SunRay Rest - Beach View Homestay

The location is amazing, super close to the beach and Coconut Tree Hill. The owner and his family are incredibly friendly, kind, and adorable. They made me feel very welcome and comfortable during my stay. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend this place!

Nous avons adoré l'emplacement : l'accès direct depuis le jardin à la plage, la proximité immédiate avec la célèbre ''Coconut Tree Hill'', les restaurants accessibles à pied... Notre hôte était très gentil et prévenant. Tout cela a contribué à ce que l'on passe un très bon séjour à Mirissa. .

The location was great, close to the beach. You can see the beach from the balcony, has a private walkway to the beach. The breakfast was great too. Staffs were very friendly.

The room was very basic. No toothpaste, brush, shampoo were given in the washroom. Although the staffs were very friendly, they were difficult to reach. May be it was because of the off-season.

Наш отдых на вилле был замечательным, и мы остались очень довольны. Вилла с потрясающим видом на океан, особенно понравился просторный балкон, где приятно было проводить время. Номер простой, но чистый и достаточно просторный. Но самый прикол, это сон под шум океана - это просто невероятно расслабляюще. Атмосфера здесь очень душевная, во многом благодаря хозяевам- это невероятно приятные и отзывчивые люди, которые готовы помочь с любым вопросом. Чувствуется искреннее гостеприимство. Завтраки простые, но вкусные, омлет, блинчики, тосты, свежие фрукты, чай, кофе - отличный вариант, чтобы начать день. До ближайшего пляжа всего 5 минут пешком, и там можно увидеть черепах - обязательно берите с собой маску с трубкой или возьмите ее в аренду на месте. Рядом с виллой хорошая инфраструктура: автобусная остановка, магазины, фруктовые лавки, кафе, - все в шаговой доступности. Недалеко также находится знаменитый холм с пальмами Coconut Tree Hill, очень красивое место. Отличное, атмосферное место для спокойного и приятного отдыха, куда хочется возвращаться!

location was amazing since it was right in front of the beach. we stayed during the low season so we were able to enjoy the beach and ocean to the fullest as well. hotel is family run and the family were warm and hospitable. if you’re looking for luxury standard this place might not be it but if you’re looking for a peaceful home stay ambiance this place is perfect!! and we were able to catch the sunset every day as well right from our balcony 😍

only problem to me was not being air conditioned but they did have that option as well. we weren’t aware of it at the time of booking so make sure to pick ac room if you’re looking for that.

Die Lage ist überragend und insgesamt war die Unterkunft sauber. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut.

Unser Moskitonetz war leider sehr dreckig.

Очень скромный гестхаус с очень приветливыми хозяевами. Понравились завтраки и расположение - выход очень близко прямо на пляж с черепахами. Можно поплавать с черепахами. В остальном цена на мой взгляд завышена, потому что комнаты и коридоры выглядят довольно потрепанными и нуждаются в ремонте. Выбрал это место только из-за расположения, оно действительно классное! Было радостно, что есть холодильник и возможность пользоваться чайником для заваривания чая и кофе и кухней, чтобы нарезать фрукты. Через дорогу есть очень комфортное йога-кафе с супербыстрым интернетом, кондиционером и вкусным капучино и латте. Рекомендую съездить на Thalaramba Beach, там меньше народу и можно поплавать с черепахами!

Qué lugar maravilloso!!! Sencillo en primera línea del mar, vimos unos atardeceres hermosos. Sus dueños, una familia súper amable y buena. La habitación era enorme y cómoda. Tiene su salida exclusiva a una playa pequeña donde puedes alquilar unas tumbonas a muy buen precio en el bar. Podíamos dejar nuestra comida y bebida en la heladera del alojamiento y acceder a la playa en solo un minuto. Lo súper recomiendo!

Le couple de personne qui s'occupent de cet endroit sont adorable. La chambre n'a rien à envier aux grands hotel juste en face que nous avons aussi fait plus tôt. La vue du balcon sur le jardin et la mer un peu plus loin est très jolie, et le bruit des vagues pour s'endormir est très agréable. La plage est littéralement au bout du jardin, pas besoin de traverser la route de l'autre côté pour aller à la plage. Nous avons adoré, le rapport qualité prix est top.

The property was in a great location right on the beach front and near parrot rock, Mirissa beach and coconut tree hill. The family that run the home stay were so lovely and answered any questions I had. Excellent for the price, we had washing done as well which was a reasonable price.

The property could have been a bit cleaner particularly the bathroom and if there had been A/C it would have been perfect but we really struggled with the heat - entirely my fault as I didn’t read the description properly but that would be the only thing stopping me coming back.

Lokalizacja obiektu w porządku, śniadanie smaczne, a personel miły. Pod prysznicem była ciepła woda. Z balkonu ładny widok na ocean.

Ogólnie miejsce raczej zaniedbane. W pokoju było średnio czysto, nie było klimatyzacji tylko wiatrak który chodził dość głośno. Na moskitierze sporo kurzu.

One road ahead is the road entry to coconut hill. Old man working here is a nice man but his children are not.

