Great stay! The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was convenient to start the climb to Adam’s peak. Everything was exactly as expected. Overall, it was very good value for money. I would definitely stay here again!

The host was super friendly and amazing! We loved our stay. Thank you! He also organised transport for me to get to my next destination.
Sehr überaus freundliches Personal. Sehr gutes Essen.
Nice room, good size with balcony and nice view. Comfy bed, good bathroom. Good breakfast too and Pathum, who runs the place really takes care of you or any needs you might have. Worth the money and recommended.
Nothing of note.
We had a wonderful stay here, one of our favourite places on our Sri Lanka trip! The location is excellent with a beautiful river view, and only a short walk to the start of Adam’s peak. Pathum is a wonderful host and his cooking is delicious!
3 cómodas camas dobles para tres personas, estupenda habitación. La wifi funcionaba muy bien. El asistente muy pendiente de los clientes. Buen desayuno.
Staff welcomed & cared for us like family with warm, open hearts. The balcony had beautiful views to wake up to of the mountains with local wildlife like deer & birdsong. There are steps to a private & pristine nature area with clear, clean flowing water for sitting or swimming. The manager Patun & owner Renuka were exceptionally kind & professional. The restaurant & housekeeping services were just wonderful. Good connections were offered for local tours to waterfalls & temples at great prices. Hotel location is a short journey to the pilgrimage climbing Sri Pada mountain. Outstanding value for money offering highly affordable accommodation. A large spacious double room with very good furnishings. Hot water & a quality bathroom. Thank you so much for having us. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
Very closed to Adams Peak .. coffee or tea available before your early start . Big rooms with good view . We had dinner and breakfast , both were delicious and great value for money . The staff are very friendly and helpful .
Great value for money . Can’t fault it
Byli jsme opravdu velmi spokojeni. Můžu doporučit.
Abi welcomed us exceptionally well; he is really kind and attentive. The room is simple but comfortable, with a lovely balcony offering a beautiful view of the mountains. We appreciated being able to enjoy a late check-out—thank you for the flexibility!
The exterior of the property was under construction during our stay, which didn’t look very inviting. It’s possible to have dinner on site, but the quality of the meals is average.
Superb location for Adam's Peak and excellent value. Renuka was exceptionally good at communicating via WhatsApp and her staff, Abi and Pathun were fantastic throughout my 2 night stay. Abi is also a tuktuk driver and offers a nice afternoon trip to the Moray waterfall where you can swim. I was a solo female traveller and they were so respectful and helpful, cooked amazing food and prepared sandwiches for my hike and a takeaway breakfast for my early departure the next day. The room was very spacious and clean with a great hot water shower and big comfortable bed. The rooms also have a balcony with a view over the valley and a small garden with steps down to the river. This was one of my favourite stays in Sri Lanka and I really felt looked after! Don't be put off by the unfinished renovations of the upper floors...the actual facilities are simple but the service is exceptional!
It wasn't a problem for me but as the floors are concrete and not carpeted, you can sometimes hear the other guests so might be an issue for light sleepers.
Rapporto qualità prezzo eccezionale. Camera grande e pulita. Staff eccezionale e disponibile. Posizione ottima per l’adams peak. Cibo buono. Prezzi contenuti
La pressione dell’acqua. Ahimè scorreva veramente poco. Questo andrebbe migliorato.
Heerlijk bed, lekkere dekens. Enorm vriendelijk personeel, goede locatie
Perfektní velký pokoj, čistý, paní nám půjčila baterky na výstup na Adams peak a uvařila na ráno čaj. Skvělé místo na výstup na Adams peak. Pak nám domluvila i tuk tuk za výhodnou cenu.
The staff at this place are some of the kindest people i have had the pleasure of meeting. They made sure that we were comfortable at our time there. The food was amazing and we were never left without tea/coffee. If you are climbing Adam's Peak then you have to stay here.
nothing to not like!
The host renuka didi is best...... And the food aslo Its a very good place to stay
Unfortunately, we were not able to stay at this property due to a hosts’ unexpected event. We would like to have been informed a little earlier, but understand that it may have not been possible. Nonetheless, the host’s family arranged a night for us in a nearby hotel and everything went okay. You can walk from the accommodation to the start of Adams Peak/Sri Pada trail.
The entrance to Queens Ark property is a little tricky to find. It would be nice to receive more detailed instructions on how to find the property previously.
