Really beautiful views of the mountains and the sea!
Quiet and peaceful place, views outstanding.
No washing machine and not enough towels.
The views from the living area and main bedroom were great.
It was a bit expensive for 4 guests given that we were going there out of season.
we were blessed with lovely weather, and the outdoor facilities were fabulous
The scenery from the cottage is unreal. Nestled under Slieve Foye you have an unspoiled view over the entirety of Carlingford Lough and the Western Mournes. Weather was sunny when there, which just applified the view. The cottage itself was brilliant. Great big communal living space and all the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Location wise you are a short 5min drive into the bustling Carlingford with its many pubs and restaurants. An added bonus to the cottage was the massive kids play frame tucked into 1 corner of the massive garden. We had a 3 year old with us and she spent hours having a ball on it. Excellent place if looking somewhere to stay in the Cooley Peninsula.
Nothing drastic. Outdoor space unreal. Just would have been useful to have an extrinsic heat source to use outside later at night such as a firepit
The cottage was really lovely, cosy and had gorgeous views.
Very clean, spacious, good location
There was nothing to dislike
Beautiful views from the propertly. Very good location to the town. Comfortable rooms and beautiful decor. We were so lucky with the weather that we could use the outdoor space. Highly recommend this property.
The only thing and this is clutching at straws and didn't hinder the trip what so ever, but the shower room became rather slippy and dangerous after a few people showered, even after wiping the water away.
Spacious, well presented and clean. House was modern and had everything we needed for the stay. Local taxi service made accessing Carlingford easy and affordable. Would highly recommend and will book again in the future.
A bit further out of Carlingford but there was a taxi service so not a deal breaker.
Great host. Beautiful house!
The views from the cottage were beautiful. The garden suited our family as there are lots of outdoor seating space so we could sit and eat outside. . Large open plan kitchen which was clean and well equipped. Bedrooms and bathrooms clean and comfortable. Close to the Greenway and Carlingford. We had a lovely stay
Some of the play equipment would need attention some bits were broken and in need of repair or replacement
Everything, fabulous place. Beautifully finished.
The house, the facilities, the views excellent . And the host very reliable and answered to all emails in minutes .
The door handle on one bedroom was faulty and the doors keep banging
The views. 😀The garden. 😀The bungalow is great.😀
1 Free standing bath- Not plumbed in .☹️ 2. No fuel for fire, (coal or logs )☹️
beautiful cottage with stunning scenery. Everything you need in one place
the cottage is stunning and in a great location!
We had the most wonderful stay at Maggie Jane's Cottage - the scenery from the kitchen and out the back was absolutely stunning. We were here for a family member's 70th birthday and we could not have wanted anything more than what we got. The kids absolutely loved the swings and slides and there were 3 different areas to sit and relax and take in the view. Unfortunately our weather wasn't great on the Saturday (it rained very heavy all day) but we had the lovely cozy fire on and we enjoyed a little trip into Carlingford, however the kids couldn't wait to get back to the house! They loved the space! The bedrooms were perfect, the kids room had two double beds adjoined (very cleverly put together) and the birthday girl had the nice double room with the beautiful view. There were two bathrooms - one with a shower and the other one with a bath (no shower in this one) - there were plenty of towels and toilet rolls (only thing missing was the handwash, but we had our own). The beds were so comfy - and everyone had a great nights sleep. The kitchen was open plan with a huge table that sat 8 and there was a breakfast bar area that sat another 3 people - the kids loved the breakfast bar area and the scenery again from here was stunning! The kitchen had mostly everything you could need with a pantry to put all your food/snacks and a double fridge/freezer. There was even an actifry which came in brilliant for doing some chips for the kids! the only item missing from the kitchen we could see was a jug for making up juice for the kids, but we made do! All in all we had the most amazing family weekend and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a family weekend away in a beautiful location that is easy to get to from all directions. It is an excellent set up and the work that has been put into this cottage is a testament to the owners- they have done a wonderful job. Thanks for letting us stay and we will be back!
The rain on Saturday! Which is absolutely nothing you can prevent! We had the most beautiful day on Friday and Sunday though which made up for the rain on Saturday! :)
Comfortable, great view
Grubby, lighting very poor, shower was extremely hot and difficult to control, front door was unmanageable so we used the back door, no logs for the fire and bath is not in use. Lacked proper glasses and not enough of them. We had no instructions as to get into the house and were able to get in by chance as we found keys under a rock. Tried phoning but no one answered our call.
stunning property in stunning surroundings. lots of space inside and out. very handy to carlingford and omeath. perfect!
Amazing set up for families with small kids 😍
