We lived our way at Beach Hut! Such a chill vibe, so relaxing and nice. We stayed in a room with AC and it helped to beat the extreme Arugam Bay heat. Karthi, the manager was so sweet and helpful, always welcoming us with a smile and ready to help with transportation and anything we needed. The food was great and on the cheap side in comparison to Arugam restaurants, which was also a huge plus. If we ever come back to Arugam Bay we would stay at Beach Hut!

Haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Toller Garten und tolle Anlage. Die Anlage liegt etwas am Ortsrand, wodurch unser Strandabschnitt herrlich ruhig war. In wenigen Minuten zu Fuß ist man voll im Geschehen und hat die Qual der Wahl zwischen wirklich guten Restaurants & Bars. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Die Nähe zum Strand ist unschlagbar! Das Personal war überaus nett, hilfsbereit und sehr entgegenkommend. In meinem Hut hatte einen wirklich guten Luftdurchzug, das Bett war okay und ein Moskitonetz war ebenfalls vorhanden. Der Innenhof ist liebevoll und grün gestaltet, ausreichend Sitzgelegenheiten sind vorhanden. Die Nähe zur Mainroad war ebenfalls perfekt für mich und innerhalb von 2 Gehminuten erreichbar. Der Straßenverkehr war aufgrund der Lage nicht zu hören. Preis-Leistung vollkommen ok und empfehlenswert.

Ich hatte insgesamt eine gute Zeit, auch wenn es abends/ nachts hin und wieder etwas laut war. Schade war, dass der Mülleimer vor meiner Hütte nicht geleert wurde und dadurch Tiere den Müll verteilt haben.

Das Personal war Mega freundlich! Die Lage war top und die Zimmer/Hütten waren sauber und komfortabel.

The staff and the restaurant were amazing. The family room was spacious and light filled. Also the huts by the beach are more modest with no aircon but felt nice.

The location was very good: 1 min walking from the beach, close to the center by walk and Tuktuk but not in the messy noisy area.

This structure has potential but needs a big renovation and in particular more cleaning. The curtains where old and with cuts. The toilet was very old, stinky, a bit dirty, with ants and without even a hand wash gel. WiFi wasn’t always working

Un cadre incroyable étant donné comment est fait Arugambay. Rustique mais c’est ce à quoi on s’attend en réservant la bas. Des prix extrêmement raisonnables y compris sur les repas qui sont excellents et un personnel « trop mignon » et d’une discrétion incroyable.

Ho soggiornato con la mia famiglia per 4 notti. Avevamo una stanza familiare molto ampia, praticamente tra gli alberi, molto bella. Il posto e' immerso nel verde e molto curato. Si mangia bene , cucina semplice. Lo staff molto gentile e disponibile. Comodissimo per la spiaggia di arugam bay e dietro la via principale con i ristoranti. Molto consigliato!

Mi dispiace dare una valutazione non positiva ma credo che le recensioni del Beach Hut siano fuorvianti. Le case sull’albero, in particolare quelle vista mare, hanno sicuramente una posizione suggestiva, ma purtroppo le camere hanno troppe cose che non vanno. Scegliere una sistemazione spartana non vuol dire che debba essere fatiscente, mentre in questo caso devo segnalare una finestra rotta, il soffione della doccia rotto e un livello di pulizia quasi inesistente. Basterebbe un po’ di cura in più per rendere il Beach Hut effettivamente in linea con le recensioni che gli vengono date. Per il resto personale gentile e disponibile e prezzi effettivamente molto bassi.

Un havre de paix au milieu du rush arugambay Des chambres sur 2 spots differents (bord plage ou vraiment pied en eau) Des cabanes faites avec gout et super cool passe 6 jours dans un autre temps au rythme des vagues et du soleil (breakfast et dinner dispo au lodge) Personnel super sympa !!!

Un peu bruyant car c est des cabane en bois donc bruit exterieur mais le spot est incomparable

L'hôtel est très bien situé, il y a quelques cabanes sur la plage et le bâtiment principal se situe à quelques dizaines de mètres de la plage. Les cabanes sont vielles sans confort mais le prix est intéressant. Le petit déjeuner est très bon et pas cher. Déçu car nous avions lu de très bons commentaires, je pense qu'il y a des grosses différences de confort entre les chambres.

