Reviewed Sep 8, 2026Hotel Miranda is a beautiful family-run hotel, and Miranda and her daughters made us feel very welcome. The location was perfect for exploring Hydra, with easy access to the waterfront and the town’s sights. We stayed in rooms 4–5, a connected two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite. We had our own private terrace, which was especially delightful in the evening, and the hallway windows gave us a wonderful view over the town. We truly had a room with a view. Each room is unique, filled with antique furniture, artwork, and interesting curiosities that give the hotel a lot of character. Breakfast was very good and served in a beautiful courtyard. There is also a small art gallery on the lower level, and by wonderful coincidence we were there during a celebration of the gallery’s 50th anniversary, which made the stay even more memorable.
The bathroom was a little tight, and the handheld shower setup was awkward and tended to get water on the floor. In rooms 4–5, you also need to walk through one bedroom to enter or leave the suite, which is worth knowing in advance.

Dieses Hotel hat seine 4 Sterne nicht verdient. Wer einen ruhigen Ort sucht und denkt man könnte im Garten relaxen.. Fehlanzeige. Die Eigentümer Familie ist extrem unhöflich, nutzt den Garten als Büro, so dass sämtliche auf laut geführte Telefonate verfolgt werden können/müssen. Kein guten Morgen, kein „tut uns leid“ als wir kein Wasser hatten und später unser Bad „flutete“ Wir kamen uns vor wie in einer Pension. Auch einen Wein oder Kaffee im Garten genießen, ebenfalls Fehlanzeige. Es konnte nichts außerhalb der Frühstückszeit bestellt werden. Über 850 EUR für 4 Nächte, da erwarten wir mehr. Unsere Empfehlung, investiert Euer Geld woanders.

The price was outrageous for what was offered. The room was so small that we could barely stand in it at the same time, one of us had to sit down. The bed was also smaller than a standard double bed, making it impossible for two people to sleep comfortably. The bathroom was tiny as well, with a huge window in the shower overlooking the street. Completely useless. The breakfast, despite being advertised as something special, was extremely basic. Even the orange juice was not fresh but some concentrated, artificial-tasting liquid you would expect to find in a hospital cafeteria. Most importantly, the photos on Booking.com are not representative of the actual property and create a very misleading impression. Overall, the experience was nowhere near what you would expect for the price.

Reviewed Jul 18, 2026Cet hôtel est plein de charme. Les chambres sont confortables. Le jardin est très arboré et magnifique. C’est un bonheur d’y prendre son petit déjeuner. Le personnel est efficace, prévenant et très accueillant et le petit déjeuner est délicieux.
La salle d’eau est très fonctionnelle et moderne mais l’espace est étroit. Les toilettes sont dans la salle d’eau. L’hôtel est à environ 300 M du port mais la rue faite de pavés glissants monte jusqu’à l’hôtel et, une fois arrivé, il vous faudra encore monter jusqu’à la réception. Peu praticable pour des personnes qui marchent difficilement

Reviewed Jun 4, 2026The views from the Ist floor balcony ( extra charge 30e per day) are fabulous. The coffered antique ceiling , v large bedroom, great bathroom and shower, lux Guy Laroche towels changed daily (even tho we asked not to )
There were almost zero evidence of personnel at reception , one could make ph contact if necessary . One had to summon somebody by ringing a little bell in order to check in/ out . Unfriendly for quite dear hotel. The breakfast choices were limited and ungenerous, tiny amounts of fruit although very cheap in the market 100 m away .

The people who stay here are also friendly and interesting. We had a lovely time. The character of Hydra is even better in the evening, after the tours have left. There seems to be a mismatch of styles and the place, while a beautiful property, is not particularly well done up. All the little decor touches are missing. There’s really great potential which is unexploited.

Breakfast was good, it did take us a few days to work out that "Toast" on the breakfast menu was a cheese and ham toastie. I was expecting some plain toast that I could spread with the butter and and home made marmalade that was on the table. Polite staff, we enjoyed our stay.
A better shower would have been nice.

Reviewed Oct 31, 2025Magnifique hôtel. Emplacement parfait, vue magnifique depuis la terrasse. Très belle bâtisse ancienne, décorée avec goût et en respectant le style et l’époque d’origine. Personnel super gentil et disponible, aux petits soins. Petit déjeuner très bon.
La salle de bain privative mériterait une petite mise au goût du jour, voir un petit effort niveau déco. Vu le charme de la chambre et de l’hôtel, c’était un peu décevant mais rien de grave.

Reviewed Oct 14, 2025Nice characterful hotel in an old building in centre of town, small garden where you get a quality breakfast.
Reception often not staffed so hard to get support, on 2nd morning i had to leave without a breakfast.

Reviewed Oct 9, 2025Old, rustic, and charming. Close to the port and many shops. Pretty quiet and had good sleep in comfy bed. Welcome drinks and snacks were nice touch. Breakfast was excellent and highly recommend.
Thin walks and shower was not enclosed well and the floor got wet outside the shower area.
