Everything about this stay was great. The room was immaculate. The kitchen in the room had more than enough cutlery, utensils and all the necessary appliances. We had warm showers and an exceptional breakfast. The staff were so unbelievably supportive. We ran late because of a minor accident, and the manager was waiting for us. The next day, the owner helped us get our daughter to the doctor and then to the hospital after an injury. For sure, this is one of our favourite places.

Maureen and Candi were so welcoming plus the location is fantastic! We love the breakfast and the attention to every detail in the room, perfection!

The Lodge is a real gem. The houses are beautifully kept and designed, the whole area is prepared with a lot of love and thought. Breakfast was plenty and sooo good. And the best: the staff was so incredibly nice and helpful and made us feel so welcome. We truly loved it. The area also has a lot to offer, we walked to and along the beach and took out the canoe to go up River Touw. We foolishly only booked one night, so we are definitely going back!

Prachtige locatie met geweldig appartement. Mooi ingericht , comfortabel en van alle gemakken voorzien. Vlakbij restaurants en supermarkt. Zeer behulpzaam personeel en heerlijk ontbijt!

It is beautifully decorated! I can’t imagine how long it must have taken the owner to collect all the special pieces that make up this hotel. So unique!

The parking situation is quite tricky. There is parking bays on the property but it gets quite congested especially if you have an SUV

Een heerlijk verblijf en voor ons een mooie stop op de Gardenroute. We hebben gekanood en gewandeld. Op loopafstand leuke restaurantjes. Super vriendelijke mensen.

Amazing location on the river Touw and 5min walk to the beach. The staff are super friendly and have good recommendations for dinner. They also provide kayaks and you can kayak 4km upstream into the forest. From there you can hike 2.5km to a waterfall. Wonderful breakfast too and lots of beautiful art and sculptures around.

Very quiet and beautiful location. It was easy to walk into the little town, too. The room was spacious and comfortable. I loved having the fabulous breakfast outside overlooking the river. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.

Good location, fairly priced, great staff, brilliant breakfast. Can’t fault the place. It’s really good for what it is. If it’s given less than 4 stars people have misunderstood what it is trying to be or had a different experience to me.

Sehr gepflegte Unterkunft - mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet! Wir haben uns direkt bei der Ankunft sofort wohl gefühlt und wurden herzlich empfangen! Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, der Service und das Frühstück war toll und unser Zimmer einfach nur ein Traum! Absolut zu empfehlen!

Extremely nice hotel complex with great attention to detail and very attentive and helpful staff - one feels very welcome from the beginning. If you have time and the weather allows for it, take a canoe and paddle along the river.

Prachtige ligging, zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij personeel. Geen moeite teveel.. heerlijk, uitgebreid ontbijt!

Fantastische locatie, zeer gastvrij onthaal door Edmund, Candy, Maureen en de rest van het team. Heerlijk gebruik gemaakt van de gratis kano voor de allermooiste dagtrip van mijn reis in Zuid Afrika. Prachtige kamer (treetops) met een weergaloos uitzicht over de Touw Rivier.

Very very very very dirty rooms. Dusts, cobwebs and bugs everywhere: bugs in the bed, ants in the kitchen, dusts and cobwebs all over the rooms. Was charged extra on check in when I had already paid all upfront (I will follow this up). When we arrived the windows and doors in the room were wide open which was not wise idea given we are next to the water. The bugs were disgusting - neither of us slept all night

Lovely and quiet, exceptional room and facilities, a warm welcome, a hearty breakfast, and a chaeming paddle up the river. We regret not staying for 2 or 3 nights.

Die Lage am Fluss war wirklich sehr schön. Die Kanufahrt mit den zur Verfügung gestellten Kanus war herrlich.

Ein wirklich kleiner Makel: wir konnten fie Aussenbeleuchtung nicht abstellen🤪.

Alles in allem ist perfekt. Man fühlt sich direkt willkommen.

Für uns eine sehr gute Lage, die Zimmer waren optisch schön eingerichtet, wir hatten das cottage und ein Doppelzimmer gebucht, es war alles vorhanden. Die Kanus konnten kostenlos mit genutzt werden und am Naturschutzgebiet die Vögel zu beobachten. Das Frühstück war außergewöhnliche abwechslungsreich, mit diversen Früchten.

I love Moontide so much I went back a second time! There's just something so peaceful and nourishing about the room, the lake and the people. The breakfast is lovingly prepared and served right on the lake. I wish I could share tis place with everyone I know. I will definitely be back.

Everything was amazing. Beautiful place to stay. Lovely room. Candi was great and so helpful with trips and suggestions for us. A really good choice for breakfast. The setting overlooking the lagoon was so peaceful. Would definitely recommend this lodge.

Candy was a good host, and warmly welcomed us.

