We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. The staff were exceptionally kind, polite, and genuinely caring, always making sure we felt comfortable and well looked after. Our room offered a stunning view of the Swayambhu Stupa, which made every morning and evening special. The hotel is surrounded by beautifully maintained garden which offers a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The rooftop terrace is another highlight, offering breathtaking views and a perfect place to unwind. We also appreciated the well-equipped and convenient kitchen, which made our stay even more comfortable. Overall, this is a beautiful and relaxing place with excellent service, lovely green surroundings, and unforgettable views. We would be happy to stay here again.
The only very minor drawback is some noise at night from barking dogs and occasional pre-dawn religious rituals coming from the Swayambhu Stupa and the surrounding Buddhist temples. I suppose these sounds are part of life everywhere in Kathmandu. Earplugs are highly recommended and make it easy to sleep well. However, this is more than compensated for in the morning, when the rising sun is welcomed by the beautiful songs of Oriental magpie-robins and the crowing of roosters, creating a unique and memorable atmosphere.
A lovely place to stay in Kathmandu. Quiet, clean, and full of charm. The hosts made me feel very welcome, and the rooftop view was beautiful. I would definitely stay here again!

Here is a peaceful place near Swyambhunath. Very quiet in a small path and have birds sound around. Everything is so clean here and with lovely staff : )

We had the pleasure of staying for a week at the Swayambhu View Guest House, and we can highly recommend this place! The owner and her brother are incredibly friendly and helpful. You can really tell how much effort they put into making their guests feel welcome. One particularly impressive experience was when we forgot our phone in the taxi from the airport to the guest house – they somehow managed to track down the driver, and we got our phone back. That was truly amazing and shows how dedicated they are! The accommodation itself is excellent: very clean, comfortable beds, and everything you need is provided. The location is safe and perfect for exploring Kathmandu. We especially loved the beautiful garden and the lovely rooftop terrace, which is a great place to relax. We felt completely at home and would definitely come back. Highly recommended – absolutely deserves 5 stars!
A lovely peaceful retreat within walking distance of Swayambhu and Thamel. A truly exceptional stay in a beautiful and comfortable house. Very helpful hosts and staff. And the garden was a lovely place to catch sunset after a day sightseeing.
It was my 3rd stay and every time i really enjoyed the comfortable, big rooms with extra heaters available on request, kitchen where one can cook, location minutes from nice cafe and short walk from Swayambu/Manang Gompa/Tsechu Rinpoche monastery/Marpa House. Taxi can stop by the gate which is comfortable as well. One can have tea at top terrace with a great view at Swayambu hill or in the garden. The staff is more than kind. What to say - I will come again :)
Staff very friendly and helpful. Peaceful place for study. Nearby grocery shop and nice cafe with good food.

Wonderful place! Everything was very comfortable, clean, and convenient. I especially want to highlight the friendly and responsive host — always available and ready to help with any questions. The location is excellent: everything you need is nearby. I would gladly stay here again!
Modest hotel. Great housekeeper. Hot water was intermittent. Location is away from the bustling center but good
Only the WiFi is a little bit to slow or don't function so got all the time.
One the WiFi is not so good.
Most wellcoming and helpfull staff, rooms clean and nice. Great view from the rooftop. Favorite place to stay in the Swayambhu area!
only that in december is getting cold so would be nice to have electric heater, or warmer duvet, otherwise everything was great.
The comfort and cleanliness were excellent. The kindness and attentiveness of Nidup deeply appreciated; and the view of Swyambhunath from my bed sublime
The location is good, it's quiet, and very close to the main road. Rooms are clean and have a common kitchen, which is well managed.
Friendly staff, nice common kitchen, and garden, and roof top. Nice cafe nearby.
No easy check in or check out as there’s no proper reception. The water pressure was bad. The shower head was quite bad and the water went in all directions. Sometimes I couldn’t flush the toilet as the water refilled slowly. So I needed to wait an hour or so. The staff offered to fix it, but I didn’t want to have people in my room. It’s a nice place in theory. But I had much nicer apartments previously in Kathmandu for a smaller nightly rate. With some improvements it could be a 10/10 place.
Very nice and friendly staff, very spacious and comfortable room with a wonderful view of the stupa. Area is very safe and it is easy to get around. The rooftop terrace is a very nice bonus, I did some yoga there and really enjoyed it. Also, the access to the common kitchen is very practical.
Amazing accommodation with a fantastic view. The staff is super helpful, room was clean and cosy. Thanks a million for these memories!
It's in a close proximity to Swambhu temple. Rooms are spacious. Drinkng water is free, Less plastic bottles all over Nepali. It's a quiet location. You can use the kitchen. The price was good.
nice staff

