The location. The cleanliness.

The room was a bit cramped. Quite a bit of noise from the room above and people passing in hallway and up the stairs due to timber structure. We were woken in the middle of the night by someone arriving or leaving and tramping up the stairs with their luggage. However, this is probably the case in all the local holiday lets.

Everything!!! Super beautiful room, most comfortable bed & pillows!! Their continental breakfast was perfect, delivered to your door! Super clean & quiet!! Was our best place to date! Highly recommend. No regrets

Very cute, restored home! Nicely stocked with everything we needed. Bedroom was a nice size and as we had the entire home to ourselves, we had two bathrooms! A nice breakfast was brought in the next morning, and they were very kind to accommodate my lactose intolerance. The house is close enough to walk to the main shopping street.

This was an excellent location. Walkable to restaurants. Clean and bright and breakfast every morning. Close to the areas and things that we wanted to see.

My husband is 6’4” tall and the bed was small for us. Room was very small but lovely. No air conditioning and it did get very warm. They did provide a fan but still warm. I do think that this was unusually warm weather for the area.

Continental breakfast was awesome - easy to take with if leaving first thing in the morning. It was private and unique and great that we had our own space.

People sleeping downstairs could hear every step people were making upstairs - very creeky. No table available to play cards or eat together - hard to do on a coffee table (4 adults) and the coffee table was upstairs (one adult had limited mobility). More counter space needed in the bathroom.

The only negative was that the bed had a very loud creak - which didn’t worry me, but I was concerned that it would be annoying for the people in the next room if I moved around at night!

The Inn is a beautiful representation of the past, and this room, located behind the main house is exceptional. The room is very spacious, and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, with high quality bed linen. The bathroom had a large walk-in shower, and we were provided with locally sourced bath products. In the morning, breakfast was delivered to our room. It was simple but more than enough to begin our day.

I would only comment that each of the three windows in the room (which were quite large) had blackout curtains on them, and as there are other properties in close proximity, in order to get the needed privacy (especially in the bathroom) it is necessary to close the curtains. This is not a complaint, merely an observation. Not sure how else that could be addressed.

Decorated beautifully. Very nice size / roomy. Comfortable bed with nice pillows. Nice hot shower and the shampoo, conditioner and soap smelled wonderful. Modern bathroom. Quiet area. Very close to 'downtown'.

Suggestions are: The bathroom doesn't have a very large area around sink to put makeup on so would be nice to have another mirror in main bedroom area (to put on makeup) and maybe another long narrow table when opening front door to put additional things on to. Minor issues that were not a big deal. Iron didn't work at all, it powered but didn't heat up. But we quickly got a new one brought from main house. The Lawrence room key got stuck in lock and couldn't get it out. Manager had to come out and fiddle with it and add WD40.

Friendly staff. Huge spacious room. Great location. Comfortable bed and sheets. Loved the Bonavista soaps. Breakfast was good.

I wish coffee could have been delivered earlier. I have not used a French press before and would have liked a choice for coffee in the room.

Lovely restored heritage property

Good on breakfast and location.

Water leak from ceiling in the middle of the night from heavy rain. Had to move our bed away from drip line and went to search for container to catch the leak. Kept us up half the night to avoid water pooling on the floor or sipping downstairs. This is our second time submitting this message at Booking.com and we also mentioned about the incident to the lady present when we checked out. So far, haven't heard a pip from the property.

We stayed for one night at The Russelltown Inn in Bonavista, Newfoundland, and had a wonderful experience. The fully restored cottages are charming, cozy, and full of character. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and we especially loved the high-quality East Coast bath products provided. A delicious breakfast is delivered right to your suite in the morning, which is a lovely touch and makes the stay even more enjoyable. The location is perfect—within easy walking distance of downtown Bonavista and its attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. A great place to stay if you’re visiting Bonavista!

Charming old home with a history that we could easily learn about during our stay. The lady who checked us in was very helpful with information and advice about the town and even surrounding area. She gave us great suggestions for seeing lesser known sites around Bonavista.

The breakfast was great, it got the morning off to a great start. The presentation was lovely.

This loft suite was beautiful. The shower is nice and big, and the toiletries are locally made. The bed is comfortable, and the continental breakfast delivered to the door is such an added feature. We enjoyed our stay for sure.

The only thing we could see that would be helpful is motion sensor light in the stairway when you return in the dark.

The apartment is set in a separate, two-storey bungalow. Our was on the first floor, very spacious and very clean. The parking space was also big.

The Russelltown Inn was an elegant, comfortable, clean historic inn. What made this accommodation extra special were the special touches - highly quality, locally made toiletries; a kettle, French press & freshly ground, locally roasted coffee; and the boxed continental breakfast just outside our door first thing in the morning.

Signage leading to and on the Russelltown Inn. Newfoundland towns/villages tend to meander over the landscape and finding the Inn proved to be a little challenging after a long day of driving.

