Reviewed May 28, 2026We stayed at Dolphin Sunrise during an impromptu babymoon and we were so happy with all aspects of our stay. The room itself was spacious and lovely. We had the most beautiful view overlooking the ocean - we intentionally kept our curtains open so we woke up with a spectacular sunrise every morning. We enjoyed our free coffee downstairs in the mornings before making our way out for the day. We found the location very central - we were just 2 minutes from a grocery store and no more than 15 minutes from anything we wanted to do in town or in other nearby places e.g. St. Francis Bay. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a lovely stay for a couple in Jeffrey's Bay.

Reviewed May 1, 2026Dolphin Sunrise war für uns ohne Dolphins und ohne Sunrise, weil die Sonne einfach nicht da war und die die Delphine ebenso wenig. Dennoch war es eine der schönsten Unterkünfte auf unserer 3-wöchigen Südafrika-Reise. Das gesamte Haus ist einfach nur wunderschön, die Zimmer mit vollverglaster Aussicht auf das Meer, so dass einem das Herz stehen bleibt, wenn man da rein kommt... und dann eine Selfcatering-Idee, die uns eine Küche und eine Terrasse zur Verfügung gestellt hat in einer Weise, die mehr als außergewöhnlich ist... wir haben es sehr geliebt...

Reviewed Feb 12, 2026Die Unterkunft ist wirklich wunderschön. Wir hatten einen rundum tollen Blick auf den Strand und das Meer. Das Zimmer war groß und geräumig. Der untere Bereich mit Küche und Aufenthaltsraum war sehr ansprechend und gemütlich. Auch die Terrasse zum Essen und Relaxen war prima. Und Florence ist eine sehr freundliche Host.

The aesthetic and style of the property is stunning, and the facilities (both in room and communal) are brilliant. Quiet, relaxing, with dolphins swimming by regularly. You won’t be disappointed - this is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in.

The cottage might be renovated, for example new floors and the kids beds as well in the tunnels.

Alles in die Jahre gekommen, renovierungsbedürftig. Man hat sich nicht wohl gefühlt, Man traut sich nicht etwas anzufassen. 2.Kühlschrank nicht in Betrieb, ok - aber übler Geruch beim Öffnen. Stockflecken über der Dusche. Mini Waschbecken im Bad in der Ecke mit schlechtem Licht. etc...

Reviewed Jul 21, 2025We came to JBay to watch the Surf Comp - and I don’t think you can get a better location than Dolphin Sunrise! Right on the Super tubes - you can watch from the Guesthouse! Beautiful Sunrise - the property stays sunny all day long - it even gets the afternoon sun due to its positioning. We stayed in the Cottage which was spacious yet cozy! The kids loved sleeping in the concrete built & decorated Super-Tube Beds! This was just the best place for us and we will definitely book again next time we’re in JBay!

The communal deck was beautifully furnished and views were absolutely stunning. Direct access to beach is great. The dolphins were swiming past in the bay. The kids loved staying in the porthole beds.
The annex ( not main house a bit more dated) but for the cost still good value, we needed a late check in due to flying in late and this cost extra but not alot of money.

The bed was huge and comfortable. We were only there for one night so didn’t make the use of the shared areas but they were large, modern and clean. Tanya was helpful with allowing us to check into our room early!

The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is fresh and tasty. A perfect spot for a relaxing getaway in Jeffreys Bay, especially for nature lovers and surfers. We even had to stay a second night bcs we loved it so much! Highly recommended!
We were not allowed to stay in the common room (which was empty, with no other guests) for just two hours after checking out.

Reviewed Nov 8, 2024Our accommodation was very spacious as we rented the bungalow. It is a very cosy house with great kitchen facilities and a splendid view, For our one day stop perfectly.
The rug is very worn out and especially the couch didn‘t invite me to sit down. To me it looked very used and dirty. Since the weather was good we didn’t use it at all and enjoyed the nice terrace. It was difficult to get hold of the staff, which could only be reached by cell phone. A bell at the main terrace would be helpful.