Les draps n'étaient pas très propres et troués. Nous n'avons pas eu les chambres que nous avions réservées. Nous étions entassés à quatre dans une minuscule chambre.

Die Lage war einsame spitze . Direkt am Strand ,sodass man einfach vom Bett aus das Meer sehen Chören und schmecken kann . Das ganze Hotel ist einfach traumhaft chillig ,ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen . Der Man gegen ist immer zur Stelle und hilft wo er kann. Das ganze Personal ist super nett Des wird immer gesäubert und aufgeräumt .

Wer im Baumhaus sich einmietet ,solltt wissen das Tiere einen Nachts besuchen kommen können ,da die Ritzen doch schon arg groß und breit sind ....Für mich kein Problem ,aber wer angst vor Mäusen ,schaben oder anderes Metier hat ...,also bitte erst scuen und dann buchen .

RIGHT on the Beach! Huge Window fronts to open with max. 20m to the waves (Beach huts). Nerver had a accommodation with sleeping that close to the waves. Wonderful!!! Very simple and basic , but clean; no AC but no need for it, as there a 2 window fronts to open fully and a fan. Even slept with a blanked in the morning (July). Staff very friendly and helpful. 120% Value for money!

Cabane au bord de la mer vétusté mais l'emplacement est une merveille, bon rapport qualité prix. Les repas sont très bon, l'équipe est agréable et très disponible.

Great location on the quiet side of the beach. Only a 5-10 minute walk away from the busier side of town but this makes the difference at night. The staff are very helpful and kind. This is my 2nd time staying and the tree huts are very comfortable and a great base in Arugam Bay.

The location is perfect and we had a big family room. Its got a really lovely vibe, the food is good and very cheap. It all very basic but that is what you are paying for. I would recommend this hotel

La situation est extraordinaire ! Et le petit déjeuner succulent. Le Beach Hut est vraiment un logement atypique et très sympathique.

Nous avions pris 3 chambres dont une avec vue mer . Au final, nous nous sommes retrouvés avec un dortoir de 7 , sans climatisation (elle était en supplément :5000LKR par nuit!). Malgré notre demande pour au moins l'avoir moitié prix (car nous n'avions pas les chambres demandées), ils n'ont rien changé.

The bathroom had a bit of a funky smell and the beds wheren't all to good. We had the family room, which is on the top floor and has a fantastic view but no airconditioning (3 fans) .

Une clim dans la chambre mais nous devions payer 5000lkr pour avoir la télécommande car pas inclu avec booking. Très chaud la nuit et réveil avec lumière++,rideaux non occultant. Propreté laisse a désirer dans la salle de bain et odeur de remonté d'égouts 2fois. Pas de savon.

De eerste nacht hadden we een kamer in de accomodatie, die was echt minder goed. De volgende dag verhuisden we naar de beachhut op het starnd. De locatie is dan meer dan geweldig. Het is een hut, dus wees niet verrast dat je wat ongedierte tegenkomt. De locatie maakt alles goed.

Very good location, near to the beach. We stayed in the family room up in the 2nd floor of a building, not in the treehouses. It had an own bathroom and air conditioning and plenty of beds. The staff was also great, very nice and helpful guys.

I really liked the staff. They were kind and always smiling. The location is right in front of the sea. I'd love to visit that place again.

The hut was located directly at the beach front, which is the huts main plus. Staff is friendly and helpful, good food at the restaurant.

The shower was a little run down and the mattresses were not very comfortable. Even though staff is eager to keep the property clean, there are dogs urinating and defecating in the yard around the hut.

We had a great time at the Beach Hut. The owner and the staffs are very friendly. Always ready to accompany all our needs. Delicious traditional food. Nice beach. Clean rooms and beautiful garden. Highly recommend it.

This was the best accommodation I have stayed in in Sri Lanka. The treehouses are lovely and the whole place is beautifully decorated. You can tell the owner and everyone working there put a lot of effort into creating a true oasis.

Amazing place! A true backpacker dream. Great food and fruit juices for a good price. Very kind people. One could spend here weeks. We got a great recommendation on a guy who took us to the Kumana NP. Great safari for a very fair price!

The shower water had salt in it so always felt sticky after a shower.

Nice treehouse with balcony. Very delicious food for a good price. The chill-area was also very comfortable.

