It was a cold and rainy day and the heater was on, so the cottage was warm and cosy with a lovely welcome gift waiting for us on arrival. It was very clean and comfortable, and private as well. The kitchen was fully functional, the bed was again very clean and comfortable. Loved the serenity and listening to nothing but the rain on the roof at night. Two comfortable lounge chairs to watch television. The escape from the crowded city accommodation we needed during peak season to recharge
The only negative is the lack of privacy with the toilet, which is 5 steps from the bed. It really needs a door here….maybe not good option if you are on a third date 😉

The bathroom is only partially separated from the bedroom right next to it; in our view it would be great to increase privacy by screening off the open space e.g. a simple curtain would do.

Sarita is definitely the gold standard of hosts - every detail had been thought of, from pin code door entry to make arrival easy, beautiful furniture, bedding and accessories, easy access to wifi, helpful notes on local attractions and places to eat, and a hand-written welcome note. The cottage is well laid out, fully equipped and extremely peaceful and private. Sitting on the deck in the morning with a coffee was sublime!
Absolutely nothing to improve - we just wish we'd discovered Sarita's cottages a long time ago :-)

We both really enjoyed our stay and it was very easy to get to the places we wanted to go. Good supermarket and other shops just up the road. Our room was everything we required.

Reviewed Jan 21, 2025This is a small cottage on the set up on the edge of a farm property, with its own private driveway. The accommodations were excellent and very comfortable. We were only there for one night, but this would be a great place for a muti-night stay. The kitchen was very nicely outfitted (it even has an oven) and the hosts were easy to contact.

Lots of amazing thoughtful touches- like yummy complimentary teas and coffees, really nice beach towels, a mini dishwasher to make cleaning easier, and all the bits and bobs that you don’t have to think about bringing from home for a stay like this (tea towels, cleaning sponges, detergent, salt and pepper, etc.) By far, the icing on the cake was having friendly pigs (Mary and Poppins) in the paddock just next to the property. They would come trotting over to say hello and happily eat food scraps. Sarita and Rob also have alpacas and goats that they are happy to show you at any time during your stay. Perfect little place for some downtime with easy access to the Banks Peninsula and Christchurch. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Very clean & tidy with everything you need on a weekend away. The crisp early mornings, peaceful & quiet with coffee. My fave 👌 Sarita was always in communication. Thank you to you and Rob for accomodating us. We loved our stay in the cottage and we will definitely come again. Highly recommended 😁

Fully fenced which was perfect as the dog could roam around freely, the best neighbours (2 pigs), and a very well-equipped tiny house/cottage, neat lay-out that worked really well. We used the kitchen to cook daily and the sofas were very comfortable to watch some tv in the evening. We also appreciated the small touches like eco bottles for shampoo and soap, and the best pillows ever (we are now looking to change ours to memory foam). It’s within a half hour drive from Chch and we did some day walks on the Banks Peninsula too. Highly recommend a stay here!

She’s truly thoughtful and the cottage itself had everything we needed and more. It was very cosey and had a lot of character and very well designed. The location is perfect too as it’s nice and quiet but close to all that you would need. We will definitely be back here to stay! 💕
