Well equipped, comfortable and clean. Very quiet and the grounds were well maintained, lovely forest walk on the doorstep
Very remote
Facilities were excellent as usual. This is our family holiday every year. Ballyhoura is great any time of year, summer or autumn. It is very peaceful among the trees, lovely for walks and cool from the heat of the day.
There was nothing we didn't like. As there is a drought in Ireland at the moment there was an issue with the water in the morning but our supervisor was extremely helpful and showed us how to fix the issue very quickly.
L'emplacement en pleine nature
Area & Setting, good kitchen set up
Lodges are a bit run down and dark, we had to pay additionally for electricity after paying over €800 for 3 nights accommodation
Die Lage abseits von allem hektischen im grünen war sehr angenehm.
Die Einrichtung der Küche war schon sehr abgewohnt. Küchenutensilien waren sehr minimal und wurden auf Nachfrage ergänzt.
Beautiful location, home from home facilities
Le calme et le lieu .
Sehr schöne ruhige Lage
Ausstattung an Geschirr / Küchenutensilien könnte für ein 6-Personen-Objekt reichhaltiger ausfallen ... ist halt zu wenig vorhanden
Ballyhoura is a wonderful place to get away from it all. It is our third visit and it still impresses us. The location is great right in the woods with possible walks available. Will come again.

Spacious & clean
Nothing
Everything you need is provided, it is a home from home. Great if you have young children or pets. Idyllic location and a great pub nearby.
WiFi could be stronger in areas outside of main living room as there is no cellular reception.
we loved the quiet location and the views of the mountains. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The living area was large and well appointed - we enjoyed the selection of games and the TV. We received regular updates from Maggie about where to find the keys and things we needed.
The kitchen equipment needs a refresh - no wooden spoons, not enough glasses or mugs.
Beautiful setting and very comfortable accommodation, would love to have stayed longer
Slight difficulty getting cooker to work, could have been us though!!
Nice concept; holiday park in the woods with various play areas and forest footpath. Nice Layout of property with big living space and decent sized bedrooms. Excellent mountain biking close-by
The property and holiday park did not feel well looked after. There was mould on the ceiling, broken/ mossy playground equipment, greasy oven. Felt cold even in July due to dampness. We saw fleas on the carpet probably from previous dog guest. Kitchen lacked a few basics like a large chopping knife and colander.
Great location
One of the showers didn’t work properly would either not work at all or stop mid shower. Also gave 50 euro deposit for electric not received any change.
Every bedroom has its own en-suite Lovely forest river walk at the bottom of the property park Lovely open plan kitchen/dining/living Huge wood burning stove
N/A
The playground equipt was mostly broken or covered in green slime moss stuff so that was disappointing. We were there the St Brigids weekend and the chalets were very cold, even with the fire lit and the heating on full blast in the house for 4 hours,, the kids asked for 2 pairs of Pjs and to borrow the quilts from the other room that we weren’t using. Kitchen had everything you’d need, really a very enjoyable stay. Will come back again but wound love to see the playgrounds cleaned and updated.
Beautifully located. Plenty of space. Lovely Christmas decorations.
Very clean, well equipped, cozy, great location. Responsive host, very welcoming and helpful.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.
Lovely quiet location, nice fireplace and extra wood provided
The lodge was very comfortable, and the setting was beautiful. Very peaceful lots of great walks. The manager, Maggie, was extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely be booking again.
The location was super for walks and trails Maggie at reception that I dealt with was friendly and professional, the cabin was cosy especially with log burning stove
The mattresses were not very comfortable which really let the place down
Location and setting were perfect for hiking.
The Lodge was very cold on arrival. The electric heating which you had to pay extra for had to be on all the time to warm the lodge. This was winter time. The average temperature was 12 degrees.
Lovely peaceful location with many nice walks nearby. Great place to switch off & just take it easy. The wood burning stove was great.
Could do with more kitchen utensils. There was an electric mixer but no beaters so we couldn’t whip cream on Christmas Day. There also wasn’t a wine bottle opener so we had to knock on a neighbours to borrow one. Only one days wood supplied for the fire so we didn’t have enough to keep the fire going on Christmas Day which was very disappointing. We managed to find a few bits a pieces outside but they didn’t last long.
Loved the stove as we arrived as storm Darragh was landing.so esb went off but it was lovely the roar of the fire and mad sound of the forest.then climbed into a nice comfy bed .
Nothing Todo with property but the pub in the little village has been closed. So we had to go to next village for bite to eat and drink.
House very cosy and comfortable. All mod cons. Great location. Very quiet. Lovely walks nearby.
Nothing really.
Spacious lodge in a peaceful location. Good for a break from the city.
Cold and damp inside. Some areas need deep clean.
Lodge was in a great and very scenic location. Accommodation was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities provided.
A lovely setting for a gathering of friends - quiet location, walking distance to a friendly pub and a nice place to just switch off and relax. Clean house, pet friendly, quiet setting, and loved the wood burning stove.
The decor is a little bit dated, but the house was clean and a bonus that it's a pet friendly location. Kitchen could do with a few more cooking supplies and utensils as it's the type of place you'd cook for yourself in (otherwise you're driving to different areas to eat out etc.)
Beautiful location. Very peaceful. Good area if you enjoy walking or mountain biking . The lodge was very clean.
Everything great as usual. Third year in a row we use the services. Well located. Perfect with our dog with lovely forest walk and surrounding.
Nothing.
