When I arrived, I already had a total flying time of over 30 hours (including layover) and I was exhausted. Before sleeping I wanted to open the AC, I noticed a lizard on the AC's side. I called Jean Pierre (the owner) and he came and tried to bug spray, and to my absolute horror, approximately 400 ants fell onto the floor, and 100 others climbed up. I was able to take a picture of the ants up top but not the lizards. Then, I woke up and stepped into a puddle that turned out to be the AC leaking. Proof of AC leaking is attached Here are some geckos I found on the entrance too (attached). ANDDD here is a MOUSE THAT WAS RIGHT ON TOP OF THE DOOR. The room also had bloody sheets. And the room had a lot of dirty unclean things like animal poop. To add insult to injury, I ordered some food and laid it on the patio and went inside the house to use the bathroom; when I came back out to take it, it was gone. MY FOOD WAS GONE. I was supposed to stay 5 days and 4 nights from (September 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th). I left September 4th, I only stayed for 24h.

Really nice the owner. Gave us recommendations and the house is at a walking distance to every place in tamarin. Nice walk in the residencial area. Safe.

Man konnte von dort alle wichtigen Attraktionen gut anfahren. Außerdem hat man einen schönen Sonnenuntergang. Der Host ist sehr nett und gibt auf Nachfrage Tipps etc Preis Leistung ist Top!

Das Bett war etwas unbequem. Generell ist die Ausstattung etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Mr. Jean Pierre was very nice, he advised about what to see and told us some things about Mauritius. We had a nice stay, kitchen needs some update and bathrooms are a bit low.

Sehr netter Gastgeber, er ist sehr zuvorkommend und nett und hat uns sogar einen Abend zum Hafen gefahren, weil es kein Taxi mehr gab, die Unterkunft ist mit Google Maps etwas schwer zu finden, am besten vorher anrufen, er hilft gerne. Das Zimmer mit Küche ist sehr geräumig und die Anlage mit den Palmen sehr hübsch

Jean Pierre est quelqu’un de très gentil, la maison est magnifique, je ne peux que recommander fortement !

Jean Pierre war ein sehr freundlicher Gastgeber, der sich um alles gekümmert hat. Er hat uns sogar mal zum Bäcker und zum Einkaufen gefahren, da wir die ersten Tage kein Auto hatten. Auch hat er uns eine tolle Empfehlung zum Schnorcheln und für ein Restaurant gegeben. Die Lage am Berg Tourelle war fantastisch, mit wunderbarem Ausblick auf das Meer und den Sonnenuntergang. Toll war auch, dass wir den Pool benutzen konnten, da das Meer etwas weit weg war. Mit Auto ist die Gegend perfekt um den wunderbaren Süden Mauritius zu erkunden.

Very nice accommodation that’s has been taken care of. The landlord is a very sweet guy!

It’s close to Tamarin beach. The owner is quite friendly and welcoming. The place clean and well maintained. They have a Tennis court if one wants to play some Tennis

The common area was shared. The bathroom seemed to be created under the stairwell and was slant, so you’ve to be really careful while entering the bathroom to brush your teeth or poop. We bumped into the slant ceiling twice and hurt our heads. Lastly the bathroom barely has any space for one to turn around, it’s quite cramped

L'appartamento era ampio, ben organizzato, la vista dalla cucina e sala bella. Il proprietario gentile e disponibile. Aria condizionata comoda nelle stanze come le pale nella zona pranzo . Parcheggio all'interno della struttura comodo. Possibilità di giocare a tennis o fare il bagno nella piscina . Ottima ricezione wifi. Nelle vicinanze comodo supermercato.

L'appartamento presentava delle crepe sui muri, la pulizia era sufficiente (diciamo migliorabile).

Special thanks to Jean Pierre who is a superstar. He gives the place a very homely and relaxed atmosphere, always friendly and happy to help. Highly recommended.

Hostitel je velice milý, se vším rád pomůže. Ubytování je v dobré lokalitě, umístěné pod kopcem, mohli jsme nerušeně relaxovat u bazénu. Samotné ubytování je menší, ale dostačující. Co trochu považuji za negativum ne to, že z popisu nijak nevyplývá že kuchyň je společná pro dva pokoje, takže pro sebe máte jen menší ložnici a terasu.

Fijne verblijfsplek in Tamarin. Wel net even wat verder weg van het stadje en activiteiten die we hadden geboekt, maar met de auto is alles goed te bereiken en is dit een heerlijk rustige uitvalsbasis. Fijn zwembad, goede airco, nette kamers en dichtbij een supermarkt.

Location is passable

It was dirty - the walls, doors, furniture - cockroaches on the floor…. Disappointing

Lo que no me gusto fue que había mucha suciedad, estaba desatendido, mobiliario viejo y el edificio estaba bastante deteriorado. Las fotografías del anuncio no corresponde con la realidad. El desayuno que ofrece incluido en ningún momento se nos ofreció.

My stay was nothing short of amazing, thanks largely to my incredible host, Jean. From the moment I arrived, he went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. He even generously offered to taxi me to the shops for groceries—a thoughtful gesture that really set the tone for the rest of my visit. The property itself is wonderful. The pool is absolutely lovely—perfect for a refreshing dip or relaxing by the water. I only wish I had found the time to use the tennis courts, which looked fantastic and well maintained. Jean’s warmth and hospitality made this stay truly memorable. I felt genuinely cared for, and it’s rare to experience that level of dedication. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-hosted getaway. I’ll definitely be back!

