The room was lovely and it was a good location. The best part was the warm hospitality of the staff and owners. Judith was especially accommodating when it came to dietary preferences. I highly recommend La Pension and would return in a heartbeat!

We loved this place. Judith was so welcoming. Complimentary drinks on arrival which we enjoyed in the beautiful garden. Judith recommended local restaurants to us and booked the one that we chose, which was excellent. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful hidden gem within Oudtshoorn, Mrs Venita and Mr Errol are amazing host's , beautiful place with so much history. Will definitely come back and visit. Breakfast was amazing.Their warmth and attention to detail make every stay effortless, and being welcomed by their lovely dog, Ruby such a beautiful god always with some love to give.

Das Frühstück war einfach eine Wucht. Wir fragten Errol einen Tag davor ob es möglich sei ein Straußen Ei Rührei zu bekommen. Errol kein Problem und am nächsten Morgen durften wir bei der Zubereitung unseres Straußen Rührei dabei sein. Ein besonderes dickes Lob an die zwei Errol und Venita wir haben euch in unser Herz geschlossen.

Wir waren zu 100% herzlich aufgenommen und freuen uns auf ein Wiedersehen mit euch zwei es hat uns alles gefallen. Da gibt es nichts was einem nicht gefallen könnte.

ALL!!! THE BEST STAY WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! Errol and Venita were the kindest owners we have ever met. So kind and helpfull. The barn cottage was more then perfect, every detail was right. The breakfast was amazing and the bed and sheets slept the best in the world. The sheets were so soft!! This is a 100/10 stay. Hope to see you guys and Ruby again!!

In unserem schönen Zimmer gab es keine blickdichten Vorhänge, so dass Abends bei Licht immer jeder ins Zimmer schauen konnte.

Het gezellige warme ontvangst. De hulp bij het reserveren van de Stokstaartjes excursie. Het fijne restaurant waar we naar toe konden lopen maar die ons met een taxibusje weer thuis brachten. Het fijne gesprek met de eigenaar.

I cannot recommend this cozy guest house enough—Venita and Errol are absolutely wonderful hosts who have thought of everything! The space itself is incredibly charming, clean, and comfortable, making it the perfect peaceful getaway. The location is also fantastic—it's well-situated and close to the mall and great restaurants. The bush safari, meerkat Exprrience and Ostrich farms are also very close. To top it off, the breakfast was delicious, and they have an amazing bar setup. From the seamless check-in to the thoughtful extra touches, it was a flawless stay. 5 stars all around!

La Pension war ein absoluter Traum. Normalerweise sind Bilder besser als die Realität, aber bei Erol & Venita war die Realität besser. Die Liebe zum Detail und die Liebe zu den Gästem war hervorragend. Wir waren sehr traurig, dass wir nur eine Nacht bleiben konnten und wir werden sicher wieder kommen! Von der Bar, über die Zimmer, die Anlage bis zum Frühstück, war alles perfekt!

Mehr zum gucken und staunen als zum benutzen: zum Beispiel Fernseher schwer zu bedienen, Badezimmer teilweise unpraktisch, laute Klimaanlage.

Errol and Venita are THE BEST hosts. Reaching there after a day-long drive, they offered us a glass of wine and we had the best conversations with them. It was really nice to learn how they built the property and how much they care for their guests. Their dog and cats also hung out with us. Their restaurant recommendation for dinner was spot on. The room was really cozy and relaxing. We had a really nice breakfast the next morning before we headed out. It is one of our best experiences in our entire SA tour.

11 out of 10! Little paradise in the middle of Oudtshoorn. Rooms were decorated with very much eye for detail and were very clean. Next to that, there is an amazing breakfast/coffee/poolbar, as well as a beautiful pool. Breakfast was wonderful as well. However, what stood out most was the hospitality and interesting conversations with Errol and Vanity!

Es waren überall kleine Ameisen....selbst im Bett waren welche.....

Errol und Judith sind sehr herzliche Gastgeber, die sehr um uns und unser Befinden bemüht waren. Das Frühstück war jeden Tag etwas anders, hier lässt sich die Küche gern etwas einfallen. Wir waren überrascht von den vielfältigen Möglichkeiten die dieser Ort und seine Umgebung bieten. Sehr empfehlenswert sind die Five shy Meerkats und die Buffelsdrift Game Lodge mit tollem Ambiente zum Mittagessen. Gute Restaurants in fußläufiger Entfernung für das Abendessen.