During our Sri Pada hike, we descended to Nallathanniya from Udamaliboda , completely exhausted and drenched from the heavy rain. It was quite late in the evening when we made our booking, but the host was extremely supportive and gave both my sister and me a warm welcome, which we truly appreciated. The room exceeded our expectations spacious, clean, and equipped with hot water. The bathroom was also clean and tidy. We were able to get a good rest here after the long journey. The rate was very reasonable for two people. Highly recommended for any tired hikers looking for comfort and kindness after a tough trail.
Nothing.
Queens Ark is the perfect place to stay if you want to climb Adam’s Peak. The beds are very comfortable. However, you can hear some noise from the building itself, so earplugs are recommended if you are a light sleeper. The shower and toilet are excellent, and everything is spacious and spotlessly clean. The owner is incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely interested. We even played a game with him. Don’t be put off by the entrance: like many buildings in Sri Lanka, the hotel is partly under construction. You have to walk through what looks like a construction site, but once inside, everything is perfectly arranged. We had dinner at the hotel twice, and the food was delicious – especially the curry. Breakfast was great too, with a tasty omelet. Tips for climbing Adam’s Peak A warning: do not attempt the climb during the weekend. We encountered a traffic jam close to the summit and had to turn back after three hours. If you notice a traffic jam (ask people coming down when you are near the top), take the detour at the large Buddha statue to the right. This will add about twenty minutes to your climb but will bring you straight to the summit. The main route leads to the temple first, not directly to the top. Tip: you can easily find the detour route on the Maps.me app. We left at 2:15 a.m. and took about 3.5 hours to reach the top. Bring some toilet paper and a warm sweater. You don't need to carry too much water, as you can buy it along the way. After returning, Nimal prepared a wonderful breakfast for us, and we enjoyed four hours of well-deserved sleep. In the evening, we had another delicious meal. Highly recommended
Be aware that you can easily hear departing guests through the echoing hallway, so earplugs are recommended if you are a light sleeper.
The best thing about this hotel is the owner, Nimal. Such a friendly guy and will go out of his way to ensure you have a great stay. It was school holidays and his family were around. It really felt like a friendly home stay! His wife cooked us the most delicious curries with chicken, Dahl, pappadam, coconut sambal, vegetables- prepared for our late arrival on first evening and we ate in their lovely colourfully decorated dining area. Dinner was so good, we asked for it again next night! Breakfast was also delicious with tropical fruits, eggs, roti, toasts, fresh squeezed juices etc. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. It’s only a short walk to start of Adam’s Peak trail. We were there during Sri Lankan NY holidays (April). Was so busy with local religious pilgrimage (scores of busloads) that we decided not to climb. Not our kind of walking- we like nature and tranquility. Instead, Nimal suggested a walk through tea plantations and to see two beautiful waterfalls. It was so scenic and incredibly peaceful and it surpassed the thought of fighting crowds trying to get up Adam’s Peak. My sons even had a swim. The area itself is just incredibly beautiful and worth visiting!
The entrance to the hotel is unfinished (Nimal is saving for his next building stage) and in fact it’s a little hard to recognise it as a hotel at all from the street. Never mind, once you are in you will be made to feel incredibly at home. Our family occupied the two lower rooms, very peaceful and quiet with little garden and river outlook (couldn’t hear the traffic on street) but there was a slight dampness in the air. If you can, request an upper room as they are more airy.
Room was huge, clean and with a great view. I arrived at 8pm and they cooked me an incredible dinner and made me a packed lunch for my 3am hike the following day.
Nothing!
Such a nice place to stay, the owner Nimal is an incredibly kind and attentive host. We arrived so much later than expected and he was still up waiting for us with food ready to serve and a warm welcome. We stayed at an exceptionally busy time of year, there was so much traffic on the road outside but the hotel rooms are set down the cliff from the road so you couldn't hear any of the traffic, the room was actually so peaceful. The entrance to the accommodation doesn't look like much but don't let it fool you, the interior is very comfortable, the balconies have stunning views and the food provided was absolutely delicious. If you're staying to climb Adams peak, this hotel is so close to the base that you can start walking straight from it. Nimal also knows a lot about the hike so if you have any concerns he is really informative.
It was all good in my opinion.
Breakfast was good and tasty.
Nimal was very helpful and he offered a hoodie for the hike because I didn't have anything to protect me from the cold and prepared snacks for the hike. He was very hospitable and friendly. The location of the hotel is less than a 15 minute walk to the starting point of the Adam's Peak hike.
