Sehr schöne Unterkunft direkt in Tempelnähe. Wir waren während dem lebhaften Nallur Festival dort und hatten trotz der zentralen Lage ein ruhiges Zimmer - sehr sauber mit A/C. Der Besitzer kümmerte sich bestens um uns und gab uns Tipps zu Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants. Das Frühstück im Jaffnastyle war fantastisch und reichlich. Würden definitiv wieder kommen!!!

Buen alojamiento en Jaffna, lo mejor es la ubicación ya que está muy cerca del templo. El manager muy atento con nosotros, nos recomendó donde cenar y que visitáramos la isla Nainathivu (creo que es un imprescindible si llegas a Jaffna). Muy buen desayuno. La relación calidad/precio es muy buena.

Haran, the host was extremely helpful and supportive with everything. The breakfast was outstanding in taste and variety. The location is right next to the temple but still quite and settled in a nice garden. Highly recommend for a stay in Jaffna.

Wie in vielen Bewertungen beschrieben, war unser Gastgeber Haran super hilfsbereit und half uns bei all unseren vielen Fragen (Ausflug nach Delft, Tempelbesuch, Wäsche waschen, Weiterreise...), um unseren kurzen Aufenthalt im hohen Norden bestmöglich zu gestalten. Insgesamt waren unsere zwei Tage in Jaffna sehr intensiv und eindrucksvoll. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, vielseitig und nochmal besonderer als in anderen Landesteilen.

The house is lovely run by an extremely kind host. it has been a deep immersion into the local culture. Jaffna is very nice and interesting, totally different from the rest of Sri Lanka and yet very fascinating. The House is located in a central area rich in life and temples. From the house it was very easy to explore the surrounding and its spirituals and naturals gems. Thanks for your hospitality, we really enjoy our stay with you!

What an exceptional host Haran is, with his perfect English’s nd friendly helpful manner. The triple room easily had another bed in it perfect for our family of four and there was plenty of room for us. Breakfasts were amazing and the whole place is at in a lovely quiet garden. We had a great stay here.

The room was perfect, the staff lovely, and Haran the Mabager is fantastic dp very helpful and kind the breakfast was incredible, really enjoyed my stay.

The hospitality was first class. The host will offer the best travel plans, trip ideas, book cars, give uber advice, call train stations - all to make your stay in Jaffna as best as it can be. The breakfasts were also first class. A different local delight was prepared for you each day do you could try something new. They honestly did all they could to make you fess comfortable as possible.

This is a top place to stay in Jaffna. Nallur is a bustling and intriguing suburb, a short tuk tuk ride from the centre. There are some niche sights, a fascinating temple and superb restaurants in walking distance. Haran is an outstanding host, engaging and informative, and his staff are spot on. Very highly recommended. And the breakfasts are excellent.

The care for the well-being of the guests by the host Haran is remarkable. Beyond the comfort and hospitality of the staff, we felt right at home. Beautiful property and grounds and very helpful staff. The owner was very helpful during my stay and made me feel welcomed. Breakfast is outstanding, so tasty and massive - don't plan on eating much else until dinner time! Decent restaurants close by and the temple that you can visit.

I think it was perfect in the price range. It met my expectations.

The house is beautiful, with spacious rooms and a large garden and parking space. During our visit, the mango trees were in season, which added to the charm of the property. The breakfast spread was excellent, and the staff were attentive and readily available whenever needed. One of the biggest advantages is the location—it's right next to Nallur Temple. Finally, the owner, Haran, is always around and happy to share interesting local stories, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

La situation du logement près du temple de Nallur est idéal pour visiter la ville. Le propriétaire a été de très bon conseil pour l’organisation de la suite de notre voyage. Egalement le dîner fait maison était absolument délicieux !

All the staff and Mr Haran in particular were very welcoming. They prepared a Sri Lankan breakfast for us which was a feast and we couldn't eat it all!

