Location is excellent, walk to the bay, brewery, main street, cafes. House is clean, tidy and has a well equipped kitchen, including plunger for coffee which is also provided. The view from the back window out to the bay is stunning. Short 5 min drive to lookout, forest walk and more stunning sea views. This is our third return trip, we love it here.

Would be great to have a dryer in the property as washing takes ages to dry in the cooler weather.

The house was unique in its furniture, artwork and styling. The facilities were great and the views were beautiful. A special thankyou to the host for organising the brochures and laminating them and presenting in a book.

Cottage is absolutely spot on. Lily has made everything easy to just walk straight in and make yourself at home. Location couldn't be better as I had my daughter and her friend, so the cottage is close to Oamaru's many great things to do. 5 min walk to grab a few takeaways. I had forgotten how beautiful the town is.

This is a lovely quirky cottage on the hill above the historic centre of Oamaru. There is on-street parking right outside. The kitchen/dining area was well stocked and clean with a 2 seater sofa opposite the picture window with a super view over the garden and down to the coast. The bedrooms (twin & double) were comfy and quiet. The separate living room had plenty of seating and TV etc for entertainment. We enjoyed an al fresco breakfast on the small terrace above the garden by the back door and took advantage of the washing machine (and indoor airer) to keep on top of our laundry. The host, Lilly, has furnished the place with lovely artwork and lots of quaint touches and tried to think of everything you could possibly need to have a great stay. The cottage is a short walk (downhill) to the old part of Oamaru and the Botanic Gardens, in easy reach of the Steam Punk Museum and about 20 minutes walk from the Little Blue Penguins.

The heat pump was a little tricky to operate - probably down to our inexperience with such things.

Beautiful wee little cottage with an amazing view of the ocean. The large window was perfect for watching the sunrise! The cottage had everything we needed and it was very tidy. The location was great and it was nice and quiet.

Location is perfect

A cosy cottage with a large picture window overlooking the harbour. We picked a very cold week, so the heat pump was useful. A great location.

房东应该是个艺术家，有品位、有情调，房间内部古色古香，餐台是木桌，躺在床上、坐在沙发上，就可以观看海上日出。

浴室没有供暖设施，如暖风机或暖灯。不过，瑕不掩瑜，总的体验是不错的。

A very good experience of a typical cottage with home feel.

Honestly the heating system isn’t good enough for a cold winter. Feel really cold although we have turned on all heatings. Cold wind come in through the gaps on the windows.

Comfy,close walk to town and penguin colony. Quiet, good view of ocean. Well-equipped kitchen. Person I was traveling with loved the retro feel of the place.

No dishwasher and unfortunately washing machine was not working. Owner left a note to say previous tenant had broken it and she could not get it replaced in time for our stay. Left a bottle of wine as compensation which we did like.

Lovely little cottage with amazing view of the harbour. Has toys for kids, books and it was fascinating to read the visitor book and see the lovely paintings by the host that you can purchase with cash, unfortunately we aren’t carting any. The cottage is just perfect and was undeniably our number 1 for the trip. It’s a short stroll away from everything that needs to be done in oamaru and basic stuff like eateries/groceries.

Could not get in the lockbox on arrival. Spent quite some time troubleshooting to no avail. Noticed key in the door after some tim. Received email advising this at 7:30pm in evening after arriving at 2:30pm. The previous day would have been appreciated. No shampoo or conditioner which was a bit inconvenient. The cottage was very clean and well presented though.

Wonderful views. Very clean. Well equipped kitchen. Charming and funky older cottage with some updates. Loved the art on the walls. Comfortable bed. I felt like I was staying in my great-grandmother’s original house; slightly modernized, before the neighborhood began to gentrify. Many original features, like the baffling door locks! The best view is from the bathroom window. We can picture a long term stay here. The place really grew on us. Oamaru is charming.

Backpackers hostel two doors down can be slightly rowdy. The neighborhood appears run-down at first glance but we felt perfectly safe.
