Reviewed Aug 17, 2026Es comodo y bien ubicado. Un sitio muy bonito. La cena de filete de avestruz en dl alojamiento con un buen vino fue estupenda.
Tuvimos mala suerte y hubo un problema que no hubo luz, agua caliente, calefaccion y no iban los enchufes para cargar los moviles pero hubo voluntad para arreglarlo aunque nos fuimos y aun no funcionaba.

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026This place is a little gem. It has been lovingly restored to a high spec and the rooms are very comfortable and spotless. The dinner was a bit pricey but was superb. Best Ostrich fillet I've ever had. The breakfast was also excellent. If you haven't tried it yet then do so. I'll be back.

I personally love animals but don't appreciate other guests animals being forced on me, especially in the dining area. It would be greatly appreciated if more care is taken to keep dogs on a leash and away from dining area. Thank you

Some choices of breads at breakfast would have been really nice.

It was without doubt the highlight accommodation of the 900km trip encompassing both eastern and western provinces. Highly recommended and voted No 1 BnB in Oudtshorn area by their own BnB peers. (Saw the framed certificate 2025). Noleen and the owner were charming and made the stay special.

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay for one night, but this is definitely a place where you could stay longer if you have more time. In the evening, Lollie and Rondell prepared a very delicious dinner for us. We wish Lollies and Rondell a wonderful future and many great guests.

Reviewed Mar 11, 2026Lollie gave us a lovely warm welcome on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was exceptionally comfortable and just what we needed after a long day in the road. We then woke up to a beautiful garden, birds chirping and a dip in the cool swimming pool. This was followed by a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit and yogurt, a full English breakfast and even some homemade banana bread. To top it all off, as we were about to leave, we noticed that our very dirty and muddy car had been washed and was ready for us to head out. Would highly recommend! Thanks Lollie

Frühstück war prima Abendessen wurde auch angeboten , was praktisch ist , wenn man nicht mehr fahren möchte !

Das Gästehaus liegt etwas außerhalb von Oudtshoorn und ist schon was älter.

It will be good to have a drinks or wine list in the room and other options available on request? Evidence of maintenance work in process to be completed. It did not intervere with the quality of overall hospitality though? Quality of the cooked breakfast needs attention. The fresh fruit and yoghurt was a winner

Reviewed Jan 9, 2026Een prachtige locatie met fantastisch eten, een hele mooie tuin met een fijn zwembad en prachtig uitzicht. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk. We kregen voor zowel ontbijt als avondeten en tafel met uitzicht op de tuin en bergen. Heerlijk om zo te tafelen! Ook de complementaire champagne voor nieuwjaar was erg leuk.
Niets in het bijzonder, behalve dat het voortreffelijke avondeten (de lekkerste struisvogelsteak ooit) hoge verwachtingen schepte voor het ontbijt en dat viel daardoor wat tegen. De opties waren beperkt en ietwat karig (zoals blikfruit). Verder geen enkel bezwaar!

Kamer viel wat tegen. Klein en donker. Gevaarlijk is de grote afstap van zeker 10 centimeter als je van de badkamer door een gangetje naar de slaapkamer loopt in het donker omdat je geen verschil in de tegels ziet.

The dinner was awesome, we really enjoyed the Ostrich, with the wine source....... THE BREAKFAST was delicious. The staff was very friendly..... The whole place was super clean, 👌🔥the pool towels👏. We were blown away.

My mattress wasn't the comfiest, but the room itself was very comfortable and clean, and had a lot of attention to detail in it.

Reviewed Dec 29, 2025Wunderschönes Guesthouse mit familiärer Atmosphäre. Die persönliche Betreuung ist erstklassig (danke nochmal für die Hilfe beim Insektenstich!). Kulinarisch war das Abendessen (Straußensteak, Schokomouse) ein Highlight. Der Garten ist eine tolle Oase in der Wüste, inklusive süßer Schildkröte. Absolute Empfehlung, wir kommen wieder! -> wer interessiert ist, von hier aus kann man bequem die Erdmännchen Tour machen 👍

Reviewed Dec 22, 2025Von A bis Z ist alles stimmig, die wunderschönen alten Steinböden, die Holztüren und die stimmige Ausstattung. Die Räume sind sehr sauber, gepflegt und stilvoll eingerichtet. Die Dusche war einfach perfekt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen. Als Abendessen hatten wir Strauß gewählt und es war so lecker, dass wir am zweiten Abend das gleiche noch mal bestellt hatten, was andere Gäste übrigens ebenfalls taten. Wer hier übernachtet, sollte sich diesen Gaumenschmaus nicht entgehen lassen. am Abreisetag wurde noch unser Auto gewaschen. Lollies der Gastgeber war stets bemüht, alles möglich zu machen, um den Gästen den Aufenthalt zum Erlebnis zu machen. So oder so ähnlich muss es im Paradies sein.

Und wurde Dinner angeboten was uns zuvor auch nicht bekannt war. Dinner sehr gut. Dinner und Unterkunft Preislich ok. Freundliche Katze namens Tiger. Auto wurde überraschenderweise gewaschen. Straußenfarm in der Nähe.
Dazu fällt mir gerade nichts ein.

Reviewed Dec 5, 2025Authentisches B&B, 2025 ausgezeichnet als bestes B&B in Oudtshoorn. Preiswert und gut. Inhaber kocht abends für die Gäste auf Wunsch Straußen Filet. Leckeres landestypisches Frühstück. Schöner Garten mit vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten, kleinem Pool und Sonnenliegen. Alles sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, Good old style, waren genau deshalb vor vielen Jahren schon mal hier.

Reviewed Nov 26, 2025Die Lodge liegt fantastisch. Das Personal und der Besitzer sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist lecker und das Abendessen zubereitet vom Besitzer selber war absolute Klasse. Ein Ort zum Entspannen. Das Auto wird unaufgefordert gereinigt, welche Überraschung.

Der Strauss war lecker aber eher wie ein geschmortes Gericht und nicht wie ein Steak. Ich habe leider ein kleines Stück bekommen, das nicht medium sonder durchgebrachten war.

Reviewed Nov 20, 2025Das Guesrhaus liegt ruhig, erwa 12 km außerhalb von Oudtshoorn. Es hat einen großen Garten mit Pool, wo man sich schnell wohlfühlt. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit, er hat uns sofort geholfen, als wir einen Platten am Auto hatten und uns am Sonntag einen von der Werkstatt besorgt Da Essen war super lecker, kann man nur empfehlen, ein Menü für 320 Rand. Ca. 5 Minuten von der Unterkunft entfernt liegt die Highgate Ostrich Farm, eine Führung dort war sehr interessant und informativ. Die Buffelsdriftlodge liegt ca. 20 Minuten entfernt, wo man Safaris buchen kann und die Cango Caves sind in 30 Minuten zu erreichen, ein sehenswertes Höhlensystem. Restaurants gibt es in der Nähe keine.
Das W-lan in Nummer 3 funktionierte leider gar nicht.