The double room downstairs was a little dark and they kindly moved us upstairs.

We had 3 great nights at Nallur Residence. Haran is a wonderful owner and host, supported by a lovely group of ladies who cooked fantastic breakfasts and evening meals. Our room was spacious with a comfy big bed. The location is ideal - near the huge Temple, Rio's ice cream parlour and a great vegetarian restaurant. A perfect stay for Jaffna.

I spent three nights at Nallur Residence and it was a great experience from the beginning to the end. The food was delicious and very authentic! Haran was very helpful, professional, welcoming and kind. He helped me to organise transportation to arrive in Jaffna, gave me food early in the morning for my day-trip to Delft, and had recommendations for visits, transportation and restaurants. On the day of my departure, he even accompanied me to the bus station to make sure I safely caught my night bus to Colombo.

Amazing place to stay in Jaffna. Incredible breakfasts, very comfortable, spacious and clean rooms/bathrooms. Haran is so helpful. Would recommend to anyone. Walking distance to Nallur temple and Rios ice cream. Easy to get around via Uber tuk tuk.

It's pricier than you might expect for Jaffna but it's worth it for the experience you get.

Rooms made up every day. Amazing breakfast. Excellent home cooking optional evening meals. Crab curry was the best meal we have had in Sri Lanka. Beach BBQ, swimming on private beach and tour of the fish farms. Wonderful staff

Très bien située à côté du temple, il s'agit d'une chambre de bonne dimension dans une maison familiale. Les hôtes sont très accueillant et le thé et le déjeuner était exceptionnels.

Nous ne savions pas qu'il s'agissait d'une chambre dans une maison habitée par les hôtes, ce qui nous gêne un peu en général, alors soyez avisés. Il y avait des poussières noires qui sortaient de la climatisation qui mériterait un petit nettoyage.

The hosts are extremely kind and gave us exceptional tips for our trip, including timelines related to train/bus that was not available online. Really helpful. Breakfast was astonishing!! When you go on a day trip, they can give you some lunch.

The accommodation was family run in their family house. The room was very good with a good en suite bathroom. There was a garden to sit in. Nallur residence is in the town with local restaurants in walking distance as well as a temple to visit . We had 1 evening meal cooked by the owner which was delicious. The breakfasts were enormous but very good

Der Besitzer Haran ist sehr hilfsbereit und hat jede Menge Tipps und Ratschläge für den Aufenthalt in der Stadt und Umgebung. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen, große Empfehlung

Merecen un 10 en hospitalidad. El anfitrión nos ha dado muy buenos consejos para aprovechar nuestro día en Jaffna. El desayuno espectacular y muy rico. La ubicación es perfecta, al lado del Templo Nallur Kandaswamy, hay posibilidad de parking privado.

La habitación es muy descuidada, las paredes desconchadas y con manchas de humedad. La puerta del baño es vieja y no cierra. La mosquetera está rota, por lo cual entran insectos. El baño olía mal. El aire acondicionado es muy ruidoso y huele mal, falta manutención.

Guest house très bien située, à quelques pas du temple de Nallur, proche de plusieurs restaurants et notamment du fameux "Rio Ice Cream". Un peu en retrait dans un joli jardin bien entretenu, donc au calme. Chambre simple mais avec l'essentiel (notamment climatisation et ventilateur). Nous avons commandé le dîner le premier soir : délicieux et copieux. Nous avons pu nous régaler avec un poisson entier cuit dans une feuille de bananier. Le propriétaire est sympa, parle bien anglais, et peut répondre à vos questions et vous donner des conseils, sans pour autant être envahissant. Les femmes faisant partie du personnel sont adorables et aux petits soins.

Le dîner est un peu cher pour le pays (environ 8,50€). Un peu d'humidité sur les murs, la peinture écaillée pourrait être refaite

Haran est aux petits soins pour ses hôtes. La maison est très bien placée, juste à côté du temple. Le service et la restauration sont très bons.

