Kenmare Eco Lodge

Magnifique maison au calme décorée avec goût et avec une charmante hôtesse.

Amazing location by the river. A very big house, very well decorated and very comfortable. It felt like a real home. We even saw a deer one morning.

It is quite isolated and hard to find, so I would recommend it for big groups. No coffee machine or microwave, and long and complex instructions for everything.

L'emplacement du logement est bien situé, à proximité de la ville et une vue très agréable. L maison est agencer de façon à ce que nous ayons notre espace et notre intimité. La chambre pour 2 personnes aiment au rez-de-chaussée et la chambre triple à l'étage juste à côté de la chambre de l'hôte

L'hôte est plutôt inaccessible (portes de la cuisine et du salon fermé ce qui ne nous laisse penser qu'il ne faut pas la déranger), plutôt exigeante. Nous devions quitter le logement à 11h. A 10h30 elle nous dit qu'il faut bientôt partir et essaye de rentrer dans la salle de bain où mon ami se douchait ce qui nous a sembler étrange et déplacer. De plus, la douche de la chambre triple est relativement petite.

Absolutely loved this place! Incredibly comfortable beds and linen, and the location is magical

It was clean and comfortable in a secluded part of the mountains, so it was peaceful and the view was amazing, but only a 10minute drive from a lovely town with loads of restaurants and bakery’s.

I loved the Eco Lodge it was beautiful ,clean and welcoming. I wished I could have stayed for longer. It was streets ahead of anywhere in Kenmare and you lived in the countryside at one with nature. It was home from home.

Not staying longer

The property was full of character, fits perfectly with the surroundings and the area. Very quiet, there’s access to the river, incredible view from master bedroom. Very close to Kenmare.

Beautiful lodge and surroundings

Roads to premises are narrow one car roads with passing spots..lanes basically more suited to cycling activities of which there are plenty of routes for mountain biking

Her home is beautiful but the photographs are misleading about areas that are accessible to guests and pets.

The property description should be clearer that this is a room only. No access to the outside courtyard as the door was in need of repair. I would not advertise this accommodation as pet friendly, dogs were confined to the room only.

Anne was the hostess with the mostest she was so kind and helpful, the eco lodge is bed only but there are plenty of excellent eaterys in Kenmare town, I would highly recommend the eco lodge, a little piece of heaven in a beautiful county

Absolutely nothing I couldn't find fault

House was warm & owner was friendly. While its called Eco Lodge which sounds like some kind of "Glamping Unit", its actually a normal 2 storey house.. Owner is interested in caring for the environment and she had house built to a high standard of insulation. Good parking facility outside.

Its quite a long distance from Kenmare and quite tricky to locate on narrow rural roads particularly late at night. Better finger post signs at junctions would assist & you definitely need a car to get there. Beware of deer on roads at night as they could jump out & damage your car!

Keep in mind that you will be living with the host in the house, in the room next to yours. They may occasionally make comments to you regarding the inappropriate use of household items.

Access to whole house, quiet and comfortable, great kitchen.

Biggest issue was change in acceptable payment the day before arrival. Although Visa and cash payment were listed on website, Visa was not accepted for early payment. We had cash payment but it became not acceptable the day of arrival. This made for an anxious couple of hours accessing PayPal at a restaurant. We know the host was injured, but there must have been some way to collect cash. Milk was not provided. No breakfast. Location sign could be more noticeable.

Absolutely beautiful country house in Kenmare. Hidden away in the true countryside, the house offers the most comfortable stay. Anne, the owner was a wonderful host and super welcoming and made the stay super enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and I would highly recommend staying here to anyone thinking of doing the Ring of Kerry.

Stayed here for the Ring of Beara cycle . We were blown away, hidden outside Kenmare on its own little oasis . The house is perfectly designed & decorated, waking up looking out the French doors from the bed at the beautiful Kerry surroundings was incredible . It was an adventure exploring the house and garden .

Taxi’s are non existence in Kenmare !

The time we were able to spend without the host bothering us.

The host was unwelcoming, rude, condescending and controlling. We unfortunately didn't feel comfortable during this stay because the host threatened us with undisclosed charges, interrupted our quiet time on several occasions, nitpicked about everything we did, and verbally harassed us. As soon as we entered the ecolodge we were asked if we were part of a religious cult (we were visibly Muslim)

It was very clean and felt like a warm home. It was like being in a fairy tale. The best of Irish country living.

Everything really lovely home and very comfortable especially the bed. Seeing deer in the front yard early in the morning Anne the host was very accommodating If you just wanted to relax and go walking it would be good.

It was a bit further out of Kenmore than I expected maybe not for a person who is going The ring of Kerry as there is a lot of back tracking if you stay two nights. If you are planning only to do the Barra Peninsula from Anne's this would be okay. No place close to get food.

Located up some fairly narrow roads (?), with grass growing up the middle. Bit of a problem when we met a vehicle traveling the opposite direction. All part of the joy of Rural Ireland I suppose!

The eco lodge didn't live up to the description: a room in a local's house, with no access to the kitchen. The price was far too high for what this accommodation represented...

it wasn’t what was advertised. it was not a lodge but rooms. Main lodge space like kitchen and sitting room were not available for us. It was not what was advertised. Owner was in the house while we staid. I would pick B&B instead

We loved the host who was very kind and we had a few nice chats with her. The little living room downstairs was lovely to sit in and have a morning coffee while looking over the pretty views.

No milk for the coffee. Hostess seemed offish at our check-in. Clear information about keys and access was not provided, it was as if we were expected to simply know what to do.

Pictures on booking.com very misleading.Im sure if you booked entire house it would be a lovely stay however when staying as a couple - very small granny flat which is attached to the hosts siting room, not private at all however the host a was very friendly.

Super nice cottage in the middle of nature! Spacious and extremely clean. Anne is a fantastic host and gives you plenty of tips for exploring the surroundings.

The location is very inconvenient and hard to find. The host was really unfriendly and rude. She came into our room when it was locked and then complained that it was messy. Very bizarre considering we were the guests. We were only given milk for tea on the first day. There was no body wash and tissues. We felt really uncomfortable and weren’t sure if we could use the kitchen or living room. The bathroom curtain was quite dirty. In the future the host should put clear rules as to how she expects guests to behave. As we were shocked that she complained about things like wet towels or a messy room when we weren’t expecting her to come in during our stay.

Lots of space

A little far out with difficult roads back to main path I see a response saying staying 7 - 10 days may help, unlikely when having to reverse on narrow roads to let cars pass due poor infrastructure is the issue, 7 - 10 days of this likely to drive anyone insane We have zero problems catering for our family, our problem was with the journey out and back from the house it’s quite difficult

The house was amazing. It’s so spacious and the location is so peaceful. The views are incredible and it’s only a 10 minute drive from Kenmare. Anne was lovely to deal with.

What a super relaxing house we brought our baby and cocker spaniel. The house is exactly like the photos. The facilities are excellent and the walks and stream near the house are beautiful. Kenmare is a small drive away and we enjoyed music and great food. Lovely two day stay.

House was beautiful. Had everything. Amazing scenery.

We loved our stay in this beautiful elegant home on exceptional grounds. Anne has taken great care to curate with interesting artwork & decorative features. She has also made great efforts with eco friendly products etc. The kitchen is equipped with everything from a needle to an anchor! A shallow river at the end of the property was a daily joy for our teenage daughter & little dog. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for the grandparents. It was only a short drive to Kenmare for all the essentials. This is an ideal location for touring all that Kerry has to offer but really you won’t want to leave the house!