It’s walking distance from the beach but in a same time it’s hidden from crowded places and from the main road. Which makes it super quiet, calm environment. View of the place is spectacular - from one side I saw mountain from another ocean! Host Jean- Pierre is super helpful and hospitable. Place is clean and housekeeper visits and keeps it clean for guests. Stayed there for 5 days but felt like at home.

Very pleasant host - Jean-Pierre who welcomed us on arrival and gave us information about local amenties - restaurants/bars. Powerful AC, very clean pool and comfy bed! Shared kitchen had a large fridge and had all the essentials Plenty of room for parking. Very peaceful. The nearby SuperU is huge and well stocked!

The bathroom could use a few hooks to hang towels after use. We got directed by Google maps down some dead-end/private roads in Tamarin. There is not alot of street lighting away from the main road, Jean-Pierre advised us to drive to/from the local restaurants, which we did, but we were quite suprised about!

Air conditioning did not work properly. Had to turn off as too cold and not adjustable. Our room had the view to a tennis court.

All in all, this was a nice place to stay. The owner/host was lovely and was a great source of information since he had been born on the island and had also lived on Reunion for many years. He also went out of his way to help me - I had not rented a car - by offering to give me a ride to the supermarket (nice big one about 25 minutes away on foot) and beach (La Preneuse public beach is about 35 minutes on foot) and by dropping me off where he knew I would be able to find a taxi when I moved on to the next place I was staying. The breakfast was simple but sufficient, the bed was comfortable, with a maid making it for me every morning and the bathroom was also really big , though really tall people may need to duck going into the toilet or shower. I also had a lovely little covered terrace to sit on, which was nice when it was raining.

This is just informational and not a specific dislike. The room I had shared a living and kitchen space with another room. For me this was fine because the young couple in the other room were quiet and, although they used the kitchen to cook their dinner each evening, they were happy to socialise when I wanted to use the kitchen, but it may be problematic if the neighbours are noisy. Also, be aware that Google maps is a work of fiction in this location because the place has seen a lot of development in the past few years, but that's not the fault of the property.

The breakfast was simple but lovely. The host was very nice and friendly. The pool was nice and the rooms big enough. Would stay here again!

Maps show that you can walk places in 10 minutes this is not true due to construction. You really need transportation but once you have that all is close :)

In the morning, already 8am, noise coming from the tennis court or garden maintenance. The 2 bedroom apartment has a squash court just below and there lessons are also in the morning and evening time

Thank you for the great stay. The apartment was comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped. The breakfast was basic but good.

My friend and I are super happy with this accommodation. We loved our host, Jean-Pierre. He really took great care of us, we enjoyed having morning conversations with him during breakfast. He gave amazing advice for places to visit around the island. We also enjoyed learning about his life and Mauritius. He was also very helpful, if we had a problem or needed assistance. Location is great, if you have a car. It is in a quiet street and you even see the ocean a little bit. It is very green, with loads of plants. There is also a small pool :)

The only thing that we would have loved to have would be a bit more storage space next to the bed.

Good price, location and nice room. Jean Pierre was very friendly and let me use the room after check out as I had a late flight. Would happily recommend

Huge space, few guests felt nice and private, lovely facilities, clean amenities, incredibly welcoming and kind host, great location in a fun town, which itself is well situated within the country - honestly my favourite stay anywhere, ever! Thanks so much JP!!!

Property was great, only minor improvements would be: more utensils provided for cooking, and not sure if the floor is vacuumed as a part of its daily clean

This place is amazing for exploring this part of island. We had every day very tasty breakfaest. There is nice swimming pool, tennis court and squash court and also amazing view :) Owner Mr Pierre is such nice and friendly person. As former tennis player and tennis couch he like every sport. We definitely recommend this place and i hope we will return one day :)

Jean pierre is really kind and helpful. He helped us plan our hikes and days out and gave us local advice. The location is perfect for exploring black river national park and chamerel. We hired a car so this was ideal. The shared kitchen space is perfect if you want to eat at the guest house. The pool is a very welcome addition after a long hot day exploring.

The location near the mountains means mosquitos. Lots. We were prepared and this is to be expected but worth a mention. Also, no restaurants within easy walking distance. A short drive to eateries.

Nice clean room in a beautiful garden. I recommend a car (free parking). The owner is very nice and helpfull. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruit from the garden. Lovely pool and sea view from tje terrace!

Jean Pierre and his wife Irina are wonderful human beings. It was an awesome experience. The breakfast was the most favorite part of the day. When you start the day with fresh fruit salad and an amazing crunchy baguette (the best I’ve ever had!) with butter on top of it, drink fresh coffee and share with each other about your plans for today. It felt like family time. Jean Pierre is so caring like an angel who helped me with literally everything. I felt so comfortable. It was a unique experience I will never forget.

Breakfast was good and the host good company. We would have liked some cheese at the table and instant coffee but it was still adequate. lovely views to have breakfast while admiring the catamarans following the dolphins .