Very hard beds and pillows. Internet is useless. breakfast cheapest possible. Everything is dirty. Mirror doesn't see detergent for months. This same drapery, tablecloth. Beach that you have access to from this place is almost non-existent loots of breakwater here. I attached a beach entry from this place in photos. First time I saw it I thought that this is sawage. This is a good representation of this whole place. If you want to go to Merissa beach you must either go through lots of breakwater and sawage or thru main road (good look for your lungs). This place is useless even for a night crash. Make yourself a favor and go to the end of merissa Beach and search for something around Harbour road plenty of accommodations here some even cheaper all better

Very cozy homestay with adorable and kind hosts! The apartment has a private entrance to the beach and we could swim there every morning. Amazing views from the balcony and comfortable beds. Had warm showers too. The breakfast was simple but sufficient

De mensen zijn erg vriendelijk. De oudere man spreekt goed Engels en verwees ons naar alles wat we konden bekijken en hoe er te komen. Dichtbij het strand. Ontbijt was lekker. Matrassen eat harder maar nog steeds prima.

All was amazing

Really close to the beach. You can literally get to the beach via their garden! The garden is really calm and I spent some time there reading and watching the sunset! The family running it is great and they accommodated my later check in and check out. Super clean and big big room!

This location simply cannot be beat. Right on the beach, really beautiful and clean, and 5 minutes away from Coconut Hill Tree. I really enjoyed my stay here. The accommodation is very simple and definitely in need of renovation, but it still has a wonderful atmosphere and the hosts are super nice and pleasant. 100% recommended if you don't mind simplicity.

La familia que lo regenta es espectacular, super amables. Las habitaciones son amplias aunque sin aire acondicionado hace bastante calor. Tiene una salida a la playa y el desayuno es fantástico. Repetiré si vuelvo a Mirissa!

Потрясающее место. Лучший в округе живописнейший уютный немноголюдный пляж с лучшим видом и без опасных течений, в отличие от городского пляжа. Достопримечательности, магазины всё в шаговой доступности. Очень радушные и заботливые хозяева, я должна была ехать дальше, но передумала и продлила своё проживание здесь. Обалденный балкон, очень много места, шум океана. Черепахи заплывают. Идеальное место для пляжного медитативного отдыха на Шри-Ланке. К сожалению, на кухне нельзя готовить - нет плиты, можно только разогревать в микроволновке, но в округе много кафе.

This was incredibly beautiful stay. Great location, incredibly kind and fully met my expectations. On top of everything they were very helpful when I forgot an item and they helped shipping it to another location since I left already. Can highly recommend and would totally go again.

Its in front of the beach, but not directly commutable to beach. Room was spacious but kind of old style.

Bed, flooring n furniture was not that great. Also there was a some odour due to closing of the room without any air inside the room.

The owners are super kind and helpful ! The location is great just 2min walk from coconut tree hill and 5min from city center by Tuktuk. The breakfast was really good and the room was spacious and clean

It’s right by the beach with ocean views from the balcony. It’s also a stones throw from coconut tree hill and ten minutes to parrot rock. The room is big with a ceiling fan and mosquito net. There are chairs in the room and on the balcony. Breakfast was really good and lots of variety. Host and his parents were kind and lovely to deal with. I enjoyed my short stay very much. I had dinner at Dhana‘s curry pot - highly recommended but there are loads of options close by. The beach is a lovely stretch and I swam directly in front of the house. It’s a basic room with no tv or kettle but location is what you can’t beat for the price. Bathroom had good hot water too.

Great location, walking distance to beaches, restaurant and tourist spots. Good breakfast. The family running the home stay was amazing. All very caring and quick to help you with anything.

It was really close to the beach, and I have to say that this was the nicest snorkeling beach that I have been at in a while.

I felt it was a bit expensive, when you arrive it doesn’t look like a hotel at all. It really looks like a rundown old building with a tall fence/Gate and a little hard to find because it is not looking like the other hotels on the street . Shocking to me initially. The owners are a family and the reception is their living room.

I really enjoyied my stay there. The room was big enough, we had a very nice balcony, right by the beach. Delicious and rich breakfast in the morning. The location is a little far from the center but in our case it was ok as we like walking

Sometimes was noise from construction work of near building, but it wasn't big problem.

Location right next to the beach. Balcony view at the ocean was marvellous and calm and take you into deep thoughts thinking there is nothing ahead but the Antarctica down there. super friendly lovely host , Coziness and of course there was a doggo to accompany you and play with you on the beach

Bathroom door lock was not working properly

a small structure managed by a local family. everyone was very kind and helpful. the property is located near the turtle beach where you can actually swim with turtles

They could take care of the garden and common areas a little more.

The location is great, just a few steps from the beach and coconut tree hill. The family is welcoming and super nice and they help organize the transportation to our next destination.

The bed was not the most comfortable.

As simple as the house is, it has a cozy vibe, being less than 50 steps from the beach and just on the main road to catch the bus or walk to explore Mirissa. The host family are amazing ♥️ I stayed here in January 2023 and came back. I was welcomed as one of the family and Mr Sunray offered me a welcome back gift. The breakfast is freshly prepared every morning, the room was clean, spacious and had a desk for me to work online.. Can't wait to be back 🙏😍