Moontide Riverside Lodge is very faded and in desperate need of renovation. The boardwalk is broken and falling into the river, the rooms are dated and smell musty. This property does not even closely match the standard of other similarly priced hotels, being i would estimate 3 to 4 times the cost it should be. On top of that, we were charged a late check in fee (we arrived at 7pm) which is ridiculous but maybe gives an indication of the kind of property this is. I’d also like to make clear that this fee has not negatively impacted my view of the hotel and without this the hotel would still be entirely disappointing.

Sehr ruhig gelegen in einer wundervollen Natur an einem Kanal, in dem man auch schwimmen konnte. Das Personal liest einem die Wünsche von den Lippen ab. Sehr gutes Frühstück und super Getränkeauswahl. Die Managerin Candi ist ein wandelndes Wikipedia und hilft in wirklich allen belangen.

Das Hotel liegt in einem kleinen Ort Wildernis, direkt an einer Lagune. Es war sehr ruhig und angenehm. Man konnte die Kanus des Hotels kostenlos nutzen um einen Ausflug auf der Lagune zu machen. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommen und herzlich.

Die Terassen-Stühle aus Gusseisen waren leider etwas unbequem ohne Polsterung. Mehr Abwechslung beim Frühstück und etwas interkontinentaler wäre prima.

Right at the beginning we got a good introduction and information about possible activities, which we appreciated very much. We used one of the free of charge canoes to paddle to the kingfisher trail - very enjoyable. There are a couple of nice places directly at the lagoon with sun loungers - perfect to rest and relax. Breakfast was great. In general a very nice and peaceful location at the end of a dead-end-street.

The room was very nicely decorated but a bit dark and poorly soundproofed. But as it was absolutely quiet in the night, it was not a problem.

The river was beautiful and taking and a boat trip and using the kayaks were lovely experiences.

The staff are super nice and friendly and were extremely helpful with little tips about where to eat and what to do in the area. The setting by the water is beautiful and tranquil. The rooms are perfectly private and are like little suites. There's overall an excellent attention to detail and thoughtfulness that has gone into the place.

Tolle Lage, sehr nette Gastgeber.

Unser Cottage ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen (erfährt in Bälde eine Renovation). Das fleckige Sofa hat uns etwas gestört.

We had the unit right by the river and it was mesmerising and food for the soul. We went up the river with the ferry and the canoe. Lots of birds to enjoy. Loved the friendly staff and general vibe. Nice restaurants as well. The blue olive and girls on the square was great.

We would have liked more space, but we were there for three nights so it was fine.

Situated right at the river it’s a beautiful place to spend your time in wilderness. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The owner is a beautiful lady. The Guesthouse is a warm and welcoming place. Candice the manager, gave us lots of information on what to do in the area. We really enjoyed our stay.

Feels like a real getaway hidden away in the trees. Edmond and Candice are such a delight and always make us feel so much at home.

Der Aufpreis fürs Kind war etwas hoch und wurde uns erst bei der Abreise mitgeteilt. In jeder anderen Unterkunft auf der Gardenroute durfte unser Kind sogar kostenlos übernachten.

Ideally situated off the N2, it was very easy to find. Very pleasant staff welcomed us and showed us to our beautiful room, The Boathouse. Very elegantly furnished and exceptionally comfortable.

Das Frühstück am River ist definitiv ein Highlight des Tages. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, die Lage in Schlagdistanz zum Meer und zum Ort ist perfekt

Die zweite Schlafgelegenheit war nur über eine Stiege erreichbar und die Betten dort waren eher für Kinder geeignet.

Location and style of Moontide is very fitting of the Wilderness experience. The tranquility of the accommodation and it's surroundings made for a peaceful and calm visit. Wilderness is definitely worth a stop over to do one or two hikes. We visited Sisters on the Square for a meal and it was very good.

After a last minute flight change we were just looking for somewhere to get our heads down to break up a long drive. Moontide Riverside Lodge quickly became so much more than that, our room Treetops was amazing, fantastic views of the river from a private deck. Candi was so kind and accommodating, especially when we arrived later than planned. Our only regret is that we couldn’t have stayed longer. Highly recommend!

Wonderful location with very welcoming, knowledgeable and excellent staff.

We loved our stay at Moontide... Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer! The views of the river are amazing and ever changing. We enjoyed the cosy nights by the fire and the beach and town are just a short walk away. The staff is really what sets this guesthouse apart from any other we stayed at and we would book here again in a heartbeat when we come back to South Africa!

Beautiful spot next to the lagoon. Gorgeous thatched individual lodges with unique touches. The breakfasts were amazing! Really comfortable beds. Edmund and the team were really helpful. Recommend borrowing a canoe and paddling to the waterfall- it takes a while and involves an hours hike but worth it. Also highly recommend Salinas for sunset cocktails and fish. Amazing stay.
