Good place to stay close to town and good view

We’ve stayed here quite a few times now, and it has truly become our home away from home. ❤️ The cottage is beautiful, with stunning views and everything we could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Every visit has been wonderful, and it never disappoints. Julie and Bill are fantastic hosts, welcoming and easy to communicate with. They’re always quick to respond and make everything so easy from start to finish. We especially appreciated them lighting the fire before our most recent arrival. Walking into a warm, cosy cottage on a cold winter’s night was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel right at home. 🔥 A huge thank you to Julie and Bill for always being such wonderful hosts. We really appreciate everything you do to make our stays so enjoyable, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit! 😊 We couldn’t recommend this beautiful little cottage and its lovely hosts highly enough!

Very beautiful well presented little place to stay with nice views

Loved the property, especially as the fire was lit when we arrived so the house was lovely and warm on cold winters night, and as we were out all day they offered to light it for our 2nd night. The place had everything we needed. love love love the water pressure in the shower. Nice to be out of town. Room configurations were good and good amount of space. Plenty of parking.

Very spacious, clean, & very homely. Hosts Bill & Julie were friendly & easy to deal with. Arriving at the property after 4pm in winter, it was a nice surprise to find the hallway light on & the fireplace set with a good supply of firewood. Very much appreciated. Also finding a few condiments in the pantry; oil, salt & pepper etc (either from previous stays or the hosts) came in handy!

Good space and clean

It was early March and chilly outside, and the property was freezing. Despite operating the heaters, we never really warmed up.

Amazing location

Better than stayiing in a motel, beautiful farmland view across the valley. Hosts had put the heatpump on to warm the place up. Very comfortable bed. All the facilities of home - nothing missing, even a wood-burner stove with plenty of firewood, a washing machine and clothes drier, full electric stove and oven, pots and pans, un-limited hot water (gas-heated), proper bath and a shower (not over bath), 3 bedrooms - 2 double and 3rd having 2 single beds. Just remember it's an older house in the country, so don't expect too much, but excellent for a family - some swings etc. outside. We'll be back.

It was such a lovely wee cottage, it had everything we needed plus it was lovely and warm with the fire on when we arrived!

Beautiful old cottage, private green surroundings, fireplace was on for us so nice warm arrival, small milk in fridge plus tea and coffee.

Great having a whole place for a long work stay and the fireplace was so nice to have in the cold temperatures this time of year

Lovely cottage with rural setting and amazing views. Well located close to town. Well equipped kitchen. Clean and very comfortable. Amazing hot water pressure. Very good communication from hosts. Nice wood fireplace.

Past reviews showed that the fireplace was pre-prepared for use. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case and we had one piece of wood in a container and had to scrounge around for some. Minor point. It was great when we got it going.

We came with a group of 5 Best experience ever felt like home vibes away from everything and piece and quiet and a amazing view from the deck we have struggled with accommodation down here when we come with our car trailers for a car event but the hosts made it a breeze when we could leave them at there’s as they had heaps of room the shower pressure was the best powerful compared to other places we have stayed at Julie the host was very welcoming and down to earth and amazing hospitality on behalf of all of us we would like to thank you Julie and Bill and we will definitely come back again

The house is spacious, clean and well resourced with plenty of kitchen appliances, crockery, cutlery etc and tea and coffee. Heatpump was awesome as one of our elderly members felt quite chilly. Hosts quick to communicate and respond to any queries. Such a beautiful, tranquil setting which was much needed after a busy day out and about. Very handy to local shopping strip which gave us lots of easy dinner options. Very well situated location. We were here for my son's sports tournament in Palmerston North and it's such an easy drive that I enjoyed making each day.

Good communication. Very clean and well laid out property. Kids also loved it will definitely stay again soon and regularly.

The TV. Would love a smart TV in there so I can watch movies or a chromecast to cast movies etc.

Spacious yet cosy with everything we needed. We arrived after dark and the owners had warmed the cottage for us. Will definitely stay here again.

Had a 1 night stay at Ataahua Home Stay with a group get-together before the show. When arriving later than expected Julie was very helpful with everything. The house is lovely with big deck, fireplace and heat pump which kept us lovely and warm. The beds were super comfortable. Will be back next year!

The house was exactly like the photos in the posting. Also arriving to a warm house with the fire going was a bonus!

A note was left for the host with these issues: 1. The location was advertised as a peaceful rural setting...there was traffic noise all hours of day and night = NOT peaceful. With a lack of sleep we left a day earlier. 2. There was a crack in a window the hosts were aware of; 3. There was a broken shelf in the fridge the hosts were aware of; should have been replaced before us guests used fridge. 4. Four light bulbs were not working - bedroom bedside; bedroom overhead; lounge 2x overhead lights; 5. Spiderwebs on kitchen light fittings; 6. Ceiling in kitchen was starting to flake/peel; 7. Food from previous guests was left in the freezer; 8. No instruction book such as where spare bedding was available. 9. Guests had to get TV working and found Wifi was not working so waited for hosts to fix.

Beautiful and comfortable cottage with a beautiful view. Really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely love stay again sometime.

Set in a beautiful location and very private. The area is relaxing and the cottage is so spacious, the photos don’t do it justice.

Unfortunately the home wasn’t as clean as expected. Spiders and cobwebs in most rooms and dishes were dirty. It could also be useful for guests to have a small amount of laundry powder so they can use the washing machine provided.

The house is gorgeous & in a beautiful location, spacious bedrooms & living. All kitchen utensils you could think of were there. Bill came to check that we were settled & we learned he too rides a motorbike. He guided us on a stunning scenic ride to Taihape. We would never have ridden that way if he hadn't shown us. Very grateful.

The sign for the house couldn't be seen from the direction we came from. Luckily, I recognized the house itself, and we turned around in the next driveway
