Reviewed Jul 25, 2026Wer Sao Jorge besucht, muss eigentlich fast hier einen Zwischenhalt machen - mindestens eine Übernachtung.😉 Wunderbare Unterkunft, welche von David und seinem Team mit viel Liebe und Engagement gepflegt werden. Das Abendessen und Frühstück waren hervorragend! Die Natur und die Ruhe hier sind wirklich atemberaubend!

La literie est confortable, la chambre avec une petite terrasse en hauteur sublime, la salle de bains récente et propre. Tout est parfait. Le petit déjeuner est copieux, tout comme les dîners préparés avec des produits locaux et à partir de recettes typiques. L accueil est chaleureux et disponible. Le wifi est parfait. La vue sur l océan est incroyable.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026I loved my stay at the Caldeira Guesthouse. The place is fantastic, as well as the staff and the meals. I recommend having dinner and breakfast there! The hike from Faja dos Cubres was smooth and not particularly demanding; walking to reach the guesthouse made the arrival and the place overall even more magic. I could hear the ocean waves from my shared bedroom. I strongly recommend to stay at least one night!

Reviewed Jun 29, 2026Colazione e cena davvero ottimi, tutto cucinato con tanta cura e passione da Lourdes. Molto bello anche mangiare tutti gli ospiti insieme ad un grande tavolo con splendida vista sull'oceano e condividere le proprie esperienze. È situato in una fajã non raggiungibile in auto. A piedi i percorsi raggiungibili sono pochi, ma si può sempre prendere un taxi. Noi abbiamo decisi di goderci la location immersa nella natura e trascorrere un po' di giorni rilassandoci e apprezzando la tranquillità del luogo.

A Fajã de Santo Cristo parece um pequeno paraíso na Terra, e é difícil imaginar um cenário mais perfeito para viver esta experiência. O quarto era confortável e impecavelmente limpo, e a cozinha partilhada, bem equipada, revelou-se extremamente útil. O ambiente da guesthouse é fantástico e descontraído – conhecemos pessoas simpáticas e interessantes de várias nacionalidades, tornando a estadia ainda mais especial. Um destaque muito especial para a chef, que proporcionou jantares deliciosos e verdadeiros momentos de partilha entre hóspedes. O David é um anfitrião sempre disponível, muito simpático, polivalente e cheio de boas recomendações, incluindo dicas valiosas sobre surf spots. A vista é lindíssima e permite até acompanhar as condições do surf. A possibilidade de utilizar pranchas para explorar o que a fajã tem para oferecer foi também uma enorme mais-valia. Entre ondas e cruzeiros de SUP na lagoa, com as lindíssimas escarpas da Fajã de Santo Cristo como pano de fundo, foi impossível não nos rendermos ao ritmo simples e à beleza deste lugar extraordinário. Os acessos pedestres são exigentes e acabam por desmotivar algumas saídas… mas, honestamente, porque haveríamos de querer sair dali? E, quando é preciso, o transporte de buggy torna tudo rápido e simples. Só saímos um dia para visitar a ilha, que é linda, mas partimos com a sensação de que devíamos ter reservado mais dias na fajã. Um lugar mágico, onde o tempo abranda e de onde levámos memórias que dificilmente esqueceremos. Um daqueles lugares aos quais sabemos que iremos regressar.

Reviewed May 23, 2026Bellissima esperienza diversa dal solito! Abbiamo raggiunto caldeira guesthouse da Faja dos Cubres, una passeggiata lungo la costa molto romantica. In circa un ora di camminata per lo più pianeggiate di arriva alla guesthouse. Siamo stati accolti da uno staff giovane e disponibile! Abbiamo deciso di cenare con tutti gli ospiti della guesthouse e questo è stato assolutamente un valore aggiunto alla nostra splendida esperienza! Oceano aperto davanti, natura intorno, zero fretta e relax garantito, un vero angolo di paradiso. La struttura offre la possibilità appunto di cenare e fare colazione con prodotti tipici cucinati da loro, davvero tutto ottimo! Torneremo!

So simple, warm, clean, and comfortable, where tasty food is served and the smiles of the staff make you feel incredibly welcome. Definitely recommended!

Reviewed May 4, 2026Wij kunnen geen goede beoordeling geven omdat we onze boeking moesten annuleren.
Pas op als je deze accommodatie boekt. Je kunt hier alleen te voet komen dmv een uur durende intensieve wandeling vanuit Faja dos Cubres (waar je je auto moet achterlaten). Er is een mogelijkheid om je bagage per quad te vervoeren maar daarvoor betaal je €30 per enkele reis. Dit maakt het een ongeschikte locatie om het eiland te verkennen. Deze info is bij het boeken alleen in de kleine lettertjes te lezen en was ons niet opgevallen. NA het boeken is deze info wel gedeeld maar dit was ons door de vele boekingen op de Azoren ontgaan. Wij hebben andere accommodatie moeten boeken en dus extra onkosten gemaakt. Caldeira Guesthouse was weinig flexibel en erg onwelwillend om ons tegemoet te komen.

Reviewed Apr 23, 2026Emplacement magique, superbe equipe et acceuil, lits et espace commun plein de charme. Une destination où je retournerai sans hésitation si je repasse par les Açores. La chef à l'air de faire de très bon repas, si vous êtes en low budget comme je l'était il y a une cuisine commune équipée avec tout ce qu'il faut à disposition. Prévoyez d'emmener en venant, pas d'épicerie ici mais c'est ça le charme, vous êtes sur un bout du monde.

Reviewed Apr 7, 2026La situation de la Guesthouse est incroyable, il y a plein de petites terrasse et jardin pour profiter de la nature, voir la mer, les vagues et les surfeurs. Le personnel est toujours souriant et très gentil. J'ai adoré la grande pièce commune où chacun peut faire un feu, cuisiner, partager un bon repas.
C'était le début de saison, tout n'était pas encore prêt mais pour nous c'était parfait. Il y a une piscine peut être qu'elle pourrait être chauffée ? pour les hors saisons comme nous ça serait trop chouette !

Le personnel est super, le repas et déjeuner en supplément, étaient délicieux. Ils ont improvisés un repas vegan pour mon amie. Merci à eux pour tout ce qu'ils proposent !

Alle sind sehr herzlich und überaus hilfsbereit und wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Wir durften an 2 Tagen auch das Abendessen genießen, dass wirklich ausgezeichnet war und auch das Frühstück war toll (die selbst gemachten Süßspeisen sind herrlich)

Reviewed Oct 3, 2025Caldeira Guesthouse is a paradise at the end of the trail to Santo Cristo. Everything is relaxed and comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful and works together as a family to make every guest comfortable from meals to cleaning to transfers and other helpful favors. Everything is clean, breakfasts and dinners are not to be missed, surfboards and wetsuits are available to the guests. Good kitchen facilities and organization to cook lunch, snacks, or other meals outside breakfast and dinner. Staff was easy to communicate with including to arrange quad transfers which are strongly recommended for anyone with more luggage than a small backpack. Incidental expenses including meals and transfers can be paid by cash or Paypal (also bank transfer but this option might only apply for European bank accounts). Great and restorative stay for anyone, thanks Caldeira Guesthouse!

Reviewed Sep 19, 2025Die Lage ist absolut magisch. Wir waren noch nie in einem Surfcamp welches so sauber war. Es ist alles mit viel Liebe zum Detail hergerichtet. Egal was man brauchte, die Mitarbeiter sind super freundlich und hilfsbereit! Als ich krank war habe ich extra einen besonderen selbst gemachten Tee bekommen. Das Essen ist regional und fantastisch. Alles war traumhaft.
