Very friendly contact and service, we got delayed due to heavy rainfalls and the accommodation reacted very flexible! Cute village!
We had a truly wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Abdullah was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the staff were all friendly, attentive, and professional throughout. The food was absolutely delicious, with a lovely authentic local flavour that made the experience even more special. We also really appreciated being shown the museum, it added a unique and personal touch to our stay
The location is quite remote, so having a car is helpful.
The location is very good. Views from the terraces very good.
The special needs of my old mother were ignored. At first they promised a room on the first floor. And they tried very hard to push us into the back extension of the hotel which very poor location and on tricky slope. They should be honest that in the main hotel the only rooms available were 3 flights to climb and left the decision to us. I will not trust them again.
The hotel room was comfortable and clean. There was a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast and dinner were amazing in terms of quality and variety. Lots of healthy options and they also cater for vegan/vegetarians. The best part was our tour of the museum - Abdullah’s grandfather’s house with Abdullah (the owner) himself. Do not skip this!!
There were lots of steep stairs to get to the room. This was not an issue for us but it may be something worth considering for others.
An extraordinary place in the middle of old Misfah. Very authentic and quaint. Large amounts of good food and coffee. It was also really interesting to learn the history of the place during the local museum tour guided by the owner. The vast efforts put by him and his team into preserving, restoring, and reviving the historical center are truly astonishing.
One of the best locations in Misfat, this old heritage house is a true gem. Abdullah (the owner) put a lot of work into this hotel - and it pays off with many different rooms and very good Omani cuisine. We especially liked that they offered Omani coffee and also the "Chill-out" area is supernice, with a great view of the village! We had a nice room with a balcony, that gave us the opportunity to have the windows open at night, since the AC is very noisy. Breaktfast and dinner are exactly what Oman makes so special: a great touch of the local cuisine. Abdullah also gave us a nice tour through the village museum.
AC is very noisy (at least in our room...) - other than that, everything was great!
The location, the history, the views, the authentic hospitality offered by Mr. Abdullah and his team. I loved every minute. This is really a special place !
Overall it was a great stay but be aware that due to this authentic experience it is not best for older guests with mobility issues as they may not be accustomed to all the steps and steep terrain
Don’t miss this amazing place when visiting Misfah, ideally placed, you’ll have the best view on the valley. The room was great, food was very good as well. Be careful, you’ll have to walk to get in the village, there’s quite a few stairs. Avoid bringing your entire suitcase.
Nothing, we had a great stay
Amazing story and tour over a museum by the owner, we appreciated welcoming atmosphere and great location. We were with kids and climbing up to our room was not always easy)
Very nice tour to the museum close to the hotel by the owner
Everyone working at the guest house was lovely and helpful, even with carrying our luggage, and Abdullah the manager was super helfpul and responsive! The views from the different terraces are amazing and there are lots of seats in the communal areas to take them in. The food both for dinner and breakfast is also really nice and quite varied, lots of starters/salads/fruits etc.
I must say we were expecting to stay in one of the traditional mud bedrooms in the older part of the guesthouse as that's the impression we got from the pictures on booking, so we were a bit disappointed when we were taken to a different part of the building which is like an extension of the original house (lots of stairs to get there can be tricky if you're carrying loads of stuff like we were) and is just a normal basic room that is not worth the price as much as the others, where you pay for the experience. I think that affected our experience a bit if I had to point to one less-positive thing
A true hidden gem in Misfah. Staying here was a unique and unforgettable experience in one of the oldest villages in Oman. What we appreciated most was how beautifully they have preserved the village’s authentic character while thoughtfully creating a welcoming space for visitors. So often, places lose their identity when adapting to tourism, but that is absolutely not the case here. The accommodation allows you to experience the true spirit and humanity of the village while enjoying comfort and warm hospitality. The owners were incredibly supportive and kind, helping us plan our trips to Jebel Shams and organizing our return to Nizwa, which made our journey smooth and convenient. If you are looking for an authentic and meaningful stay in Oman, this is the place to be.
Nothing
Stunning property in the heart of the village. Views were panoramic from our room. Staff were polite, kind and very knowledgeable about the area. The museum tour was an added bonus!

We absolutely loved our stay at Al Misfah. The facility is run my Mr Abdullah and his brother, who are extremely proud of their heritage and history. The rooms were fantastic and literally took us back in time. The house next door has been converted to a museum and showcases the way of living in Misfah from the past - tour delivered by Mr Abdullah again. We enjoyed the opportunity to get into traditional Omani clothes and take pictures. The breakfast and dinner is of good quality - traditional and showcases local produce, e.g. honey, date syrup, etc. The same products are available for sale in the next door gift shop at reasonable prices. Although the village consists of narrow walkways, everyone in the hotel was willing to help with luggage’s and anything that we needed. Thank you again, for the fantastic Omani experience.
The location is really nice and feels authentic with a great view over the surrounding landscape. Breakfast and Dinner are local foods and super delicious, the buffet is served at the Roof terrace. Everyone was very kind and helpful and the Tour through the Family Museum was interesting. We would definitly recommend staying here if one wants to experience an authentic stay near Jebel shams.

