La habitación no olía bien por las tuberías y la alcachofa de la ducha perdía agua por todos lados, solo el accesorio de cascada funcionaba. Es verdad que no esperábamos pájaros cantando, pero literalmente tenias la fiesta a tus pies 😅. La insonorización era buena, pero si te cuesta dormir, no es tu sitio.

There’s a bar on the street directly below the room that gets very crowded until around 2 AM, so it was way too noisy, and we couldn’t open the window if we wanted to sleep.

Reviewed Sep 13, 2026We really enjoyed our stay at Bairro Alto Guesthouse! The location was definitely the highlight for us. We didn’t have a car in Lisbon, and we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go, with plenty of restaurants, cafés, bars and attractions nearby. The room was clean, comfortable and perfect for our stay. We also really appreciated having lockers available to store our luggage, which was extremely convenient and allowed us to continue exploring the city without carrying our bags around. Being right in the heart of Lisbon made everything so easy and convenient. We would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you’re visiting without a car!
The only thing we would have appreciated was a small fridge in the room to keep drinks and water cold, especially for the next day.

Direkt an der Straße und über ne Bar also ziemlich laut. Generell schon runtergekommen das Zimmer, sehr viele Schmierer an den Wänden, Tapete löst sich langsam ab und die Klimaanlage war sehr dreckig und tropfte. Also da muss definitiv was getan werden.

Unfortunately the bathroom and area near aircon were covered in mildew/mould. The shower was also quite grimy.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026Posizione davvero ottima e strategica per spostarsi comodamente in tutta Lisbona, comoda anche per raggiungere a piedi i locali e la vita notturna. Abbiamo apprezzato molto la pulizia della camera.
Unico piccolo dettaglio da migliorare: degli infissi leggermente più isolanti dal punto di vista acustico aiuterebbero a garantire un riposo ancora più tranquillo.

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Posizione molto centrale e comoda per raggiungere baixa chiado e alfama. Camera piuttosto ampia e comodo il Locker interno alla struttura per lasciare le valigie anche dopo il check out. Molto bella la vista sulla città che si gode dalla finestra.
Essendo in una zona molto centrale, ricca anche di attività e movida, la strada è molto rumorosa e l'insonorizzazione non è delle migliori. Alcuni elementi della camera sono un po' logori, avrebbero bisogno di un rinnovamento. Si potrebbe prevedere qualche spazio in più per gli abiti.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Splendida posizione. È vero che per arrivare c'è una bella salita da fare ma la zona è servita anche dagli autobus. La struttura si trova nel Bairro Alto, vicino ad uno splendido terrazzo panoramico. Stanza spaziosa, bagno pure. La stanza è stata riordinata ogni giorno. Zona strategica per visitare la città Sotto la guesthouse c'è una pasticceria per fare colazione.
La stanza non è particolarmente insonorizzata ma per noi non è stato un grosso problema perché la stanza affacciava su una via interna.

Impossibile tenere il condizionatore acceso perché ci si congelava e puntava direttamente sul letto, oltre che essere rumoroso. Quindi stanza umida e senza areazione adeguata

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026It was sentral and the bed was comfortable. Although it’s a party area, the rooms were not noisy at all. We had a problem with AC and they came to our room immediately to try to fix it.
The shower was not that clean and shower head tube was leaking in the middle. The AC was broken so the room was pretty warm during the night, which influenced the quality of night sleep.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Die Lage ist top! Direkt vor der Tür ist ein wunderschöner Aussichtspunkt mit tollem Blick über die Stadt. Für ein paar Nächte im Bairro Alto, ist das eine sehr gute Unterkunft. Sobald man vor die Tür geht, hört man Musik, es gibt viele schöne Cafes, Restaurants mit toller Aussicht und viele Junge Leute. Wir kamen ein paar Stunden vor dem Check-In an, konnten unsere Koffer aber einschließen, um nicht mehrere Stunden mit dem Koffer durch die Stadt zu müssen. Die Zimmer waren sauber und von der Größe ausreichend für 2 Personen.
Leider gab es keinen Schreibtisch im Zimmer und der Kleiderschrank hatte nur 3 Kleiderbügel und war winzig! Zusätzlich war kein Safe im Zimmer und für 2 Große Koffer kaum Platz zum öffnen.

Reviewed Jul 9, 2026The room was clean and was serviced daily. I was confused about the access to the building on check-in, but called the owners on WhatApp - he answered and helped me right away. I liked the accessibility to coffee and restaurants from the guesthouse.
The building is directly across the street from a major miradouro. I stayed there during a party week in June and there was very loud music and a ton of partying until 2-3am. Ear plugs are no match for Lisbon parties :-) I would imagine it is quieter during different times of the year, but still in a rowdy location, so likely not the quietest location.

Nie działająca klimatyzacja, w której prawdopodobie był tylko zapchany filtr. Niestety nikt nie zareagował na moją prośbę o wyczyszczenie. Samemu nie sposób było dosięgnàć. Spanie przy otwartym oknie wychodzące ns ruchliwą ulicę (z tramwajami) przy +27°C w nocy, lub z zamkniętym (dobrze tłumi hałas) niedziałającą klimatyzacją mało przyjemne. Szkoda bo wtedy opinia była by dużo wyższa

Reviewed Jun 22, 2026Het guesthouse ligt tegenover een mirador, uitkijkpunt, waar het zeker 's avonds gezellig en levendig is. Dichtbij zitten leuke tentjes om te lunchen, binnen 15 minuten wandelen ben je op het grote plein (hartje centrum). Het appartement was schoon, fris, openslaande deuren voor een optimale 'stad-beleving'. En er zijn kluizen voor je bagage.
De wc en douche bevinden zich in één ruimte en die is erg klein. De centrale hal van het gebouw stinkt. Het is niet goedkoop.

La zona è un pò rumorosa di notte. A noi non ha dato per niente fastidio però per qualcuno potrebbe essere un motivo per scegliere un'altra zona.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026Love the location and the “full immersion” in the Santo António feast and arraial/party. The ease of getting pretty much anywhere from there was a super plus, too.
The shower door didn’t close completely at the bottom, meaning that inevitably some water would escape onto the towel placed on the floor outside. And some condensation from the heat exchanger/air conditioning dripped into the room; not a lot but enough to notice.

Reviewed Apr 29, 2026L'alloggio, confortevole e pulito, si trova in una posizione centralissima che permette di visitare diverse attrazioni di Lisbona senza usare i mezzi pubblici. E' inoltre vicina alla stazione di Rossio dove si può prendere il treno per Sintra. Bairro Alto è un quartiere frizzante e vivo. Abbiamo trovato i festaggiamenti per il 25 aprile proprio sotto casa ;)
Ci è dispiaciuto non poterci interfacciare direttamente con una persona del posto, ma i messaggi dell'host sono stati precisi ed esaustivi

Innanzitutto la ottima posizione vicina alle principali attrazioni, la possibilità di usufruire di stipetti per lasciare i bagagli anche dopo il check-out dalla camera con un bagno in comune, molto pulito. Un'altra chicca è la pasticceria che si trova proprio sotto la Guesthouse che permette una colazione eccellente, non compresa nel prezzo ovviamente, ma si fa perdonare!
Le pecche a nostro avviso sono state due: cuscini non molto comodi e un appendiabiti con sole 4 cruccette.

Reviewed Apr 2, 2026A localização é perfeita, no coração de lisboa, principais pontos turísticos em uma pequena caminhada. A vista do quarto para o Castelo de São Jorge foi uma surpresa maravilhosa. O quarto foi limpo todos os dias e o acesso ao apartamento é extremamente fácil!
