Breakfast had limited selection though large portions. Would have been great if there were basic toiletries provided.

De locatie is geweldig, midden in Galle Fort. Het gebouw is historisch. Op de dag van ons vertrek kregen we na check out nog uitgebreid de mogelijkheid om ons op te frissen voor vertrek naar NL. Zeer attent.

De badkamer functioneert maar is nogal basic.

What I loved most about Arches Fort was the peaceful atmosphere. Even though it’s in the heart of Galle Fort, it feels calm and quiet. The budget double room was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, and I appreciated having tea and coffee facilities in the room. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. A special thanks to Piyumi, who was so kind, supportive, and made our stay even more enjoyable. The location is perfect for exploring the fort on foot, making it a great place to stay.

Gezellig ingericht in een prachtig gebouw op een super locatie. Het personeel was zeer vriendelijk. We wilde wat kleding gewassen hebben en dit konden ze voor ons laten doen, dat was zeer prettig.

The Hospitality was good, very polite staff and location was fantastic it's inside the fort and surrounded by cute streets.

They do not have lift as it's an 300yrs old heritage property, so if you have elderly people with you then ask a ground floor room.

Great location and nice bedroom. I especially liked the quiet aircon and fan which made sleeping easy.

A great location in the fort but still quiet. I stayed in the courtyard part and it looked like the bathroom has been updated, it was clean and modern. The room was clean with great air-con. I was by myself so enough room, space might be right for 2 people. Lovely breakfast.

Staying in the courtyard did mean the WiFi stopped working when the doors to the main hotel got closed at night but this was nearly 11pm. Some kitchen noise the next morning from 6am. Neither of these were a huge issue and I'd certainly stay there again if visiting Galle Fort.

Rummen var trångt och egentligen bara ett enkelt rum som de slängt en dubbel säng i. Det fanns ingen plats till en enda resväska så glöm den andra personens resväska. Strömmen gick ofta och det blev varmt i rummet

Great bathroom and very clean. Had a nice stay, breakfast from 8am so bit later than usual. Kitchen staff so friendly and helpful 🥰

The Arches Fort was in a fab location within the old city. The building itself was delightful. Traditional and a real experience. The staff were lovely and accommodating - we were upgraded for free which we were grateful for as I was unwell for a day. The breakfast was pleasant and we appreciated that they introduced us to local Sri Lanken breakfast options as well as our western go tos! They were delicious.

The bathroom wasn't great - the shower tray was split and leaked water, and it could have been a little cleaner. It was a little noisy as it is an old traditional property and a little pricey compared to other options and locations.

Great place in the middle of Galle Fort for one night stay. The room was clean with a double bed (booked as a single person). Had a kettle with large bottle of water provided as well as tea & coffee. Breakfast included with option of Sri Lankan or western, though it only starts from 8am making it a bit tight for early departures. WiFi provided and worked well. Hot water too.

Location in the middle of the Fort but quiet. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. I had a medical problem with a family member and they were very helpful. I was in 3 different rooms and they were all a different kind of nice and clean. Will return.

Die Lage war sehr gut, alles war zu Fuß zu erreichen.

Das Zimmer war nicht wirklich sauber und laut. Man konnte die Gespräche aus der Lobby hören, weil es mehrere Öffnungen gab. Es gab keinen Kühlschrank, ein Safe wurde auf Anforderung herbei getragen. Alle Türen waren verzogen (ok, alt), die Tür zum Badezimmer ließ sich nur mit roher Gewalt schließen, was besonders klasse ist in der Nacht. In der Dusche lief das Wasser nicht ab. Wir waren 3 Nächte dort und hatten 2 mal großes Ungeziefer im Zimmer. Das so angepriesene Frühstück war allenfalls mittelmäßig und alles wurde nur auf Anforderung gebracht. Verglichen mit den 7 anderen Hotels, ist dieses den Preis auf keinen Fall Wert.

Felt so uncomfortable and unsafe we did not stay. One staff members asked for a selfie and ogled me. The rooms were full of mosquitos. The shower was an old enclosed fibreglass unit sat on top of an old shower base.

The staff at Arches Fort couldn’t have done more to accommodate us and make our stay as good as possible. We brought some leftover food from a cooking class the previous day and they stored it in the fridge for us and re-heated it for us for our dinner. We also had an early train on our day of departure and they woke up early to make a little breakfast pack for us. They were very helpful and friendly.

Great location, right in the heart of the Galle Fort.

We were in Room 03, where the kitchen is beneath us. There is a fair bit of noise during the late evenings and early mornings from the kitchen and the staff. The shower stall has no place for toiletries. The towels provided were great on day one, but threadbare on day two :(. The rooms look spacious in the images, but they are quite small compared to the images on the site. We had informed the hotel in advance that we were vegans. The very limited breakfast options for vegetarians or vegans remain unchanged throughout our stay. Don't believe that for USD $100 a night, this is a good value :(. We have stayed at several other places in the Galle Fort that offered better value for money.

Fantastic location. Lovely old world charm. We enjoyed the balcony over the street, outside our room. The staff were very friendly and keen to please. Good breakfast.

The new shower cubicles are no match for a proper shower. And the door came off its runners, but that was fixable.

Great location within the walls, a very colonial feel about the property. A choice of either Sri Lankan or western breakfasts, both of which were excellent, the staff and management were very good. We would return.

We had a lovely stay at Arches Fort. The location couldn't have been more perfect- right in the heart of Galle Fort, mere minutes away from the best restaurants, cafes and viewpoints in town. You can tell that the property has a history and a personality, and it really added to the old- world allure and charm of our stay. The property managers and staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. The room itself was charming and comfortable. A special mention of the breakfast- we indulged in the Sri Lankan breakfast option during our stay, and loved the egg hoppers, rotis and dhal served up every morning. A great stay overall!

The shower was a tad complicated to use, and the bathroom would emit a strange smell at times. But really minor inconveniences in an otherwise terrific stay.

Centrally located with restaurant on the patio and inside. There are several,seating areas. Generous Western and Sri Lankan breakfast included. The rooms are all a little different and in different locations and are all very clean. We had a medical emergency and they were very helpful and caring during the hospital stay. The staff and manager are stellar. I will return. .
