Reviewed Sep 12, 2026It was lovely - perfect location and the owners were great. The room was comfortable and quiet with a nice terrace - just what I needed for one night and I slept really well, which matters more than anything else when I book a hotel. The bathroom was also better than many Greek island bathrooms.
Nothing - if I were staying longer maybe I would want a bit more variety at breakfast but they did have delicious tahini - I wonder if they make it in house as it was really good!

Reviewed Aug 24, 2026Really lovely, charming family-run hotel that feels authentically Greek. The owners were so kind and accommodating, and everything was very clean. Our room was spotless and the renovated bathroom was a nice touch. Breakfast in the courtyard was a great way to start the day. I also really appreciated that they use Korres products - it’s rare to find hotel toiletries that are actually nice for your skin and hair! My hair and skin felt so soft after the showers. My mom and I had a great stay and would definitely recommend it!

Notre chambre était un peu sombre, mais elle était au rez de chaussée sur rue et sans balcon. Petit déjeuner complet mais sans intérêt particulier et sans jus d’orange frais.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026The hotel is conveniently located, quiet, and the room was a good size with a lovely terrace.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness was far below expectations. From the moment I arrived, I had the feeling that the room had not been properly cleaned. I found a used earplug under the bedside table and ants throughout the room. The following day, I found two large cockroaches in the bathroom. I informed reception and asked for a thorough cleaning. They did clean the room, more or less — but incredibly, the used earplug I had found on the floor was simply placed on top of the bedside table, still with earwax on it 😂. The following days I found cockroaches again in the bathroom and in the room (fortunately half-dead this time) I understand that cockroaches can be an issue on a hot island, especially through the plumbing, but in that case hygiene and cleaning should be given the highest level of attention. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. To make matters worse, the air conditioner was leaking water directly into the tray containing the cups and kettle, which was plugged into the electricity. What a shame. I remembered this as a very charming place, but unfortunately the level of cleanliness and attention to detail has really gone downhill.

the standard double rooms are quite small and very vintage, not to say outdated, there was an unpleasant, moisty smell (supposedly coming from the wooden drawers of old furniture) and overall a very high moisture level in the room, we already noticed this during our stay, but especially when unpacking our stuff at our next destination - all of our clothes were slightly moist

Reviewed Jun 21, 2026We loved staying here. It's a short walk from the harbour (about 8 mins), and is nice and quiet. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Hotel is immaculately clean. Breakfast lovely, served in a leafy courtyard. Room was comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. Towels were provided for the beach.
We didn't have a full length mirror, just the bathroom mirror. Our balcony had a very low wall between next door, which don''t give us a great deal of privacy, but it may suit some people, particularly if travelling in a group. We didn't like having to leave.

Reviewed Jun 16, 2026A beautiful hotel with a great location. The jacuzzi was wonderful and provided a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The staff were exceptionally attentive, professional, and always willing to help, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay.
If I had to look for something to improve, the espresso machine could have been great.

The breakfast could have offered a little bit more, including the service in that area. Our room was across the street from the main building and there was a school behind us, the school bell rang several times a day. 🤣

Reviewed May 22, 2026The location was perfect, glad it wasn’t any higher up the hill. Breakfast was great, everything to suit our different appetites. The staff were always friendly and courteous. The buildings are very well maintained and clean. We were allocated a room which was superior to the one we booked so this was a lovely surprise a d much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Hydra.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like but a couple of surprises we weren’t expecting. First, our room was in the annex which meant we felt slightly apart from the main hotel. Secondly our terrace was shared. Once we got used to the idea, it was fine. Over 8 days we had periods of no neighbours (ideal) unfriendly neighbours and finally very friendly neighbours. All in all it worked out fine and we had a lovely stay.

Reviewed May 21, 2026Hydra is a beautiful island and Hotel Angelica is great too. The location is ok, only 5-7 min away from the harbour, main attractions and restaurants. The rooms are very spacious, clean and renovated. Andreas who took care of us is an amazing person, very helpful and always smiling. We were two women and it’s super safe and convenient. I’d definitely stay there again when visiting Hydra
Everything was great. In case you have accessibility issues there are few stairs but you can stay at the first floor.

Reviewed May 15, 2026A beautiful room on a quiet street just up from the port. The father/son owners were very friendly and helpful. They shared interesting information about the island. Great walking, shopping and restaurants.
