Lovely spacious house close to the town centre. Donegal is a lovely town and area and this was the perfect base.
The location.
The very steep narrow stairs. This needs to be clearly pointed out in the description. We couldn’t carry our bags up and so had to bring items up and down the stairs as needed. There was also a lot of dust on the bedrooms and my friend who gets asthma suffered a lot.
So cute! Great location, only a few minutes to the heart of the down. Clean, quiet.
The location was just perfect and there was on-site parking. The house was certainly large enough on the inside and all the facilities were good. There was the usual Netflix and smart Tv along with a coffee machine and ample cooking equipment (we ate out everyday). Joy was very easy to contact and responded to any issues really quickly.
Nothing really - even the weather was great!!
Central position of the accommodation. This fitted our needs perfectly. Availability of good quality eating/drinking places nearby. Will come again and recommend to others.
Everything was perfect for our purposes. No negative comments.
The bathroom could do with a little attention the rubber around the edge of the bath/shower was loose.
Location walking distance to shops pubs restaurants Castle
The rain lol
The location made it easy to walk to places we wanted to see in the town, like restaurants, pubs and convenience stores..
There was no hot water out of the taps, which made washing dishes a challenge. Had to use the electric kettle for this. The manual provided indicated a switch for this, but this only seemed to turn on the shower unit. Also, there is a strong mildew smell in the kitchen, which is very off-putting. Otherwise was pretty clean.
Exceptional place to stay, Joy a great host, check in easy, a minute walk to the town centre, would highly recommend to stay, had everything you need
I would highly recommend this property, it's clean, comfortable and in the heart of Donegal town close to all amenities. Communication from owner was excellent, all amenities in the house were as described and of a good quality. Fabulous to find a pet friendly property in such a fantastic location!!
I have no negative comments about this property.
Location, cleanliness, space and parking.
Perfect Holiday home in a Central location.
Fantastic property with excellent facilities. Very clean and everything that you would want!! 10 Out of 10

De locatie. Het huis ligt centraal in Donegal op 5 minuten van Pubs en restaurants. Het huis heeft 3 aparte slaapkamers met alle faciliteiten. goeie prijs kwaliteit. Aardige behulpzame host.
I wanted to stay in Donegal Town and that’s why I booked this property on January 1st as the previous reviews were excellent.
If I was being picky we would have liked a tumble dryer to dry our clothes as the weather was not great. This obviously is no fault of the owner.
close to the town, bedrooms were nice and front lounge and kitchen nice to.
The back room is not so nice, there was pink stuff on the floor, and I'm not sure what it was.needs a bit of T.L.C as like the bathroom does, bath seal was coming off the bath panel was broken,I had to support the shower head up with string.
We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in Tirchonaill Townhouse. Het ligt in het centrum van Donegal. Heelrijk om te voet het prachtige stadje te verkennen. De tafeltennistafel in het huis was favoriet!
Fantastic location, large quirky house, brilliant facilities. Milk and basket of sweet treats was a really nice touch. Very welcoming and homely, would definitely come again!

