Reviewed Mar 13, 2026Wir waren zwei Nächte im Honey Cottage auf dem Weg nach Invercargill. Das Cottage hat alles was man braucht und der Hotspot ist natürlich ein Highlight. Das ist übrigens ein gutes Stichwort, denn Michael hat uns den Gasbrenner für den Hotspot angezündet - ein kleines Abenteuer. Außerdem merkt man, dass man auf einer Working-Farm ist, also in die allerletzten Ecken würde ich nicht schauen. Witzig ist das hochgelegte Bett, das man eigentlich nur mit einer kleinen Leiter erreichen kann. Wir wählten deshalb zusätzlich das ausklappbare Bettsofa, dass erstaunlich gut war. Alles sehr entspannt, man kümmerte sich nicht groß um uns, was uns aber Gefühl. Highlight ist übrigens bei klarer Nacht der Sternenhimmel, den man vom Hochbett gut betrachten kann. Wie häufig in NZ sind die Sandflys hartrnäckig aber das muss man ertragen. Wir fanden es gut für zwei Nächte. Kleiner Geheimtipp: besuchen sie die Lonely Graves und die tolle alte Hängebrücke über den Clutha-River ( nur 15 km entfernt, die Offroad Strecke ist eigentlich kein Problem).

Just a couple of small things this time, we ran out of toilet paper, a fresh deck of cards would be fabulous and found 2x shampoo in shower rather than a shampoo and conditioner but to be fair I should just bring my own!

Reviewed Jan 18, 2026Top place to stay. Great view with friendly hosts in a very peaceful location, I especially loved the spa and the full bay opening doors that open up to a view of the hills. Hosts were most accommodating and had no issues with my grandkids staying at last minute.
I had to ponder this for a moment...and no I don't recall anything that isn't just personal preference.

We honestly loved every bit of it — the hot tub with the stunning mountain views, the cosy wooden stove that kept us warm, and all the thoughtful little touches like having mobile chargers ready for us. Every tiny detail was taken care of, and it truly made this the best part of our whole trip. The honey tasting was such a sweet experience and it honestly made me want to buy every type of honey you have — it was that good! We also had the most incredible night stargazing; it felt magical. We really regret not staying longer because we didn’t want to leave! This has been, without a doubt, the best stay we’ve had in our lifetime. We’ll definitely be posting a great review, and we’ll 100% be back for another stay. Thanks again for everything, Tracey — you made our trip unforgettable. Thank you Tracy and Micael.

Reviewed Oct 8, 2025Gorgeous little cottage with beautiful views. Kitchen well equipped - with bench top oven, portable cooktop and good little barbecue, no problems self catering. Nice and warm with fire on. Great to have a hot tub. Honey tasting and complementary honey a wonderful bonus. Not far from the Clutha Gold bike trail. Very friendly and helpful hosts.
At first we didn’t find the portable electric heater that allows warmth when the fire is not required.

Lovely view and they had the fire going before we hot there, Lovely and warm (plus electric blanket was put on for us, awesome) Loved all the bee art and bee info book. We had a very relaxing stay.
Would have loved a bigger TV (was a bit small for the space, plus we suggest the cables were popped away, as everything else in cabin is just so cute) A privacy wall between hot tub and entrance to the accommodation as the farm area which had people working in that area. That would be great. BUT we absolutely loved this stay

An added bonus the honey tasting and the complimentary honey to take home! Views are exceptional over the farmland and hills surrounding!

Reviewed Feb 6, 2025A delightful and relaxing stay on the grounds of Wrights Honey Farm. We enjoyed the hot tub and fluffy robes to put on afterwards (someone said the tub was dirty but we found it very clean - the water is changed before each arrival). Wifi worked well. Kitchen is well equipped - microwave, double hot plates, Weber barbecue, toaster oven, etc. As others have mentioned, the bed is indeed very high and we needed the provided footstool to get into it. But the height allows you to lie in bed and gaze at the stars and the fabulous view through the panoramic window. The cottage is secluded and private so no need to close the blind.