Nous étions dans la chambre double : spacieuse mais nécessite un bon coup de remise à neuf. La salle de bain est d’un autre âge …

Super friendly host who provided great info on the surrounding sites. Breakfast was incredible, some of the best food we had in our month travelling Sri Lanka.

Nallur Residence, Haran's family home is a great place to experience real life in Jaffna. The old, typical house is ideally located 100m from the temple and within walking distance of the city center, it's a great place to explore Jaffna, experience its culture, food and architecture. It's also a great place to meet other travelers or learn from Haran, the host. He is very welcoming, helpful and will go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay and a great time in Jaffna. We where truly, happily surprised by the hospitality.

Ideal location and Exceptional customer service! Haran went above and beyond to make sure we had an exceptional stay. What a large spread for breakfast which tasted amazing! The 3 ladies working there are very helpful. Can't thank them enough. Will definitely stay here again!

Had a great breakfast and was impressed by the super friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are reasonably priced, with reliable hot water and good WiFi. The location is a big plus—right in front of Nallur Temple, with shops and restaurants just steps away and the city centre within easy reach. While the rooms and bathrooms could use a bit of an upgrade, everything was clean and comfortable.

Lovely house in pleasant area close to the temple. There were restaurants etc nearby. Our host was fantastically helpful, and cooked the most amazing Sri Lankan breakfast. It was the most memorable stay of our trip.

Haran, the host, was super helpful and kind, going out of his way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. He knew our daughter loved mangoes and - despite it being out of season - managed to find some at a market 8km away! He also took me on his bike to find delicious patties and rolls at a preferred bakery.

We had a lovely stay at Nallur Residence. The house is lovely with a beautiful garden, the rooms are very spacious, and the breakfast is delicious!! Haran and all his staff (Sumathi, Malliga and Natasha) are so helpful, Haran helped us with organising all of our daytrips and with recommending good places to visit. We would definitely stay here again.

Great stay at a convenient location, but the highlights for us were the hospitality of the staff and the amazing breakfast! I sometimes still find myself craving their breakfast.

The entrance is narrow, but this is only an issue if you're bringing a very large vehicle. We still managed with some careful driving by our driver. This wouldn't be an issue for 99% of vehicles.

Staying at Nallur Residence truly feels like being at home, thanks to the warm welcome and excellent hospitality of Mr. Haran. I stayed there for a week while visiting the Jaffna Library and University for my research, and the location was incredibly convenient for commuting. The place is calm, perfect for relaxing and reading. The breakfast was exceptional, with a generous serving of fresh fruits. Additionally, unlimited water bottles, tea, and coffee are included in the stay, making it even more comfortable. The staff is attentive and ensures a pleasant stay—they change sheets and clean the rooms whenever you request. We will definitely choose this place again whenever we visit Jaffna. The location is also ideal for evening strolls along Nallur Temple Road, which is a delightful experience. As I am native to Tamil Nadu, it felt like home—there was no difference at all. Highly recommended!

Very relaxed, friendly and helpful manager and staff. The standout feature of our stay was the breakfast, which is freshly cooked and will keep you going till dinner time! I have a gluten allergy and the manager made a special point of cooking food which I could eat.

We loved the location, with its easy walk to the temple and proximity to town. However, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly Mr. Haran's exceptional hospitality. It was truly like visiting relatives.

Best location for us as we were able to go to Temple by walk, Town is near by, Most of all the host Mr. Haran is an excellent host going out of the way to help the guests. We felt like we have visited our relatives and stayed with them.

The Tuk-Tuk charges were high, It is an Old (40+Yrs) property and because of humidity the wooden doors were difficult to open and close..but that is a very minor hick-up when compared to the hospitality offered.