Room and bed could be cleaner Bed was a bit small for me but that's my problem (187 cm tall) Heater did not work
There is no better stay than here. Honestly. We pre-booked only 1 night but stayed for 4 nights instead. Our TukTuk lost function on our way to the accommodation and I got sick while being here. Namil (the host) managed to turn these worst-case-scenarios in best-case-scenarios. He is the best host one could wish for. My girlfriend and I always felt very welcomed, understood and almost like home. The rooms are clean, spacious with very cosy beds. During my sickness I had plenty of options to worship the beautiful view from our windows. The food cooked here is remarkable and belongs to the best food we have eaten during our 3-weeks-Trip through Sri Lanka. Food is always freshly made and adjusted to your needs. Namil will always be there for you and will care for you like you are family. We hope to have found a friend here. We highly recommend considering (and picking) this accommodation for your stay.
Lovely views, really nice food and friendly staff - a good base to do Adam’s Peak from!
We stayed for only one night at Queens Ark because we wanted to hike up Adam's Peak. In retrospect we should have stayed at least one more night and explored the area a bit more. Nimal and his family are wonderful hosts and told us about other interesting hikes to nearby waterfalls, that we regrettably couldn't do. The place is comfy and quiet at night, the view from the breakfast/dinner table and the room is great and the food delicious and plentiful. Nimal prepared sandwiches and bananas for the hike and made sure we had a wonderful stay. Definitely recommended!
A 10 minutes walk to the initial walk to hike the Adam’s Peak. The host was so so so nice! He took care of everything for us.. dinner, breakfast, food to take to the hike, finding us a driver… that was very convenient!
Very nice setting, really good dinner, spacious room
From outside is under construction, more steps))) after Adams Peak
Everything was awesome. The Location (close to Adams Peak Entrance), the view, the staff, the food! We had a really nice stay and really enjoyed the time.
Nothing
The photos do not do this justice. The place is stunning and the views are incredible. The host was so attentive! We were welcomed with drinks and the breakfast was huge and delicious. The place is clean, beautiful and safe. Highly recommend!
Nothing
great location and great hospitality. breakfast is really nice. thank you so much.
My friend and I stayed for a few nights to climb Adam's Peak and do some sections of the Pekoe trail. The hotel is walking distance (around 10-15 minutes) to the entrance of Adam's Peak. We appreciated our very friendly hosts, the large and well-furnished room, and the great food!
The welcome and service were great. Very caring and kind. We were welcomed with tea and asked if we wanted dinner. When we left to hike Adam’s Peak at 2am, there was coffee ready and also a packed lunch of toasties and bananas.
The hotel is a work-in-progress. It's on a hill with a bunker style entrance with no reception. You might seem like you've made a mistake in booking but rest assured once you arrive they will go above and beyond to make your stay a very pleasant one. We chose it for the location and it's proximity to Adams Peak. Only about 400 meters to the start. The staff very friendly. They're a small family run inn with everyone going over and above to make your stay as comfortable possie and they do it with a smile. Nimal, his wife, brother and other staff are a great team of hospitable people. The food was very tasty and flavourful. We had all 3 meals in the two days we stayed whilst climbing Adams peak and they made sure the food was served hot and I felt like I was having home cooked meals. Sri lankan food was done well. The sandwiches were simple but enjoyable and filling. The curries were thick and flavourful. They weren't stingy on ingredients and portion sizes either. The toilets are new and elegantly designed with good hot water. I'm very fussy about the bathrooms being clean and also pleasing to the eye and I was not disappointed.
It lacks amenities and the rooms are very basic but the beds are comfortable . I know they're working hard to complete the project and will eventually be a great place to stay if you plan on climbing Adams peak.
The rooms was big&comfy but the building is under construction. It was not bothering us, but someone could be. Good point to start the voyage to Adam's peak.
Clean spacious rooms.
Excellent host Nimal.
It's a really good please for visiting Adams Peak. The host is really helpful and friendly. I can really recommend.
Dinner and water are little bit expensive
The hospitality and cleanliness
Nimal was the greatest host and the room was cozy and clean, with great views. We had a great breakfast and curry dinner. We also used the laundry services and the results were satisfactory.
Nimal is a very attentive host. He prepares sandwiches for the hike to Adam's Peak, he cooks very delicious and he always has time for a little small talk to his guests. As he enjoys to communicate with them. I spent two nights there in a nice room with an amazing view and a hot shower. I can definitely recommend that place.
I recently stayed at Hotel Nallathanniya: Queen’s Ark, and it was a pleasant experience. The owner is friendly and welcoming. The room was simple, which met my expectations for the price. The location is a major highlight—perfectly positioned as a starting point for the walk to Adam’s Peak, making it very convenient for early-morning hikers. The pricing is reasonable, offering good value for money considering its strategic location. Overall, a good choice for those looking for a practical place to stay near the trailhead.
