Reviewed Jul 28, 2025We loved our stay at Rathgillen Mews and it exceeded our expectations. Our family visited us from Belfast, while we came from NZ. It was spacious and the owner Peter was really friendly and hospitable. Same for Patch the incredible dog who entertained our kids for hours. The place has lots of entertaining tables. We absolutely loved our stay and can highly recommend it

Reviewed Jul 1, 2025The beds were comfortable and it was in a very quiet location. Host was good to respond quickly.
The property is very basic. There are 2 double bedrooms and 4 beds in one room upstairs but there were no wardrobes or even an hangar or somewhere to hang your clothes. We lived out of our case on the dining table. The toilet stopped working while we were there but my husband fixed it. The decor is from the 80’s and nothing matched. You couldn’t sit on the 2 seater settee as you fell into the middle. We had lovely patio doors in our bedroom but there was no key to open them! There was no attention to detail all signs sticking with cello tape and crooked, info all tatty and worktop where the tv, WiFi etc was very dusty. It was like the house was filled with donations as nothing matched.

Reviewed Sep 18, 2023County living at its best. Located on the top of a rise, in the midst of farmland, this was truly a quiet, restful location. Due to the rural location the key was left in the door, so we let ourselves in on arrival. We were greeted outside by the owner's dog, who loves to play catch with anyone willing to toss the ball to her. Peter came by a little while later and introduced himself and gave us a suggestion to visit Trim Castle as we continued on our journey. The two downstairs bedrooms were of a good size, with the main bathroom located on the same level. Upstairs were 4 twin beds with an ensuite shower room. The beds were comfortable, all facilities were clean and well presented. Peter was a friendly and welcoming host, we were glad to have made this stop on our journey.

Reviewed Sep 6, 2023Peter, our host, was very welcoming. Nice man and had great chats with him. The house was lovely and had plenty of room. We wanted for nothing. Lovely scenery too! As we are dog lovers, we were delighted that ‘Patch’ was around to visit every day. She is great fun. I think she enjoyed our company and would get so excited playing with the ball, she drank up 5 bowls of water every day! She kept us very fit. Such a friendly beautiful dog.

Host a gentleman , very helpful and kind.Very close to local Centra and villiage (2min drive) Great rural base location for going to Emerald park and Funtasia . 35 min to Funtasia. 40min approx to Emerald park . We are from the country side ourselves so it was great to come here after a long day in Emerald park. Great for family groups as we traveled in a party 6 kids 2 adults. Room with 4 single beds great for families. Great value for money. Great for families on a budget. Will stay again.

It's very rural with narrow roads into it for a few miles. The accommodation is very basic and the upstairs is very warm to sleep in