The woman who greeted us was very nice and tried her best to make us feel welcome. no breakfast but you can cook in a kitchen which is helpful if you are staying long enough.
The hotel is hard to find and inconvenient. Cold room and not enough blankets. Impersonal atmosphere. not cosy...
a clean and silent place.
monkeys are everywhere so need to back early.
I spent awesome time at the guesthouse! Clean room, beautiful views, amazing staff—perfect getaway!
Cosy clean room with a nice view, good internet (we work remotely), clean and well equipped shared kitchen. Good coffee shop nearby and excellent pani puri just outside the homestay. The hosts are wonderful:)
Amazing place! Located near the ancient Swayambhu stupa which we really wanted to explore. Unlike many parts of Kathmandu here we enjoyed fresh air, no dust and a perfect view from the roof top! Rooms are clean and cosy and there is a kitchen with all necessary stuff for cooking and good quality filtered water. There is also a nice cafe just a few steps from the guest which is perfect for breakfast if you don't feel like cooking) Personnel is friendly and helpful. We would certainly come here again.
My stay in this beautiful guesthouse was incredible! Lovely spacious room with huge windows overlooking the Kathmandu valley and surrounding hills. There’s also an easy access to the rooftop with the stunning sunrise/sunset views🥰. In good weather you could see the snowy mountains tops from out there! Clean restroom with hot water. Nice well equipped kitchen, fridge. All the dishes, cups, silverware and pots are present. Little well kept garden was full of flowers in spring! Property is generally very well maintained and looked after with the great love and attention to the details. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. A short taxi ride to Thamel and 7 min walk to the main entrance to Swayambhu (monkey temple). The owners of the guesthouse Valeria and Alex are extremely friendly and helpful! I’m very grateful for this fabulous stay!
I will stay here whenever I am back in KTM. The place was very peaceful, quiet and clean - with amazing views of Kathmandu and the Monkey Temple. The rooftop & meditation room were a highlight for me. Location was not too far away so that you felt out of the mix. The hosts (Naidoop and Jonh) were also very accomodating and helpful with local knowledge, and things to look out for for first time travellers.
Staff: friendly, nice and kind View: extraordinary Kitchen: family-atmosmphere Service: super good Support for guest: over expectation (booking for car, advise for local destinations to be visited...)
Nothing
This is "Top 3" in my own hostels rating. We felt like at home of the best friend: cooked and eat in the kitchen, chilled on the roof and in the yard looking at Swayambhu. The housekeeper was perfect, very kind and helpful. The room was also very nice: nothing super-special but "made with love".
The guest house is very clean and the staff is super friendly! The Guesthouse is very close to the Swayambu Stupa and has great opportunities around for food and good coffee!
Fantastic hosts arranged additional services for seeing Nepal and were very informative and warm. Visiting for the first time and for 4 days our stay turned into the most wonderful and meaningful experience of Katmandu and beyond. and The hotel is very neat. The kitchen/cafeteria is very convenient and cozy.
Exceptional host and staff Homely Quite neighbourhood
Very small bathroom
A very nice quiet location, but only a few minutes walk from the Swayambhu Temple. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