Clean and spacious room, good facilities, host was very friendly in the beginning, welcome drinks,
The owner was in the beginning really nice, even offering a welcome drink. He also offered dinner but couldn’t give us a menu when we asked for it. As he said they prepared some rice and noodles in the kitchen we just agreed on some veggie curry and rice. Because he didn’t say a price before and gave us the feeling of something pre cooked we just assumed an easy affordable meal just as we got at other guest houses before. And it was delicious but not enough to get completely satisfied (we are two small women, not eating too much). In the end he charged way too much for this portion and in comparison to other restaurant prices around. Seemed to be the strategy to just not give guests any menu and give them the feeling of fair prices just to overcharge them in the end. Also we experienced drinking water to be for free in most guest houses before, but when we asked for that he laughed at us and then we had to buy it from him. Overall the hotel was good, rooms were clean and really spacious, but we left it with a strange feeling.
Definitely stay at Queens Ark if you are looking to hike Adam’s Peak. The accommodation is in an ideal location and 10 minutes to the start of the hike. The rooms are very spacious and clean and great en suite bathroom with hot water. Nimal is an exceptional host and is on hand to provide help whenever you need it. He has hiked Adam’s Peak many times so can advise on what to wear, what to take, timings etc. They made us a great dinner the night before the hike and great large breakfast when we got back down in the morning. Nimal also made us some sandwiches to take with us and arranged our onward travel. Could not recommend this hotel enough. View from the room was also lovely (photo attached).
Nothing - it was perfect .
Good location to climb Sri pada! Very nice holster and delicious food!
We had a very nice stay at Queensark. The hosts are very friendly and have very interesting stories about Sri Lanka and about the nature and animals in that region. The room was very big, has a beautiful view and was very clean. The location is perfect for climbing Adam's Peak and they provided us with a food/drink package!
The food is perhaps a bit more expensive.
Very friendly staff, great service for the adams peak hike (tea and breakfast to go) and very clean rooms
-Big room -Great beds with comfortable blankets -Nice staff members -Good location for Adam's peak (Breakfast available for takeaway)
I think we were a bit unlucky here. The premises looks nice, it's still under construction. Our room was nice and tidy, but it looked unfinished. The small details were off, for example the door of bathroom didn't close normally. -We didn't get hot shower. -The food was disappointing, and unfortunately because of language barrier we had some problems with ordering the food. -When checking out there was mistake on the last bill, that I had to point out the get fixed.
Nimal was super welcoming to us. We enjoyed a nice dinner there before hiking Adams Peak. He helped us arranging transport to Kandy next day with visits to waterfalls.
A lot of hospitality, they think along with you
Everything was good, after a few minutes the hot water runs out and then we just have to wait for new hot water. Everything else was fantastic!
Location is perfect to go by walk to Adam’s peak. Very beautiful surrounding and great host
Lovely and friendly host who made us a beautiful dinner and packed breakfast for us to take on our hike up to Adam’s Peak for sunrise. It’s in a great location and good facilities.
We loved this place so much! The rooms are huge, comfortable, clean, and with beautiful views of the mountains. We visited during the off season so pretty much had the place to ourselves, we spoke to the host and listened to his stories and knowledge about Sri Lanka which we really enjoyed - he's also an excellent cook! Would definitely recommend.
Nothing :)
Gorgeous place with lovely views out to a stream, tea plantation and mountains. The host Nimal is very welcoming and cooks delicious food. Rooms are modern, spacious & clean. Easy 10-15min walk to the start of Adam’s peak. We would highly recommend staying here & wished we could have stayed longer!
Nothing
Excellent host. Savage food curry for dinner and a huge breakfast when we finished adams peak. And the hostel constantly full of chat.
Nothing absolutely perfect for what we wanted
Very Good place meals very tasty and clean meals ready on time ,Friendly service If we request our meal requirement they are very expert to match it with tasty
The Guest house was very nicely decorated and clean, the rooms very spacious and the views were incredible. It’s a peaceful location and you can look out over the green luscious hills from your bedroom and balcony. Nimal is a great host, who is there to advise all about the hike up Adam’s peak. The breakfast and dinner are very good and tasty. Would definitely stay again and recommend
Nothing
The owner was super friendly and food was fresh and tasty. Good for a night stay when visiting Adam's Peak.
There was no mosquito net or fan in the room. However we got some upon request. Without fan and AC it would be impossible for us to get some sleep as it's still hot for average EU tourists. There was some repair jobs being done when we stayed, and also we had room close to dining areas, so it was bit noisy at times.
Nimal, the owner of the property was a nice guy and he gave us some helpful information on how to climb the Adams peak.