Unser Zimmer hatte leider den Nachteil, dass die Abwasserleitungen der Nachbarzimmer durch unsere Wände liefen. Dadurch bekommt man jeden Toilettengang der Nachbarn mit.

Die Sitzgelegenheit im Zimmer war absolut unbequem. Wir würden das Hotel wieder buchen , allerdings nicht dieses Zimmer..

Una bellissima proprietà con un meraviglioso giardino. Errol e Venita, gli host, disponibili ed accoglienti, ci hanno fatto sentire come a casa. Straordinaria la colazione e la stanza è enorme e confortevole. Ci piacerebbe tornare per visitare meglio la zona.

The hosts are super friendly and entertaining. The rooms have a lot of character. The bathroom is spacious. The pool and garden are very nice, as is the bar. At walking distance from restaurants (also at night).

Hele vriendelijke ontvangst met een wijntje van het huis. De gastvrijheid van deze mensen is heel bijzonder. We hebben ons 2 dagen top vermaakt bij het zwembad, en ‘s avonds in de bar! De bedden zijn top, weinig geluid! Vanaf hier ben je heel snel bij alle activiteiten in de buurt.

Wij zaten in kamer 4 en daar deed de wifi het niet zo goed.

Very friendly guest house, beautiful gardens around the swimming pool, very relaxed atmosphere throughout. Good sized bedroom and bathroom, also had a lounge area, a real bonus. The breakfast was very good, beautifully served fresh fruit with yoghurt, followed by a hot choice cooked to order. The hosts are very involved in the running of their guest house, very friendly and nothing too much trouble, we left with very fond memories, thank you.

Op elk vlak een topadres als je op zoek bent naar een guesthouse.. Hartelijke ontvangst, zalige tuin, een balzaal van een kamer, comfort en netheid, heel verzorgd ontbijt, de rust, de kleine details zoals een bloemetje lavendel op hoofdkussen en in de badkamer...en dit alles in een bijzonder mooie streek. Prijs/kwaliteit zonder meer een absolute voltreffer. Wat hebben we genoten van dit verblijf !!

The most beautiful guest house with very welcoming hosts and friendly staff. It felt like an oasis of calm but was well located for tours and restaurants. Went to dinner at Nostalgie restaurant which we’d highly recommend. Breakfast at the guest house was delicious. We loved the beautiful garden and the decor too.

Errol and Venita are born hosts. Their authenticity, warmth and generosity of care are infused in every tiny detail, and is alive in the entire team. The room is enormous and gorgeously appointed. The property is spacious, with a stillness that belies its centrality.

La Pension really is a home away from home! The service was excellent, and we loved the hands-on approach from the owners. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the beautiful gardens offer a perfect sense of peace and quiet despite the central location. The pets were such a highlight and kept us well entertained! To top it all off, the breakfast was delicious. We can’t recommend it enough

This was one of our top fav's as far as accommodations on our last trip through the Karoo. The owner went way beyond what most owners do as far as welcome drinks, time spent with us as we enjoyed her wonderful pool patio, showing us how to open and then eat an Ostrich egg, etc. It was incredible. We would never stay anywhere else when stopping in Oudtshoorn. And the value, for this experience, the owners welcoming sociability, on top of a fantastic breakfast, was unsurpassed. This was the best value for the money that we have found in a very very long time.

Das Paradies mitten in Oudtshoorn! Ein wunderschönes Guesthouse mit viel Charakter und tollem Garten mit Pool. Die Gastegeber sind super nett! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden immer wieder kommen. Schade, dass wir nur eine Nacht dort waren.

Unglaublich freundliche Gastgeber. Das Zimmer war wundervoll. Es ist alles liebevoll und authentisch eingerichtet. Die Bar und das reichhaltige Frühstück am Pool sind ein Traum. Man merkt richtig wie die Gastgeber lieben was sie sie hier geschaffen haben und dieses Gefühl überzeugt sich direkt sobald man das Guest House betritt. Einfach außergewöhnlich.

It's a beautiful property. The building, the garden, the bar/breakfast area - everything is gorgeous and very well-maintained. Breakfast was delicious and very well-presented. The staff are amazing - very friendly and great to have a laugh with. Very highly recommended.

The bathroom is interesting as it is not a separate room but a part of the bedroom separated by some screens that does not allow for total privacy. Did not bother me too much but could be awkward if staying with friends.

