Dank an Melani und ihrer Familie!

Für uns war es der Beste Aufenthalt den wir auf unserer vier wöchigen Reise hatten. Gamini und seine Tochter Melani sind zwei der nettesten Menschen überhaupt. Man fühlt sich Teil der Familie und einem werden viele Wünsche erfüllt. Das Grundstück bietet sehr viel unberührte Natur und man kann viele Tiere beobachten. Nicht zu vergessen der neue Pool in dem man toll Bahnen schwimmen und relaxen kann. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, sauber und sehr zufrieden stellend. Wenn ihr die Möglichkeit habt solltet ihr das hauseigene Curry essen - das war super lecker und hat uns sehr zugesagt.

Er werd gewerkt aan het zwembad, konden we daardoor niet gebruiken. We kregen wel de gelegenheid om het zwembad bij naastgelegen hotel te gebruiken, dus prima opgelost. Locatie is wat verder van Unawatuna en de stranden, dus wel altijd tuktuk nodig.

Undoubtedly the warmest welcome we have experienced in many years of holidays.. Owner Melani, her husband and their staff (Bavee is a real hero) are so friendly and really do everything to make you feel at home. Our apartment was very spacious and very tastefully decorated. The garden is a gem. Breakfast and dinner are very tasty. The only downside I can mention is that the sun loungers by the pool need replacing. The villa is quietly located, 5 minutes by tuktuk to the center of Unawatuna or the beaches (the hotel's tuktuk service costs you 600 LKR). We are at the beginning of our roundtrip through Sri Lanka. Still 8 hotels to go but we fear that the best stay is already behind us: the fantastic Villa Gaetano!

The people here were very friendly and kind. Our children had a great time here as there is a very big garden to explore.

This guesthouse is in a tropical paradise, surrounded by lush trees and SO much nature and wildlife. The gardens are beautifully kept and so peaceful. The only sounds are from the birds in the trees. This guesthouse is a 10 min drive to the main part or Unawatuna and away from the crowds. The pool is fab. Melani (owner) and her team are amazing- it’s a family affair and they are so attentive. They have tuk tuks and are happy to drive you around Unawatuna at a fee. The breakfast and dinner is delicious and freshly cooked. The kids loved spotting the monkey’s, monitor lizards, chipmunks and birds every day. We will definitely be back.

The villa was awesome to enjoy silence & calmness!! The rooms were very neat & clean. The washroom was very big in size like the room. The old fashioned antique look interior gave us a very different feel. The villa stuffs were very helpful & well behaved specially Melani was too caring. The greenary & the silence of the villa gave us tranquility! The breakfast & the cooking was very good in taste. The authority could add toothbrush,comb & paste for guests!!!Also room lighting & fan needs to be increased!! Like the "A Letter for you"!!

They took good care of us, let us check in earlier, made excellent breakfast and even better dinner. We had crab and fish for dinner and we really enjoyed it. It is located a little bit out of the city centre which is nice and quiet. We rented a scooter for some of the days from the hotel. We loved every bit of our stay 🫶

The pool could be a bit more clean and there is some noise because they are building new rooms at the property, but it does at change the fact that it was a 10/10 stay 😍🤩

Host was amazing and the villa very relaxing! We noticed some little monkeys on the morning which was an amazing experience for our kid.

Fantastic breakfast, such helpful hosts and the grounds are stunning. Having monkeys, monitor lizards, squirrels and the sound of birds all around you was incredible. We so valued staying slightly further inland as it meant you could go and retreat after the beach in a busy little town.

There was no hot water but we did get used to it.

Lovely place in idyllic setting. Staff were so kind and accommodating. Breakfast and evening meal were both delicious. Swimming pool was very inviting and we saw monkeys whilst in the garden.

Location was perfect for us as we had car but may be bit far out for some - still close to Galle and amenities thoughand no need to go out for food as the meals you could purchase were great value and v tasty.

The room was one of the best we’ve seen in Srilanka and this is the second time we visit the country. Comfy beds, good mosquito nets, welcome drink, clean room, clean bathroom, attentive staff… we didn’t use the pool because we d us not have time but it seemed a nice pool. The owner speaks good English and she was lovely. The silence at night was amazing The room smells amazing ( taking in consideration that that’s a weird thing in Srilanka where most of the hotels have musty smell

Is a bit far from town so taking a tuktuk can be tricky because is a remote street but the staff called tuktuks a for us

Beautiful location, green lushy garden and perfect accomodation: clean spacious and well-maintained. Lot of wildlife in garden

Location is somewhat far from village