The location, staff and accommodations were all wonderful. Also nice to have a continental breakfast included.

We arrived at the hotel earlier than expected, and the host kindly allowed us to check in early. The room was spotless, and we really liked the scent of the hand soap and lotion — a lovely herbal fragrance. The bed was very clean and comfortable, and the small sitting area was also tidy and cozy. We especially appreciated the breakfast setup — it didn’t disturb our sleep and offered great privacy. The location is excellent — most attractions are within walking distance.

We were assigned the Transmith room, which unfortunately had very poor sound insulation. Footsteps from the upstairs unit were loud and clear, and we could even hear conversations word for word. Luckily, the guests upstairs went to bed early and checked out early in the morning — otherwise, it could have been a serious issue.

We had a fabulous stay, thank you to the amazing friendly staff! We didn't realize there was a continental breakfast provided when we booked, that was a lovely surprise. The room was very clean and check in/out was easy.

I would just warn anyone who is a light sleeper that the Lawrence suite is underneath an adjacent loft suite, and the noise of people walking overheard is very loud. Not the a fault of the property, just something to be aware of!

Location was great - walking distance to restaurants, waterfront, shops, etc... Easy & friendly check-in. Beautiful cottage, decor and comfortable bed. Breakfast items, coffee and tea provided were also wonderful. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Our only problem was with the folks who were staying in the suite above us. Unsure if they were aware that there were people staying below them, but they were up early (630am) stomping around, speaking loudly, passing our door multiple times with no consideration for their surroundings, until we got frustrated enough and came out to ask them to keep it down.

The bedding was very top notch! Very comfortable bed. The room was quite well appointed.

The bathroom could have had more counter space but it’s to be expected in an old heritage house.

I loved the building itself. Russelltown Inn is a collection of historic houses in close proximity. I stayed in the yellow one, which dates back to the 19th century and has a lovely little entryway with original stained glass windows. I had a nice room on the ground floor. Nice from above when someone is walking around up there, but not too bad. They drop off a breakfast box at your door in the morning. Pretty basic, but a nice way to start the day. Bonavista is a wonderful place to visit, and Russelltown Inn makes a really nice base.

The location and history of the building was very nice. The restoration work is done very good.

The building was a two unit building and I was in the downstairs room. EXTREMELY noisy with the guests upstairs, zero sound proofing between floors. Fortunately the second night the unit was vacant and there was zero noise. Then there was peace and quiet.

Breakfast was delivered each morning. It was fine. We had to leave early so a bagged breakfast was prepared. Good location.

We stayed there two nights. The first night was in a queen suite in an cute old quaint cottage. It was comfortable and very clean. The second night was in a beautiful loft king suite which was very spacious and newly renovated. Very comfortable bed. We had breakfast delivered in a box to the room which included a warm boiled egg, a muffin, a yogurt and a banana along with ample coffee.

The armchairs in the loft could have been more comfortable. It would have been useful to have a sink in the kitchenette area. It would be useful to have more than one suitcase rack in the room.

It was large, clean and bright and in a convenient location to see all the sights in the area. The included breakfast was a nice surprise - they bring it to your door at 8:00am in a picnic basket (hard boiled egg, muffin, cheese, yogurt, apple and coffee). Super clean. Loved it!

You can hear the neighbours below you if they are noisy.

Stunning suite. Beautifully decorated and appointed. Lovely breakfasts delivered to our loft each morning. Premium facilities and finishes throughout. One of the nicest stays we've experienced in recent memory.

I was a bit concerned about disturbing the couple staying in the suite below us when walking on the floor in the night time. But this is a renovated older structure so some creaks and squeaks are unavoidable.

Breakfast was delightful. Everything about our stay was lovely. Unfortunately, with the weather being unusually hot, the rooms were uncomfortable. Staff brought over an extra fan to move some air around.

The owners have thought of everything. A French press, complimentary Bonavista coffee to get you started, 18% cram and 2% milk in the fridge, beautiful rosemary and mint body and hair products, lots of drawers and cupboards for a tidy looking room for our longer stay, sheets and pillows superb, ability to open windows to take in the sea air, and an adorable breakfast box every morning at 8:00. Can’t say enough, staff live close-by so available and willing to help, would move in if we could!

For tea folks, a tea pot would be nice. A very minor detail, but perhaps a thought for the future.

Location, fresh and bright...super clean. King bed super comfortable with beautiful bedding. Best nights rest. Morning breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend for exploring Bonavista...close to great restaurants, shops and harbour. Laurie the host, helpful with recommendations for great meals.

Loved the location. The breakfast was excellent!! Staff was excellent. We would have rated the facilities a 10 except for the poor noise insulation between floors.

We stayed in Gosling House on the first floor. We could hear the conversations and footsteps of the people on the top floor. Sound proofing between floors would have made our stay perfect. We used CC on the TV so the upstairs renters were not bothered but would have preferred not to do that.