The matress cover could be cleaner. There were many ants, but I guess you have to expect this when booking an open treehouse. There were also no blankets, but it was so hot that it was ok to sleep without.

The shady garden, almost jungle style. Everything is wood. The tree huts are very nice and peaceful

It's pretty dark everywhere due to the amount of trees. And a lot of spiderwebs, plus little uninvited guests, were in our room. It wasn't the cleanest place.

This was the best stay in my entire life. Superb aren in Arugambe. Even I can stay for a Month time. The stunning view even in your bed just keep your head up you can see the heaven. Food also okay reasonable prices, room conditions also okay. Highly recommend to all of you ❤️

If you can please try to keep some water bottles and tea coffee maker. That would be amazing for the all guests. Its only for suggestions.

The staff was very unfriendly and we did laundry here and they just gave us the ‘washed’ clothes in a bucket. The clothes were not clean at all and even had new stains in them which we did not get out. When we told them about it they did not do anything to solve it.

Really good value for money. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location was perfect- it's at the end of the beach so a lot more private and chill but also only like a 10 min walk from the anything.

i went there with the overnight bus from colombo and arrived way too early around 3am in the night. even though i didn’t have a reservation for the night they still welcomed me in the middle of the night. the next day i got very sick and once i told them they kept checking on me to make sure im okay and that really made me feel so welcome! everyone there is super kind and lovely. also the food is a 10/10. best food i’ve had in a accommodation!! bonus point: they have a cute dog :)

The family room was large and clean.The service was good.We loved garden,and the food was delicios.It's very close to the beach and also to the main street.

Kind staff, clean facilities, quirky rooms, good value, food options on site. Also check out their Lighthouse Beach Hut up north, for an even more chill time.

Great place with lovely staff. Beachside cabanas are simple but provide a dreamy getaway spot. Special meals each night are also great. This place is an Arugam Bay establishment, the oldest in the town. Wifi didn’t work but can’t complain otherwise.

We had a room directly by the beach and it was so amazing. If you wake up you have the view from the bed to the beach and the ocean. Everything else wad also perfect, the staff was great and friendly, it was clean, you have your own beach area with hammocks

Two for me not really bad things: - in the dark can look the people from the beach in the room. The windows are not completely transparent, but they can see you. And there is a space between the roof and the walls, be careful that you have no food in your room open because otherwise the raves comes in your room and eat it …

Great hosts and super delicious food. And the beach is just arround the corner. For this price this is a perfect stay in Arugam Bay. Totally recommend this place.

Good location, close to the beach, close to shops and main road, can use the ropes to dry the clothes,room with private toilet.

More attention to cleaning, there was bags with teeth cover from the previous visitors on the shelf. It was impossible to use the fan because the paint from it is melting or it starts removing itself and when turned on is spreading it all over the bed. The idea of more natural somehow is good but there were rats in the toilet running away. The owner should improve it.

It was right on the beach

I booked a treehouse and they gave it away to another couple while we were waiting for it to be ready as the couple were staying for 2 nights instead of 1. Really poor business practice. Food was mediocre and service was slow.

Friendly staff, great decor and jungle vibe, tasty food, comfy bed and well appointed room with hanger and desk and lots of natural light.

The bathroom sink and floor plug hole were quite dirty and there was a smell of drains everytime I put the shower on. The pillows also smelled damp. A little more attention to detail is needed in the cleaning department.

I only stayed for one night, but it was the best stay in my 7 weeks traveling through Sri Lanka. The staff is really nice. They helped me get through the town and to get a bus on the day of my departure. I will definitely come here again.

Very good place, near the beach and you can hear ocean in night! Hot water, clean, pretty, good fan, 3 windows and it is yet the most chip room we talked here!

There are a variety of accommodations at beach hut but all our creatively done, whimsical, and beautiful. I was in the simplest hut and it was exactly what I wanted... sleeping with the sound of the waves in a leafy garden. The location is the best possible and the staff were wonderful. I was there in low season so was almost alone but I'm sure the buzz is great there when it's full.

Arugam Bay is a lot more developed than I thought it would be. I thought it was remote… But it's actually quite easily accessible from Colombo and has quite a developed tourist and surfer scene. Beach hut, though, is right on the edge of everything and close to Pottuvil, which is a really lovely town.