Great location
Great house but needs a little tlc
L emplacement est parfait. La maison est grande er propre avec tout le confort possible !
Excellent location. Everything we needed was available.
Nothing!
Great location. Off street parking was brilliant. Good information provided and plenty of useful items in the property. Thank you for biscuits and crisps.
But it’s a very tired property. The bed linen and towels are old and worn (towel had a hole!) The bathroom was really badly cleaned. Black mould to the tiles, shower screen and taps. Broken bath panel. I refused to use the shower as I was not prepared to shower with the mould there. The bed linen is so old (although the front bedroom was better.) The mattress did not fit the bed and overhung making sleeping uncomfortable. The oven had been cleaned but not deep cleaned. The dishwasher was full of dirty plates from previous guest and so we didn’t use it. Such a shame. I’m sure the host is delightful and the property was probably equally lovely in the past but it’s just crying out for some money to be spent on it.
The location was excellent! The townhouse was well equipped and roomy. Joy has put together a wonderful informational package available for guests regarding the what to see, where to eat, and things to do in Donegal.
Great location up the block from Donegal Castle and the heart of shopping and pubs.
Unclear parking instructions, odd layout. Nice that there were 3 bedrooms, but very tiny and only bathroom upstairs. Confusing instructions about hot water… never did get any from kitchen and bathroom sinks… luckily it was an electric shower. Residual smell of cigarette smoke.
great location minor problem fixed very quickly good value for the money thanks
a problem with the heating sorted quickly when the owner was informed
the location parking comfortable beds information booklet quick response of owner everything we needed was there. Great heating
some repairs needed some areas could have been cleaner we couldn't get many channels on tv "Smart tv didn't work" Strong smell of damp down stairs
How clean , tidy well equipped the property is. Its excellently located to the town centre and close to the railway museum and castle.
It met and above our expectations.
So close to everything
An absolute diamond of a place, oodles of room and charm and space. Did I mention the location is perfect with included and discreet parking. Minutes from the many and varied opportunities on the doorstep and a great base. We will be back as we have been spoilt and the host is brilliant with communication.
Accommodation was absolutely spotless, was in a great location walking distance from everyone, will definitely be recommending to my friends
Everything supplied that you could need to enjoy a self catered break away. Big house, lots of space and things to do (games etc) and the host Joy was so hospitable and lovely
A few elements of the house could do with a little pep up. It’s not a polished palace but honestly for the price, it’s such good value and really comfortable
Perfect location! Very cozy and comfy. It’s the perfect size for a family. Joy was very helpful and accommodating!
The location was perfect. Facilities were good, plenty of quality tea and coffee available, other food/cooking bits too.
The shower wasn't very strong but was adequate.
Great house with lots of amenities. Tirchonaill House is surprisingly bigger than what we had expected. Excellent location to dander into town or a base for exploring the surrounding Donegal countryside. Joy is a great host who is easily contactable and sorted out a small issue we had immediately. Wonderful hospitality!
Really good location for Donegal Town, everything within walking distance. Beds really comfortable. Plenty of space downstairs too. Any queries we had were addressed immediately by Joy. We will be back, but for a longer stay the next time
Very detailed arrival instructions given by Joy and self check in was really handy. Lots of children's toys/books in the house. Well equipped house in a great location. Great value.
Joy was so helpful with places to go and made sure we had all we needed. Thanks again
Great location, just few minutes walk to town centre. Very well equipped with everything you need.
Great location, lots of room ideal place to explore Donegal
Every thing was fine
The beds were comfy, the house was big, joy was very helpful when the heating wasn’t on she helped me and she always answered my txts when i needed to ask anything, she was a wonderful hosts
The decor was dated and wallpaper coming of the wall now i am being picky but the bathroom was not very good bath panel broke and not very clean. the kitchen was not as clean as it should be. There was dust everywhere cobwebs everywhere, i always take my own towels anywhere i go so I didn’t use the towels but they looked clean and ok.
The house, although a bit older, was clean and tidy with everything you could need. We loved the cakes and milk , thanks. We received a video of how to get into the property which was really helpful. The location was fantastic with just a minutes walk to be in the centre of town. We loved our stay here.
My only slight gripe woulld be that one of the beds had a double base with a queen matress on it which meant it slipped a bit in the night.
Great location, great value and pleasant staff, load of space. The table tennis table was amazing idea.
The only think was that the beds weren't comfortable
The house was very nice and clean in a great location for exploring Donegal. We really enjoyed the table tennis 🏓 had a games morning and evening. I would recommend Tirchonaill Townhouse as the host was great at communicating and in a great location 10/10.
The only thing I would say is the beds were too soft and the TV had no RTE or virgin media channels
Great facilities, space, amenities, location. Responsive host.
Great location. It was peaceful. Spacious overall but bedrooms were small. The loaf of soda bread and butter was nice. Off street parking was great. The ability to wash clothes was great. The house was well equipped for families.
It had a bad smell throughout the house. Possibly something dead. The mattress in the second bedroom overhung the base and was dangerous to sleep on. I almost fell off the bed. The house and water system had to be turned on. As we are from overseas we are not used to operating these types of water systems. More instructions would be better so that we do not have to contact Joy.
Ease of contact with owner was excellent - house was so central and had everything we needed for our stay - been pet friendly was a big plus highly recommended
Nothing
Very homely. Good location within walking distance from the centre of Donegal. Clean & comfortable.
Parking space very tight
The location was very close to area stores and shops. Walking distance to attractions and area stores. Joy was a pleasure to work with. exceptional. She contacted me within minutes. Our stay was very comfortable. The rooms are good size and very spacious. Joy made a fire for us in the fireplace.
The location was perfect! The house had everything you would need.
Everything was good!
The location of the house was excellent. It was 5 minute walk to town centre.
Great central location.
Great position with short walk to town centre and space for car
Beds were old and saggy. Wifi only worked poorly upstairs
Convenient. It was close to some of the popular tourist destination.
Nothing.
Everything was perfect

