Un endroit charmant entretenu avec soin. Nous avons passé 4 nuits au calme. La chambre est confortable, l’espace douche est fonctionnel et propre. Les petits déjeuner étaient variés et très bien fournis . Nous avons eu l’occasion de dîner 2 fois sur place et les curry étaient chaque fois différents et, copieux et goûteux. Les grottes de Dambulla ne sont qu’à 15min à pieds et sont intéressantes à visiter. Le frère de la propriétaire est chauffeur de tuktuk. Il nous a conduit en toute sécurité à lion’s rock, pollonaruwa (où il nous a déposé de temple en temple toute la journée; on a même pu voir des éléphants au bord de la route (pas besoin de safari !!!). Il a même proposé de nous accompagner jusqu’à Nilaveli.

Préférez l’option climatisation si vous craignez la chaleur car le ventilateur fait pas mal de bruit. Nous avons choisi de dormir fenêtres ouvertes sous la moustiquaire et la température était agréable sans ventilateur…

My wife and I stayed 1 week in this family guesthouse and we loved very much our stay there! The family is very friendly and Nirosha, the woman of the house, is very smily, very friendly and helpful. She tries always to help as much as possible. Staying there is experiencing a family guesthouse, with all the family living downstairs. They don't speak very good English but it's not a problem, we could always find a way to understand each other. The garden is beautiful, and the view of the lake from it is very pleasant and relaxing, especially from the rocking chair in the garden. :) The breakfasts were really good with some local dishes and fruits and tea. They are super flexible about the time of the breakfasts and the dishes you would prefer too. Our room was very clean, quiet and quite big for the two of us. The terrace beside the room is also very nice for having tea or doing your yoga practice as we did every morning :-)) The guesthouse is a little bit outside the noise of the city, which is perfect! You just need to call a tuktuk/or a taxi with the appli "Pick me" to drive you everywhere. Well, we totally recommend this family guesthouse for a stay in Dambula! :-)

We don't have anything in mind that could be improved, as for us our stay there was beyond our expectations. We thank again Nirosha and hiw husband for having been so nice with us :-)

Nous avons apprécié la communication et surtout l’emplacement ! Une vue juste wow à 2 pas des deux montagnes. Une salle de bain comme vous en avez jamais vue et la climatisation pour compléter le tout. La nourriture est bonne et servi à l’heure souhaitée. Nous recommandons ! Taras z pięknym widokiem, śliczny ogród, blisko do miasta i do wejścia do Cave Temple. Spokojna okolica. Pyszne śniadania i kolacje. Cudowna Pani gospodyni. Brat właściciela ma samochód i w dobrych cenach zrobi wycieczki i zawiezie do kolejnej lokalizacji. Możliwość zrobienia prania. Klima za dopłatą ale jest - warto dopłacić! Bardzo ciepła woda pod prysznicem! Łazienka w standardzie lankijskim.

Dziwny zapach w pokojach, niby to wilgoć, niby z rury w łazience. Jeden z pokoi łatwo wywietrzyć, drugi trudniej. Prysznic, który zalewa całą łazienkę w jednym z pokoi. Dość ciemno w pokojach.

Uno dei posti più belli dove ho soggiornato, immerso nella pace assoluta lontano dal centro, raggiungibile facilmente con un tuk tuk. La proprietaria meravigliosa, gentile e riservata, colazione pazzesca e sempre diversa, insieme a scoiattoli e scimmiette, canto degli uccelli, mi ha preparato anche la cena ogni sera diversa, non me ne volevo più andare, sono rimasta 4 notti solo per la bellezza di quella guest house. Con una bella passeggiata di circa mezz’ora lungo una strada bucolica e piacevolissima, si arriva al golden temple. Ci tornerei.

A piedi è un po’ distante dal centro ma ne vale la pena per il posto.

We loved our stay at Sashin Lake Resort. It's simple but clean, and the family who runs the business is super helpful. It's faced a lovely lake and the breakfast was wonderful. We highly recommend.

the hotel is near by lake.there are beautiful view and garden. there are many kinds of birds around. we can often see monkey play on the tree. totally the nature environment is very good. this hotel is runned by a family,they provided warmly service. we had a nice holiday in this hotel.

Lage direkt am See mit Sitzmöglichkeiten im Garten. Lage etwas abseits, man braucht ein Transportmittel. Die Inhaberin hat abends sehr lecker gekocht, vegetarisch und nicht scharf.

Proprietaria gentilissima e sempre sorridente. Oasi di relax a 5 min di Tuk Tuk dal centro caotico cittadino, con giardino molto curato di fronte al lago. Accoglienza fantastica. Colazione molto buona. A 30 min a piedi dal Cave Temple.