We had a performance in Cork city and we wanted somewhere relaxing and safe, to relax and park our equipment before and after the event, we couldn't off found anywhere better ,it was amazing ,we were so relaxed, we didn't want to leave , the accommodation was only an hour from cork which is a short drive for musicians that are used to travelling, so the distance was perfect , the accommodation was clean and had absolutely everything we could possibly need , one off our band members went for a relaxing walk in the forest while the rest off us sat outside with a cup off tea surrounded by trees and amazing views, Maggie our host was amazing so kind and a beautiful soul, we will definitely return ,the band members want to return for longer next time just to relax and take time out off our busy schedules as a wee retreat, we have found the most beautiful, peaceful place in ballyhoura mountain Lodge, thank you From Ren Marabou and the berserkers (donegal)
The Beautiful location, the reliable and obliging Property Manager, Maggie, The beautiful views, The off the grid cocoon and all the facilities needed for a calm invigorating break.
Loved the open space in the Lodge. The peace and quite and closeness to nature.
The location and vibe of the accommodation were absolutely amazing. Very clean and comfortable. Private. Very quick to reply to any queries.
We loved the location
The water supply was not proper
The property was sold to me saying it was disabled frindly and easy accessible as i am in a wheelchair, this is not the case there were two steps into the property and their was no disabled access shower as advertised overall i feel that the property was good for able body people or someone with minor disabilitys but not for people with wheelchairs. When advertising these properties i wish companys check out the propertys they are advertising, as a disabled person i feel as thou i was let down .
Great location. Walking distance to the trails, heaven for dogs 🐶 Very spacious lodge and excellent staff ,and customer service.
Self catering - fab kitchen
Great find - will be back!
The lodges were perfect for family. Really felt safe.
Loved the space in the cabin and how quiet the location is
Playgrounds could do with a revamp. Having to pay for electricity before checking out
Lovely quiet location perfect for large groups and safe for small children, maggie the caretaker pleasant helpful lady,
Houses felt a little musty , needed airing before arrival, trouble with water in taps no hot water available in one of the houses
Nice and quiet, change from the city.
Needs a bit of an update, smells musky when u open any cupboard, kettle full of limescale, your deposit is €50 when u arrive and whatever esb u use during ur stay is deducted which isn't stated during booking.
The size of the units are very big and spacious and fairly spaced out for your privacy, so was very relaxing. There are many walks and trails nearby which are great and it's not too far from towns with groceries etc... Also great for day trips down to Cork, Kinsale etc... and we even went to Mizen head for a day which was 3hr one way (if you don't mind travelling a bit further) all in all it was a great holiday spent with family.
There was not much but I did have one gripe being the induction stove top to cook on was small (the large ring didn't work) therefore we could only cook in a small pan (provided) and this meant cooking small portions at a time to make up each meal which in turn meant having the stove on way longer than necessary for each meal which sort of dampened the mood as electricity is charged separately (sorry I have not had this before).
Location Spacious interior seating available outside Games available to use brilliant in evening Great nature walks nearby Good access to nearby towns for shopping
Dripping tap in kitchen throughout stay No toilet seat in twin room which was being used had to use en suite in family room
Nice location for our stay
property was a bit dated
Nice spacious lodge with easy access to nice walks
Everything was pretty good so no real complaints
Just beautiful
Onebest place I been stayed ❤
Peaceful
Location
A little cold
We had a wonderful time at this property. Location and facilities were great. Kids loved it. We will be back
Very safe, wonderful for kids, quiet, beautiful surroundings, spacious house, delighted to be able to bring the dog.
Our house was a little dated compared to the other one but we still loved it.
Spacious accommodation. Peaceful location
Only minor but could have done with a few more and bigger pans in the kitchen
The location was wonderful, with beautiful views. Maggie was very kind.
It was a bit cold inside the house. The door of the wood stove was broken, also the key box.
Beds very comfortable and big rooms and facilities.
Loved the location. Cabin was fabulous.
The pillows were the slightest bit uncomfortable.
A lovely location with the mountains in the distance. Three bedrooms, all with en suite. All appliances were hi spec and a great log burner for chilly nights. Comfortable beds and sofas. A ten minute walk to the local pub - The Village inn or "Nuala's place" A great pub ! You will need 50 euro cash when you arrive for a deposit for the electric.
Not a big problem, but the windows could have been a little cleaner on the inside in the living room.
Quiet location but walk to pyb
A little cold at night
Excellent facilities. Clear communication. Comfortable rooms
Nothing negative as such regarding accommodation. Take care while using navigation systems as sometimes the route it works out is steep (not the accommodation issue but more of a navigator issue)
Very spacious and very clean would highly recommend brilliant for the family just to get away
Quiet woodland location
Some minor repairs and details for maintenence ie shower fittings. It's about 25 minutes to a town with restaurants in the car
Super friendly host, super cute decorations, enough hot water and almost a power shower (not guaranteed in Ireland!), spacious, and next to us horses with a baby horse :) a garden
Bring earplugs for the cars.
Tranquillity, walks, facilities in the house. Very comfortable living arrangements. Rugby experience only 50 minutes away a must for everyone.
Maybe Easter isn't the best time for teenagers as some of the mountain bike hiring and kayaking are closed midweek. Older TV so you would need to being leads.
Lovely quiet area, great for walks, treks. local pub was walking distance. nearest village was 5km, great for a nature break away. Cabin had everything. Maggie, the host was very helpful.
Have been in Log cabins a few times, and love them, but this time it was disappointing
The property was cold and there was a lot of mould on the blinds, And had a musky smell, the shower in the ensuite was Crap, and in both bathrooms, there was nowhere to hang your towel, they really need a makeover for the price that they charge . (But Maggie was a lovely lady and very helpful )
Clean, spacious and welcoming
Nothing
House was great. Everything you need.