Situated a few minutes walk away from Donegal town, Tirchonaill Townhouse is a beautiful house with a very welcoming feel to it. It had everything that we needed and more! The house was spacious and although it looks small from the outside it most definitely isn't. The place was spotless. An Added bonus was a downstairs toilet. Beds were super comfy and the shower was great. It also has a coffee machine (uses Tassimo pods) and a cafetiere for coffee lovers, not forgetting tea lovers with a selection of tea blends. One day the weather was poor so two of us stayed in. There are plenty of books to choose from, a few games and with a smart TV you will not be short of finding something to do. We honestly didn't want to leave which is a good thing. Many thanks to Joy who is a fantastic host and was very helpful throughout. We look forward to returning very soon.
House was perfect for our stay in Donegal for a wedding at Lough Eske Castle which is only 10 mins drive away. House was very spacious and homely, nice comfy beds and had everything we needed. The host, Joy, was amazing, she kept in touch with us the whole time and was so helpful. The house is right in Donegal Town so a few minutes walk to the shops and pubs 😊
Lots of space, great communication from the owners, great location near the castle and town square.
The downstairs toilet doesn't have a light. The towels are really thin and could do with replacing. I found the bed hard and not having the bedside cabinet next to the bed was somewhat inconvenient, though I realise it was because the room is small.
Lovely house with everything we needed for a wonderful weekend. Fantastic location and great communication from owner, we were made to feel very welcome and will definitely stay again.
There is plenty of room, a magnificent gas Range for cooking on, alot easier than electric cookers. Warm and comfy accomodation. And the owner Joy, left milk , biscuits and other items to start us off, after our journey, even tinned dog food, for our Tilly. Who does that for guests. It is only five minutes walk into the town centre, where there is several pet friendly bars.

Kids loved the board games n that there was 2 floors
The location in Donegal town is excellent. Perfect for exploring the western coast. From here we went to Sliabh Liag for a brisk walk, Killibegs for Ireland's best Fish and Chips, Mountcharles for pier swimming, a hike up Mount Errigal, cycling in Glenveagh National Park, surfing in Rossnowlagh, the cinema in Bundoran and of course, Tirchonaill castle. The house is perfect for families as you can relax in the evening and play board games with no pressure to eat out all the time. The kids had fun playing the complimentary xbox when we were relaxing in the house too. The utility room out the back is great for storing all the swimming clothes and wetsuits (out of sight). The host is super helpful and is always at the other end of the phone if you need her.
A very cosy quiet residence with lots of space for the four of us. Slept well too.
Nothing to dislike.
This is our 2nd time staying here wouldn't go by it now...would highly recommend The host is exceptional response very quickly and very helpful...house has everything you need..and some...perfect spot for walking into town...

Perfect location and very responsive hosts! Comfy beds. Nice having a 1/2 bathroom on the first floor. I would highly recommend!
the location of the property is perfect and has its own parking space. it’s very homely and it made the perfect base for our family with young kids. The owner was very helpful and made our trip really enjoyable due to her local knowledge.
loved it all
center of Donegal town.
limited parking.
The property was very accessible with private parking. Only a stone throw away from the town centre. Very spacious and spotless inside the house. Very nice touches such as milk, butter, jams and treats provided by the host. Would highly recommend to any family or group of friends and we will definitely be returning in the near future.
Genuinely couldn’t fault one thing about the place.
Brilliant location
The house was warm comfortable and inviting! Close to all town amenities, excellent parking!! Overall feeling of being part of community!!
