L'accueil de l'hote Cornelius, c'est propre, authentique, le lit est confortable. Espaces communs agréables à utiliser. Une ancienne ferme convertie en auberge de jeunesse puis en hôtel mais en gardant l'esprit auberge de jeunesse. Superbe

Margo and Cornelius are very inviting hosts, making me feel welcome right away. The property is also quite impressive, with beautifully maintained gardens surrounding the cottage

Being a homestead, you are somewhat at the mercy of the other guests. If people are moving around early in the morning/late at night, then you are bound to hear them from your room

The facilities were excellent and the place was spotless! The hosts went above and beyond to accommodate for everyone. A great nights sleep with a peaceful breakfast sat out on the patio with views of the private gardens and sea!! The shared facilities worked very well, no waiting around to use the wash facilities and around the cottage it felt very private. All of which were immaculate. Small evening walks right from the doorstep it was a great location, with only a short drive to main town Akaroa.

Half Moon Cottage is a little piece of heaven on earth, tranquil and beautiful. The owner is very welcoming and informative. Cereal, tea and coffee was left out for breakfast and fresh milk is constantly topped up. Beds are super comfy with beautiful views into their amazing cottage garden. I awoke to birdsong.

Amazing place to spend some time and close to Akaroa. Hosts are really friendly and happy to share some information about hiking spots around the area. One of the best places I staid in during my visit in New Zealand. Hopefully I will be able to visit again some day

Les hôtes étaient super gentils et disponibles. Leur maison a été décorée avec du coût. Tous les détails ont été pris au petit soin. Le jardin est magnifique avec plein de fleurs et des fruitiers ! Le logement est situé en face de la baie, nous avons une vue depuis le jardin. La presqu'île en face vaut le détour également, superbe vu sur la baie.le hôte nous a donné les conseils utiles pour se restaurer et visiter l'île

The location was stunning, and gardens impeccably kept. Cor and Margo very welcoming and friendly but also chilled, which made it feel like a home from home.

We loved halfmoon cottage, the setting and its beautiful garden .....wished we were staying for more than one night. It's the perfect place for a lovely long relaxing weekend. The owners were just lovely and so super helpful. We would love to come back and stay longer : )

We had a wonderful stay at the Halfmoon Cottage. The hosts are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The kitchen is fully equipped and the facilities clean. Nearby are beautiful spots for tourists to visit.

We really enjoyed hiking the roads on the hills behind the cottage. We had amazing views from them. Also, the road that leads to the bay's peninsula - beautiful walk up the peninsula. A little cheese factory where they sell some meats, cheeses, honey, spreads, crackers etc is only a couple hundred feet down the road. The flower gardens right there by and around the cottage are terrific!

It would be nice if it was located a little closer to Akaroa, if traveling by taxi.

Gorgeous Place to stay, really cute indoors and a beautiful garden, nice kitchen with everything we needed, they offered a little extra for the breakfast like cereals and tea, awesome owners who are always open for a chat if you like it as well and if you want they offer you tipps for your surroundings

Vier Tage voller Entspannung, sehr sehr schön, gemütlich, wie zuhause. Wir haben uns sooooooo wohlgefühlt und Margo und Rob waren total bemüht es uns perfekt zu machen und das haben sie auch in jeder Beziehung. Die Unterkunft hat die perfekte Lage für einen Aufenthalt in Akaroa (oder in der Nähe). Es ist sehr sauber, die Inhaber sind sehr liebevoll und freundlich. Es gibt eine super Ausstattung und die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich.

Gorgeous small cottage which was easy to get to and was close enough to Akaroa and other attractions, whilst still having that secluded feeling. Cornelius and Margot who own and operate the cottage were very friendly.

Margo and Cornelius are fabulous hosts, they made me feel very welcome. It was like home away from home, relaxed, comfortable, clean and well maintained. It's a beautiful house and the gardens are superb. Margo gave me a capsicum from the garden to have in my stir fry, yum! Thanks for everything... and charging my PHEV :-)

I really can't fault Halfmoon Cottage. From arrival to departure, everything was just brilliant! The cottage and the garden are beautiful and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped with all the utensils you needed, as well as plenty of space in the cupboard/fridge for you to store things. It was spotlessly clean too, which is the same for the shared bathroom facilities. We had a twin room which was cosy and comfortable, with some space for the two of you to spread out your luggage. The location was great, just about a 10 minute drove out of Akaroa itself and just on the main road so it's pretty easy to find. The owners were very attentive and helpful with any information we needed about the area/things to do. You could tell that they really have an interest in their guests staying there and want them to have a good time. If/when I come back to Akaroa, I will definitely be staying here again!

An amazing cottage located right in front of the water. The cottage itself is super beautiful, surrounded by green trees, colorful flowers and everything is so clean and inviting. Beds are comfy and the shared kitchen has everything you need. The cherry on top of it were definitely the hosts, Cor and Margo, who welcomed us so warmly and were so fun to talk with. This is your place to stay when visiting Banks Peninsula!!!

We loved the homely feel of Halfmoon Cottage. Such a beautiful garden, spacious rooms, clean kitchen and shared bathrooms. Loved having a comfortable loungeroom as well as lots of tables and chairs on the verandahs. We felt very relaxed and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a peaceful place to stay.

This is a delightful place. The owners are friendly & helpful. They work hard to keep up a beautiful old house along with gorgeous flower gardens. Everything was neat, clean and tidy. They had lots of suggestions of places to visit. The location is convenient to Akaroa, about 12 km away,’and very close to the water.

Almost everything! From the wonderful hosts to the cottage it self, every aspect made me feel not only that I’m in holiday, but a feeling at home! Would love to come back not only for the city, but also to come back to this place.

To enjoy this place you need to have a car to even arrive here but also to drive to the town (a short 15 minute drive).

This is one of my favourite places to stay! It feels like coming home to a place I’d love to live! Beautiful, well maintained house and gardens. Exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts, Cor and Margot make you feel welcome and appreciated. Sparkling clean shared kitchen and bathroom, never crowded. Lovely, bright dining room with fresh flowers from their garden. Charmingly decorated bedrooms. Lots of places to sit on the veranda or hang out in the two hammocks to read, all surrounded by fruit trees and flowers. Free parking and wi-fi. I always meet interesting people here. Great, quiet location about 15 minute drive to Akaroa and lots of other scenic, local destinations. It’s paradise!

The Cottage is located right at the Bay and provides a very nice views. The residence and the gardens are very well maintained with an exceptionally clean house. Beds and comfortable with good linens. Cor and Margo take great pride in their property and making sure their guests are looked after. I would highly recommend this property. They have the shared bathrooms set up very well and easy to accommodate all the guests. The kitchen is very well equipped and large enough for multiple guests to use together. The BBQ was very clean and we certainly enjoyed having it available for our use. We had opportunity to meet some wonderful people from other countries and enjoyed hearing about their adventures through New Zealand. Cor and Margo were very knowledge about the area and provided lots of ideas for exploration in the area.

Only things we missed was access to laundry facilities. There are none available on site.