The location is excellent. Jaffna town is only a 10-minute drive. Easy access to Jaffna train station,Jaffna Airport, and the main roads connecting other tourist attractions in the county I have stayed in many hotels in different parts of Srilanka. I confidently say that the 5 nights stay at this residence was the most relaxing, easy-going, and trouble-free stay I ever had in Srilanka. Haran, the owner/manager, is one of the most well-informed and helpful people you can come across. Organising daily breakfast according to the individual needs, transports and advice about the local restaurants etc etc! He even gave us few dollars worth of discount on the final bill!! Customers have to remember that this residence is a 3 star rated hotel but the hospitality you receive is worth 4-5star.

The facilities in the room were quite basic. There is no TV in the room. These did not bother me because we were visiting places during the daytime. The room needs some upgrades and maintenance.

Really wonderful accommodations and friendly, kind host that makes you feel right at home. Beautiful home and large room with powerful a/c and an incredible breakfast every morning. This is my home away from home in Jaffna from now on.

The location is easily accessible, and it has a large yard where we could safely park our car. The breakfast was extremely plentiful and diverse. The host did everything to fulfill our requests, whether it was about the city's attractions, a good restaurant, or a great excursion. We especially enjoyed the Tamil Santa celebration during our stay, which was an extraordinary experience. We also loved the city of Jaffna, which we were able to fully explore thanks to the central location of this place.

The accommodation could use a bit of an update in terms of furniture, but the host’s helpfulness and kindness more than made up for such minor inconveniences.

Harran and his team were very excellent and efficient. They are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had plenty of choices. Authentic Sri Lankan /Western Breakfast with exotic fruits/juice. They also provide good lunch /dinner at reasonable cost, if you would to have home cooked meal. It is located in very convenient place opposite to the famous Nallur temple. It was fascinating hearing the history of the residence.. Very much enjoyed the stay. We are coming here since 2017 as feel like home to home. We will come back again. Great Place to go if you're in Jaffna. Very good location next to Nallur Temple, with shops and restaurants around. The house you stay at is big and beautiful. Haran, the host, makes you feel like you are at home. Haran and his team are very helpful, kind and open for conversations. Breakfast is very delicious and made from heart.

Some people wrote that the bathroom is not in good condition, we did not experience that. Bathroom is tidy but very normal and clean.

What a pleasure it was to spend an evening talking with Mathan and friends. These are the interactions that you don't get in a hotel. This is what travel is all about. Loved the experience. The ladies in the kitchen/ cleaning were awesome. Wow, what a breakfast.

Also, Haran offered breakfast food for the children and accommodated their dietary needs, which was peace of mind for our family.

The property is not in great condition and not very clean

This is a large and comfortable family home, and really feels like a semi-luxurious homestay. The host Haran was very caring and kind, and the Sri Lankan breakfast was extremely generous and the best we had anywhere. They also did our laundry (for a 'tip') and cooked us a lovely seafood dinner one night. Also brought breakfast to the train station as we were leaving early - really amazing service. The room was a great place to chill out in the afternoon heat, with multiple windows overlooking a lovely garden. it's a great neighbourhood to walk around too, to get to know Jaffna.

Bathroom not quite up to general standard.

The location is as central as you would like to be in Jaffna. The facilities are a bit faded but the breakfast spread and the service from the owner Haran and all the other star is on a different level. Myself and my family agree that our stay was 11 out of 10 simply because of how Haran and his Team made us feel. We wish Haran and Team all the very best

Haran the host was the most helpful we have met. He arranged everything from tours, places to visit and where the best food places to eat. When asked about where to eat out on our final night, he decided to cook us a meal and it was delicious. Breakfasts were outstanding each morning with fresh fruit and home cooked Sri Lankan Jaffna tucker.

We had requested a ground floor room but unfortunately, he was fully booked and the ground floor rooms were given to a family group that needed 2 rooms close together. This was a little inconvenience and more than made up for by his helping out on all requests. Only downfall was the lack of hot water because the heating system was being replaced and had not been installed in time for us.