Toplage, freundliches Personal,tolles Essen
Fehlanzeige
Misfah Al Abriyyin is a place suspended in time. The property has very spacious and charming rooms. Dinner is traditional and plentiful, served on a beautiful terrace overlooking the palm grove. Recommended.
Very clean and comfortable and the food was good. The museum tour is a must.
alles was in orde
One of our favourite stops during our 3 weeks in Oman. A stay here is an experience - from the internal decorations, the rooftop terrace, and the helpfulness of Abdullah and his staff. We appreciated the free family museum trip to the owners grandfathers house; and the DBB experience meant that after a busy day you were under no pressure and could relax. Reasonably good food and more authenically Omani than in other small hotels we stayed in during our trip.
Accessibility: I am blind and this property is gloriously unaccessible (which did add to the fantastic experience of staying here). If you use a wheelchair I would strike this place straight off your list with the old village. it was like an assault course both through its narrow streets and up into the building. The staff were great though and willing to help, and we were given a room close to the rood terrace to ease navigation. If you are prepared and work things out in advance with the owner about your abilities, this can be a great and unique stay.
Very interesting location, excellent service, family ownership that shows.
Arrival late afternoon was very crowded and difficult to park - once dusk settled we were able to move our vehicle closer. The streets are very tight - as are the stairwells!
Owner is a very kind man. The museum tour was very good.
Expected a more traditional kind of room.
Wonderful terrace to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. The host was extremely pleasant, introduced the life and history of the village perfectly, made a visit to the museum he created. Perfectly silent night - loved that! Breakfast and dinner were very delicious.
Excellent Breakfast and dinner. Homemade and very delicious.
Friendly staff,good food,nice terasse
The room was not in the old house. The room was pretty simple, bathroom as well.As we stayed 2 days, I expect that the room and bathroom should be cleaned.

Great location, great staff
The bathroom could have needed some cleaning
We loved our stay at Al Misfah Hospitality Inn! Mr. Abdullah Al Abri is the owner and served as a wonderful host. The stay includes breakfast and dinner buffet, which were delicious. We really liked being able to sample Omani cuisine. The entire village felt like an archeology museum and Abdullah shares his family roots in this village. He is using the revenue from tourism to continue to preserve this beautiful historic village - so it feels good to support him in this mission. Our entire family (adults and kids) enjoyed our experience here! Stay for at least 2 nights to get the most out of your time.
Parking was challenging. The village was not designed for cars. We appreciated getting help from the staff at hotel on where to park. Better instructions on how to find the Inn entrance (need to park in a temporary space in the village, then walk pass the Village Gate, for about 3 minutes to get to the Inn).
Nice staff and great location. Don't miss the museum tour by the owner!
Very thick pillows
Zanzare in camera
Really fantastic trip to Misfah, looking forward to coming back and staying longer. Unique hotel and architecture if you are in the area. I only had one night, but there are incredible places to visit nearby.
Not the fault of the hotel, but the town feels a little overly touristic. All things change over time, but I imagine it would have been lovely to visit twenty years ago! The food was promising but as they serve for a large clientele it is buffet style, which means you have to take your meals early to get it just after cooking.
Clean and well appointed.
Food was ok, faucet on sink was loose. Felt like it was going to fall off.
Elke kamer is anders.
Buona colazione e cena
È andato tutto bene
Lage, Personal, Essen, Ort
Viele Stufen, aber ist halt so.
La terrazza ha una vista meravigliosa. La stanza grande e spaziosa. Cena e colazione buoni.
Mi è piaciuto tutto.
Abdullah and his staff were extremely helpful with details about the area and other practicalities. They were very visible around the hotel and always friendly and ready to assist. The hotel is wonderfully different in that it is re-furbished buildings to make a hotel, not originally designed as such. It is indicative of the housing in the village and consequently extremely authentic. The eating balcony looks out over the hills and valleys below and provides wonderful views of the sunrise and sunset. A splendid way to start and finish the day. The food is delicious, very varied, local and home cooked and again extremely authentic. The location is ideal for trekking and car trips to the surrounding area. The area is very different to Muscat.
The car parking was a little problematic and involved a walk from the car. However the staff were very helpful with the carriage.
The room was decorated in traditional Omani style. The price of the room included dinner and breakfast buffet on the terrace of the hotel. The food was predominantly prepared with local ingredients and was very rich in flavor. The view from the terrace was rewarding, with the old town and date / palm trees right below. Abdullah, the owner, has converted his paternal house into an informative museum. Highly recommend the experience!!
One of the rooms we stayed in did not have sufficient natural light.
Authentic old hotel in Al Misfah run by a local family. The owner and the staff are very friendly and make you feel so welcome. Breakfast and dinner was delicious homemade food. Every day at 5 pm the owner offers a guided tour in his museum and tells about the history of Al Misfah and the people living there - don’t miss that 😊
Authentic experience of staying in an old village house. Great museum tour by the owner
Breakfast and dinner were simple, yet very VERY good! The highlight is the old house and the owner/host. Shared history about the village and his family while visiting the museum (1hr duration).
i could not name one thing, really!