Run by a lovely family, the large room was very clean, comfortable and overall excellent value in a really nice location on the lake and very close to the cave temple. They collected me from the bus stop and even took me over to the cave and back. Fabulous breakfast overlooking the lake 💞👌

Not many restaurants nearby but if you're adventurous try the little local eatery called Roo Foods

They were so kind and friendly and it was very nice and quiet place.

De gastheer met zijn familie waren erg hartelijk. De kamer was ruim, netjes, WiFi was goed, fijne badkamer en lekkere bedden. Het ontbijt was heerlijk. Iedere dag werden we met iets nieuws verrast.

Anders dan andere reviews zeggen is het gebruik maken van de Tuktuk service niet bij de prijs inbegrepen.

Está a media hora andando de los templos, tiene un tuk tuk que te escribe antes de tu llegada para buscarte (hay que pagarlo), nos recibieron con un zumo y el desayuno entra en el precio. La habitación estaba limpia y el baño era amplio.

Nos preguntaron si queríamos cenar, dijimos que sí y nos costó 7USD por persona, lo cual me parece bastante caro para lo que nos pusieron que era comida local. Te piden pagar 9USD más si quieres encender el aire acondicionado. Creo que es muy caro para la zona en la que está.

Breakfast was exceptional Garden tranquil, family gentle and not pushy. Restful. I’ll put garden seats in at home now, as found this a wonderfully calming garden .

Upstairs not safe for toddler around side by washing line. The family are finishing up some board etc to line our garage .

This place is so peaceful with well kept gardens overlooking the lake. Wonderful hosts they made tasty food and were excellent

A Perfect Lakeside Getaway! We had an amazing stay at Shashin Lake Resort! The location is absolutely stunning, right next to the lake, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. A walk around the lake is a must—it's so relaxing and refreshing. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very hygienic, making our stay comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of fresh and tasty options. The entire environment is calm and quiet, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a serene and beautiful place to unwind. Can’t wait to visit again!

the owners were so friendly and the view was amazing, supermarket close by, tasty breakfasts, and the owners brother is a tuk tuk driver who took us out to places, waited for us, and took us home for a very good price. would definitely recommend.

The stay couln't have been better! The host are extremly friendly and helpful. They welcome you from their hearts. Delicious breakfast, wonderful location at a lake, quiet. Big and very clean rooms, balcony. We had dinner there, used the laundry service, and they organized us a tuk tuk driver - Chamara - who gave us very good rates and even took us on slight detours to a beautiful lake temple, ... Wonderful stay, wonderful people, we can highly recommend staying there!

This is one of the nicest places we have stayed. A little out of the busy town in a beautiful location. Quiet comfortable and the family are very friendly. A true home from home. The home cooking is fabulous. Highly highly recommended.

AC shouldn't be an extra

We paid just 34 USD per one night for 5 persons and did not expected mush. So, it was not much, as expected.

- I think overall Booking rating system in Sri Lnka are skewed upwards. So, take out 1-3 points after carefully reading reviews. Start with bad ones. To the hotel: - The style is ok. I like simple wooden furniture. But I do not like dusty musty smell which reminds me of my late great grandmother. You can not afford not to change matresses and other potentially smelly things, let's say, every 5 years in such climate. And it's better to wash everything that can be washed on regular basis. - Rooms are small and gloomy. I understand that the lack of sun is considered good here. But not by me. - Additional charde for aircon is 7 USD. We rarely use them at all, but what the heck? - We did not like the breakfast. It was small and there were way too many carbohydrates. I would add eggs at least. So, bring along with you e.g more fruits. Butter or above mantioned egges. - It was not noisy but I was ever that any noise I make can be heard outside.

The host was incredibly nice and helpful! She arranged Tuk Tuks for us even for sigiriya for a fair price and the food we ate there was amazing!

The fan was not working unfortunately, but we just opened the windows at night and used a mosquito net :)

The location is perfect: in a quiet road facing the lake. You may reach the Temple Rock entrance very easily on foot, and buses to Kurenegala, Kandy and Colombo stop right at the crossing with the main road. The city centre is 15 minutes walking and from there you may also catch the bus to Sigiriya, which only costs 100rps. Otherwise, they offer a tuk tuk service for 2500-2200rps, which is a fair price (PickMe price is 2070rps, but doesn’t really work in Dambulla), but during the ride the driver constantly tries to sell you stuff or take you to the Spice Garden which is a well known scam in the area. The breakfast was amazing both for the food and the garden where you take it: you may spot so many different birds whilst sitting there you will be amazed. There is also a beautiful terrace where to sit. Also is a family run guesthouse, which I prefer over big hotels and resorts that are destroying small business. On the main road you have plenty of choices of local restaurants.

