The Old Vicarage

Beautiful accomodation, walking distance to town and next to a lovely river with historic walks alongside. The house is quaint, but clean, cosy and warm. Beautiful linen, log fire, so many books and magazines to enjoy and comfortable lounge in which to relax. Lovely easy breakfast with teas and coffee, cereals toast and a selection of spreads. Wonderful!

Minor improvement would be access to a clothes washer/dryer.

Exceptional accommodation. Like a one bedroom apartment with its own lounge, dining table, cosy fire to sit in front of plus an entrance foyer, covered verandah, small garden and your own carpark. Very thoughtful furnishing and supplies for your stay. Excellent breakfast selection as well.

The place was amazing, everything we needed there. The bed was very comfortable. We would certainly stay there again and highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Perfect accommodation - we liked everything! Beautifully presented with lovely furniture. Bed fabulous. Log fire threw out excellent heat. Bedding, towels, soap etc all quality items. Breakfast - cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, toast, jams etc perfect!

Great place to stay in Reefton. Quiet location off main road, by river. Warm, spacious and comfortable with added bonus of great shower, and breakfast. Easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shops. Would highly recommend.

The whole concept. As soon as we walked in we were impressed with the beautiful surroundings. It felt warm and inviting. We enjoyed looking at all the antiques. Delicious breakfast. Bowl of fresh as kiwifruit, fejoas and persimmons a tasty addition. Have already recommended to many friends. We'll be back.

Nice big rooms, we were very warm and comfortable. No problems with finding the place and easy to get in when arriving. Easy walk into town

From the moment we walked in the front door it was apparent that every little thing had been thought off. Hats, umbrellas, a wonderful array of breakfast goodies, beautiful linen, top quality towels, a huge collection of board games, books and wonderfully comfortable furniture.

There was absolutely nothing not to like.

Old fashioned everything but it was all clean. Never met Di the owner but that was fine.

Personally there were too many old books on the shelfs.

It's cost- like a home away from home.

Lovely apartment with large parlour with real fireplace, entry hall, large bedroom with ensuite tub/shower/toilet. Apartment had magnificent character features - high ceilings, wood floors, period solid wood furniture and more - but modern conveniences such as very comfortable king bed, plenty of hot water and shower pressure, radiators. Decor eclectic and interesting. Top notch amenities including artisan hand soap, butter, local history scrapbook, cold breakfast with fruit.

這是我們前往西海岸的中繼站，南島有很多掏金小鎮，我們最喜歡這個小鎮，不會太熱鬧也不荒涼，推薦到鎮上的遊客中心及街區走走，坐在戶外喝個咖啡及了解這邊的過往 這間住宿非常特別，每個小角落都看得到主人的用心，屋主用很多小紙條指引小細節，早餐有麵包、麥片、牛奶、奶油、香蕉等，很豐盛而且奶油非常厲害! 感謝主人提供Brita濾水器，讓我們喝水很安心，微波爐、烤麵包機、餐具也都保養得很好很乾淨~ 入住是用密碼盒取得鑰匙，很簡易；晚上記得關窗，不然小蟲會飛進來~ 是我們在南島18天最有特色、CP值最高的住宿

Thanks to the hosts for going to a lot of effort to make our stay an absolute pleasure. A lot of attention to detail and thoughtful provision of breakfast and facilities. Our best ever Homestay experience and a pleasure to use such a lovely, historic home. Helpful check in communication and arrived to a warmed up and cozy Villa. Thanks for the fascinating memorabilia. we should have stayed longer just to soak up all that info. We are referring this property to many other travelers.

The hosts had a gone the extra yard. Everything we needed was supplied. Breakfast of cereal, local honey and toast , tea or coffee, yoghurt and apples. Plenty of reading material about historical gold town, Reefton. There is a nice river walk and swing bridge to the old Powerstation and through town. Beds are comfortable with heater and log 🔥.fire.

We did a self check in so never met our hosts but I'm sure they are nice.❤️

It was a privilege to stay in this historic house. Everything we could possibly have needed was there, and it was clear that a lot of thought went into fitting it out and making it comfortable. There was even a very good continental breakfast provided, something that is often absent from so-called "B&Bs" these days.

Accommodation was in an old vicarage. The rooms are furnished in a style reminiscent of what an old old vicarage might be like. Wifi was good. Bed was comfortable. Felt like staying in someone's house. All clean throughout. Car parked on driveway.

We have now stayed here three or four times and it is consistently clean and comfortable. We particularly enjoy the books and magazines provided and the quiet surroundings.

This is a charming facility. Superbly comfortable bed, high quality linen & bedding, warm & cosy. Tastefully decorated & furnished rooms, interesting books, magazines and videos. The owner had carefully thought of guest’s needs. The stay was totally private, but owner was ready to help when needed.

Welch schöne Unterkunft in Reefton! Ein Haus mit besonderer Atmosphäre. Alles sehr gepflegt und mit Liebe eingerichtet, überall Kunst und Antiquitäten. Gutes Bett mit Heizdecke, kleine Terrasse vor der Tür. Wir haben das Haus von der ersten Sekunde an gemocht und uns sehr wohl darin gefühlt!

It was very intimate setting by the river with the home filled with curios of historical interest. It was also very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. A peaceful retreat.

The bed was worth the price of admission alone. In addition, the place was nice and quiet, there was a nice selection for continental breakfast, the lounge has loads of entertainment options (TV, DVD, books, magazines), and the bathroom has good shower pressure. Highly recommended!

Beautiful setting, clean, well provisioned, catered well for gluten free, which was much appreciated. Provision of hairstraightners was an unexpected bonus. Also liked that there were two suitcase stands provided- most place only provide one. Enjoyed the lovely verandah

Everything about our stay at The Old Vicarage was perfect. The booking was quick and easy, and Di was very helpful with messaging us some info about the town before our arrival. The location, just across the river with a view of the town, couldn't be better. The fireplace was stacked up, the rooms were warm and pure comfort, coffee/tea and a range of breakfasts items were set up for the next morning. It made us feel welcome from the very first minute. And our dog was welcome too. The character, charm and uniqueness of the old vicarage makes it a wonderful place to stay while exploring Reefton's rich history! Highly recommended!

The space was very relaxing with a romantic fireplace which was warming the room upon our arrival. A very welcoming atmosphere. Complimentary breakfast was superior. We wish we could've stayed for a week. Reefton township is very heritage and interesting. This place was a real gem.

The location was great, not in town, but a short walk across the bridge to the main street. There was a pleasant view of the river through large windows. We liked the old world charm, with antique furnishings, and the large collection of books, especially the ones about local history. The current hosts seem to have thought of everything guests may need and there was plenty to choose from for breakfast. Instructions about heating, the appliances, the lock box etc were very clear. The rooms were well heated and warm on arrival.

The Old Vicarage was a beautiful villa that was very comfortable and located within a short walk to the town. Di was an excellent friendly host who corresponded quickly and also provided a wide range of food and drinks for our stay. The house had a easy to light wood burner and boosted water wall radiators and as a result was very warm. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a large bath and good powerful shower. We especially enjoyed the numerous photos, paintings, and ornaments throughout the house and also the TV with access to several main streaming services websites and also to a number of DVDs. We highly recommend this house.