We have done a lot of travel and this was the best place we have ever stay and the hosts were exceptional! The site has the most amazing gardens/sections with pool, as were the rooms! The attention to detail was fabulous…..nothing was too much trouble and the host shared their expert knowledge and stories! This definitely enhanced our stay and experience of the area. Breakfast was delicious, they booked restaurants for us and even fetch us a pizza! We can highly recommend and encourage you to book now! We will definitely be back 😜 sorry for the lateness of posting.

Everything was even beautifuler than shown on the pictures. Errol and Venita are very fine hosts with attention to the guests. Beautiful conversations. Our room was even beyond. Nice pool, beautiful garden, private parking, good and compleet breakfast. If we vist oudtshoorn some time again without no doubt we will stay with Errol and Venita. We forgot one of our bags. Errol brought it up to us on our route through the Swartberg pas. That was more than we could wish from them.

Die Unterkunft war hervorragend – wir hatten ein wahnsinnig großes Zimmer und konnten richtig entspannen. Das Frühstück war super lecker und es gab mehr als genug, sodass wir bestens in den Tag starten konnten. Besonders angenehm fanden wir die ruhige Lage: trotzdem waren wir abends noch beim Italiener und in nur ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß in der Stadt. Das Grundstück ist sehr gepflegt, alles wirkt liebevoll in Schuss gehalten – wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

No comment here, that place is really top notch…

Ich kann nicht sagen was uns hier am besten gefallen hat - es war schlichtweg alles super. Vielleicht hervorzuheben die freundlichen Gastgeber und des Personal im allgemeinen. Die Zimmer, die Anlage als solches, das Frühstück, der Service - alles super. Was vielleicht am meisten heraus sticht ist die familiäre Atmosphäre die hier herrscht. Wir sind sofort mit den Eigentümern (Venita und Errol) ins Gespräch gekommen und hatten auch einige gehaltvollere Gespräche mit ihnen geführt. Wir sind schon viel gereist aber nicht oft fiel es uns so schwer (nach 3 Nächten hier) abreisen zu müssen. Wir können die Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen, sollten wir wieder nach Südafrika kommen wird das hier mit Sicherheit eine Station sein.

Troisième séjours à la Pension, que dire?…que tout est toujours aussi formidable, accueil chaleureux et sincère, confort des chambres et des espaces communs, le bonheur quoi…

De ne pas y être resté plus longtemps 😉

Die Eigentümer sind sehr freundlich, professionell und immer bemüht, den Gästen eine schöne Zeit und den bestmöglichen Service zu geben. Die Zimmer, der Garten und der Poolbereich sind mit viel Geschmack gestaltet, alles ist sauber und gemütlich. Alles hat Charme und Persönlichkeit und vieles ist einzigartig, antik oder mit einer Geschichte dahinter. Das Frühstück ist wunderbar zubereitet und wird im wunderschönen ‚Poolhaus‘ serviert. Wir haben hier 4 Tage verbracht und hätten noch länger bleiben wollen. Könnte man mehr als 10 Punkte vergeben, würden wir dies hier ausnahmsweise auch machen. Auch die Gartenliegen sind komfortabel und gegen ein nicht sehr hohes Entgelt kann man jederzeit Getränke erwerben. Abends ist der Garten durchdacht beleuchtet und man kann sehr schön sitzen und einen Sundowner trinken. Das Personal ist sehr zugewandt und professionell. Gute Restaurants sind nicht weit, man fühlt sich sehr sicher.

Alles war perfekt!

Nach drei Wochen Rundreise mit 10 verschiedenen Hotels war das unser Favorite. Benita und Errol sing Mega sympathisch. Sehr Herzlich und haben ihr Paradies mit uns geteilt. Gastfreundlich wie in Griechenland. Wir sind beide begeistert. Vielen Dank für Alles

Der Stil. Die Liebe zum Detail. Der Standort. Dort war das Wetter auch sehr gut.

Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt! Die Ausstattung war sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und es wird alles erstklassig gepflegt. Wir haben die Erdmännchen Tour am frühen Morgen (6:15 Uhr) gemacht und konnten danach noch frühstücken. Das Frühstück war liebevoll angerichtet! Danach konnten wir entspannt auschecken.

Einziger Mini Kritikpunkt war, dass die Zimmer im Gästehaus hellhörig sind.

Wir waren beeindruckt von diesem wunderschönen Haus. Es ist bis ins kleinste Detail geschmackvoll und sehr hochwertig eingerichtet. Ich habe die Bettwäsche sehr geliebt. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und wurde außergewöhnlich liebevoll angerichtet. Der Restauranttip Ebony & Ivory war sehr gut. Das Restaurant war zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Gegend ist sicher. Vielen Dank Judith, Venita und Errol.
