Szczelność drzwi/okien pozostawia wiele do życzenia - nad ranem było bardzo zimno (luty/marzec). Na szczęście w pokoju jest klimatyzacja, której niestety nie włączyliśmy.

Reviewed Oct 1, 2025Absolutely the sweetest little cottage and kind family that owns it!! Host was super helpful and accommodating. She left food in the fridge for us to make sandwiches and a few drinks! We even got a cuddle in from their sweet cat that lived nearby! The cottage was warm and inviting. Not a ton of places to eat out but the few places they have are great! 10/10 would stay her again. Perfect place to stop on our way from Te Anua to Queenstown!

Bonus having a kitchen with a decent sized fridge, hotplate and air fryer! Also appreciate that there are continental breakfast options available. 10/10 thanks again

Coming from Australia we found the weather chilly and could keep the heat-pump on even when not at the property so that when we came back it was toasty warm. Lots of extras supplied which I wasn't expecting but was really appreciated. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the immaculate cleanliness of the cottage. It was evident that Cara takes great pride in maintaining a pristine environment for her guests. The cottage was equipped with a full suite of facilities and amenities that truly enhanced my stay. Every detail seemed to have been thoughtfully considered, and I very much appreciated the completeness of what was provided. The added touch of a delicious breakfast was also a highlight, and a testament to Cara's exceptional hospitality. In fact, the quality of my stay was so outstanding that I would compare it to that of a 4 or 5-star hotel. Cara's attention to detail, the comfort of the cottage, and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Cara's cottage to anyone seeking a truly exceptional and memorable stay in New Zealand.

Reviewed Mar 11, 2025Breakfast was a very nice gesture, just we had dietary restrictions. (Oops think we left our yogurt behind!! ) Very cosy, home-y, clean, warm welcome. If we had known it was so nice, we would have stayed 2 nights with you instead of 2 nights in Dunedin.
The sign in the hedge was hard to see. Wish we could've stayed longer.

Our preference would have been more firmer bed pillows. Everything else was absolutely great!

Reviewed Mar 18, 2024We didn’t actually choose Lumsden it chose us because we couldn’t find accommodation in Te Anau so this turned out to be serendipitous because Lumsden was so perfect. It was the most delightful wee village and a perfect central location to other spots in this area. We would love to return and wouldn’t now naturally choose Te Anau.
