Reviewed Sep 18, 2026It’s beautiful the whole place our room was gorgeous with beautiful views, clean and comfortable, and the rain shower was over the top. The staff is so kind and welcoming. The breakfast is incredible so many choices.

Perfect location along the Camino, next to the plaza, river and bridge. Eva prepared a full breakfast in the morning to send off all the Camino pilgrims. Delightful inn and would stay again!

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026El desayuno excelente. Muchísima variedad de productos frescos y de calidad. Ubicación inmejorable para moverse por Porto de Lima. Cuarto confortable, silencioso, con colchones comodísimos, y acceso a una completa cocina común donde se puede cocinar productos básicos y guardar alimentos en el refrigerador. En mi opinión, inmejorable. Personal muy amable, dispuesto a ayudar siempre. En el día de check out, nos guardaron el equipaje hasta la hora que quisimos, y nos dieron acceso a un aseo común para lo que necesitamos. Fue perfecto.
No creo que nada pudiese haber ido mejor.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Gostei muito do processo de check in e check out muito simplificado e eficaz, a simpatia como fui recebido e o pequeno almoço foi fantastico, adorei o quarto e a sua vista para a zona historica. No geral gostei de tudo, e concerteza que irei voltar e recomendar o alojamento. Adorei toda a envolvencia da historia do local onde era uma antiga mercearia, conhecer toda a historia da mercearia da vila e o seu fundador.
Apenas achei os colchões das camas muito moles.

Reviewed Aug 20, 2026Mercearia da Villa is a former grocery store started by the owners grandparents. It has been in the family for 3 generations. It’s full of charm and character. The rooms have a good size, comfortable mattresses, ac units and very clean. The best location in town. Right in the center of town without any of the noise, except for the church bells which I quite enjoyed. Breakfast is provided daily in a very comfortable and charming room right where the store used to be. tThe staff is very attentive and owner also present most mornings to provid additional information about the town, and it’s rich history.

Breakfast was very good with coffee tea, bread, juices, home baked cakes and local fruit. The staff was wonderful and very helpful when requested. Me and my family enjoyed a lot.

We were worried it would be really hot up there, but the A/C worked to keep the space cool. That helped us get a good night sleep. Very delicious breakfast. Great place, and highly recommended.

Transporta-nos no tempo, mostrando como eram as casas antigas, mas com todo o conforto dos dias de hoje. A sala de pequeno-almoço é muito bonita e a refeição é muito completa, com produtos frescos e de grande qualidade. Toda a equipa é bastante atenciosa e profissional, tendo atendido a todos os nossos pedidos. Vou lembrar-me sempre desta estadia. Voltaria sem qualquer dúvida; o único problema foi mesmo ter de fazer o check-out!
Não houve nada de que não tivesse gostado. Estava tudo ótimo, por isso não tenho qualquer ponto negativo a apontar.

Reviewed Jun 22, 2026Es war ein einmaliges Erlebnis, in einem historischen Gebäude mit moderner Einrichtung zu wohnen, in dem das frühere Lebensmittelgeschäft der Eltern bzw. der Großeltern der Besitzer perfekt erhalten ist. Dieses Erbe wird liebevoll gepflegt und ist im wunderschönen Frühstücksraum mit den alten Utensilien vom Kafferöster über den großen Pfeffermörser bis zur originalen Getreidemühle eindrucksvoll präsent. Das Frühstück ist übrigens ausgezeichnet, mit viel Obst und Körnern, biologischen Produkte und selbst gemachten Konfitüren un Kuchen.. Perfekt!

Attractive old style furniture but all facilities including air conditioning worked well. Mattresses were very comfortable. Plenty of free parking available by the river but this may be more restricted on market days.
Breakfast was fine but not outstanding but really nothing to complain about.

O pequeno almoço podia ser melhor. Por exemplo ter ovos cozidos ou mexidos, uma coisa simples e que sabe bem.

Exceptional hosts who explained it was a family home with artefacts displayed from their family heirloom collection. Breakfast was delicious sat amongst an amazing collection of artefacts such as a coffee roaster and a coffee grinder and all kinds of Kitchenalia. A stunning place to stay in a stunning city.

Reviewed Apr 25, 2026Amazing central location with views over the river and church. Comfortable spacious apartment with all the mod cons with an interesting history as a grocery store. The owner accommodated our bikes and was very welcoming. Amazing breakfast. We were surprised by the Monday markets that appeared overnight that were the largest and most diverse we’ve ever experienced in our travels.
We couldn’t get the air conditioning unit to cool but could have been user error!