It’s quite hard to communicate, although I do understand they do try do make you at ease. The room is a bit dark and might be cleaned better.

The owners are super nice and friendly, it's a family business. The guest house is facing a lake, it's surrounded by nature, there are many birds and no trafic which is perfect ! You can also just walk to the caves temple. Breakfast was homemade and so good! Thank you for everything !

Really nice family held little hostel. We were welcomed warmly with a glass of juice and they made us breakfast extra early as we needed to leave for safari. Overall lovely experience!

The view on the lake and the garden of the property are beautiful. We enjoyed this the most. There are only three rooms which keeps the place very quiet so you can really enjoy the nature surrounding you. The hosts and their family are very kind and do their best to make youfeel comfortable. The location is not very close to the center (30’ by foot to bus stand) but you can walk to the cave tempel from you doorstep.

We ordered lunch and dinner and unfortunately did not ask about the price (our fault). We were surprised by the relatively right prices of the meals (compared to what we experienced in the previous 2 months in Sri Lanka). Nevertheless the meals were very tasty and we were glad to be able to eat “at home”!

The place was very beautiful. Its really good place to stay to visit atractions around. The family was wonderful, helpful and very nice. And also they have this amazing neighbour tuktuk driver which can take you to amazing places with great prices and got a lot of tips for you. We really recommend this place. ❤️

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable :) very good location (next to sightseeing area). The personnel were very nice!

They don’t speak English well, but it is possible to communicate with help of non-verbal communication.

The location is quiet but close enough to the centre (within walking distance from supermarket). The room and bathroom were big and clean. It also has a balcony outside the room which was great for sitting early morning or in the evening! The lake is lovely and the property has a viewing deck where you can sit and relax. The hosts were lovely and made traditional Sri Lankan breakfast for us! They also offered laundry services which was extremely helpful!

The fan wasn’t working initially and the optional air-con was $7 extra. Wifi worked on and off throughout our stay.

The view by the lake was nice and the staff was friendly and kind. The local breakfast was a nice touch by the host.

It was not as described. I was requested to pay extra for AC service but on the booking description says it comes with AC.I think probably the staff did not understand English well to write the accurate description. Room also was not very clean and had no hot water. Had a lot of mosquitoes.

This is a calm place with view of a beautiful lake. The host was lovely and always smiling. Rooms are clean and neat. Breakfast was very yummy. Super close to some lakes, rice fields and very local village life, as well as to Dambulla cave in walking distance. Room rates are low and you get any help and information you need. They have their own tuktuk and Bandara brings you anywhere you want to go and takes really care for you, anytime you have a wish or a question. He also picked me up, when I arrived in Dumballa. Great service, very safe and secure. Thanks for all of your support.

without AC its really hot, at least in july. I upgraded to the bigger room with sofa and one extra bed, because in the other room not much daylight is coming in, a little bit dark. This room was great, with view of the lake.

The owners were so nice and helpful and tried to give us a great time! The breakfast was just perfectly yummy and she cooked everyday something else typical sri lankan. The rooms were big and the beds comfy with mosquitonets. We had our own little lounge outside. The brother of the host was very nice and offered to be our driver the whole 3 days we were there so he showed us a lot and organised really cool stuff!

The shower was kind of the whole bathroom so when somebody showered, the whole floor was wet. The windows were dark so we had no sunlight and we had many many ants in the rooms

Loved the location on the lake and all the different areas to sit especially the wooden raised platform looking out over the lake. The hosts were very kind even if we struggled to understand each other. Loved the terrace outside the room and the home cooking

Reflective materials on windows meant that it shut out the light when not open, and many birds tried to attack their image but did enjoy that it gave us a really close up look at them. The hornbills felt like they were in danger of breaking the windows!

The lady host is very kind and smilling. The location is beautifull just in front of the lake and the garden is pretty. The dinner and the breakfast was very delicious. Bandara messaged me and provided a free pick up from the bus station. Later we asked him for a Sigirian tour, and he provided the most detailed and beautifull tour to us. He knows a lot about the location and took us to special spots for photos. But above of all he is very responsible and makes you feel secure. We missed the right exit and were lost in the forest. But he found us very quickly in the dark. He was the perfect guide and friend we ever met in Sri Lanka.

The property is set on a beautiful lake, with a lovely terrace to sit on. There’s also a nice seating area outside the room. The people were very accommodating and breakfast was lovely! There is a driver, Emsantha, available who is absolutely brilliant. He made sure we did everything we wanted to and was an Awesome guide, cannot recommend him enough.
