The property was beautiful and clean. The location was perfect for exploring the Medina. We felt completely safe as 2 older women traveling. We recommend having the meals cooked at the Riad. They were the best meals that we had after 2 weeks of traveling around Morocco. The AC in the bedrooms worked perfectly (not always the case we found). The best part was the kind hospitality of the hosts. They made us feel at home. Don't hesitate to book this place for a peaceful respite after exploring the city.

We recently stayed here as a group of 8. The riad was comfortable and equipped with all amenities required. Everything was clean and in good condition. Ali was a very helpful host, and replied to enquiries in a timely manner prior to our booking. His lovely sister, Radia, was also on hand during the stay and was equally as accommodating.

The hospitality of our host was exceptional. Ali helped us with every request we had and was always welcoming, kind, and smiling. The riad itself feels like something straight out of the tales of Scheherazade—beautiful, authentic, spotless, and perfectly maintained. Zeer vriendelijke host, goede en betrouwbare communicatie, prachtige charmante riad (kamers komen recht uit 1000 en één nacht) niet ver van de medina, maar toch iets rustiger gelegen, budgettair zeer correct, heel lekker ontbijt, schitterende lunch, goede tips voor de toeristen, veel interessante extra's zoals taxi-service.

We waren met een vriendengroep, niet elke kamer had dezelfde soort matras. Sommige waren wat hard. Verder alleen maar positieve zaken te melden.

Desde el primer momento, destacamos la limpieza impecable del riad: todo estaba perfectamente cuidado, por lo que le damos un 10 sin duda. El lugar es precioso, lleno de detalles, con un encanto especial que hace que te sientas cómodo y relajado en todo momento. Pero si algo ha marcado la diferencia ha sido la atención de Ali. Su amabilidad y cercanía han sido excepcionales. Ha estado disponible en todo momento, ayudándonos con todo lo que necesitábamos, resolviendo dudas y haciéndonos sentir como en casa. Su trato ha sido, sin duda, uno de los puntos más destacados de nuestra estancia. Todos hemos quedado encantados, y recomendamos este riad al 100% a cualquiera que visite Marrakech. Janat was a wonderful host and our kids really loved her. She was super helpful with understanding how to navigate the streets of Marrakesh and very proactive. It's bit of a walk to the main part of the souk but it's nice if you want to stay out of the main hustle of the medina. The food around the riad is excellent.

The riad is situated next to two other riads and one of the rooms was a bit noisy at night but I'm very sensitive to noise.

Nous tenons à remercier chaleureusement Ali, son épouse Jannat et sa sœur Rabiah pour la qualité exceptionnelle de leur accueil. Leur gentillesse est naturelle, sincère, et ils se plient littéralement en quatre pour le confort de leurs hôtes. Nous étions 10 adultes et 1 bébé, et tout a été parfaitement géré. Le riad est très confortable, calme, impeccablement tenu et idéalement situé pour découvrir Marrakech. Les petits-déjeuners et dîners pris au riad, entièrement faits maison, étaient délicieux, généreux et préparés avec soin. De l’organisation du transfert à l’arrivée jusqu’au retour à l’aéroport, tout a été fluide, sérieux et rassurant. En toute honnêteté, il n’y a rien à redire : vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés. Pour nous, le choix est désormais fait : nous avons trouvé notre lieu de séjour à Marrakech.

Owner met us from the taxi and showed us to the riad. Gave us the safety advice for Marrakesh and also gave us a phone with WhatsApp to speak to her whenever we needed which was fab. We used the phone for the maps function too. Riad was clean, safe and pretty. Chose this place based on the reviews from other female groups (we hired the whole place) and I would definitely stay there again

We enjoyed a lot our staying at Ali's riad and appreciated the gorgeous design, good location and of course the hospitality he and his sister showed us. They were very open to help us with all we needed in the riad as well as with reccomendations. We even had a one day trip to Essaouira organized with the help of Ali and his driver. The riad is well located, closed to the main attractions, in an vibrant area. The breakfast was good, diversified each morning. The riad has 5 rooms, each with a different traditional design. Everything was clean, bed was big enough and comfortable. I have also liked that the bathroom was very spacious. It was overall a beautiful experience.

This hotel was like a Moroccan dream to us, as fetched from One thousand and one night. To be able to escape into this shelter from very busy alleys crowded with people made our stay so peaceful, espacially as we were travelling with small kids. The host couple made all to fulfill all our needs and spent time with us in order to deepen our understanding of the country we were visiting. The breakfast was abundant and adapted to our wishes. I truelly recommend a stay, it will be a beautiful memory and enrichen any journey !

Excellent and central location . Very clean and comfortable. Each room had an en-suite bathroom (with shower). Excellent and very substantial breakfast prepared fresh daily. Ali the property manager was so helpful and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and tours.

The Moroccan traditional touch made it so ambient and made our stay worthwhile. Everything in the property was so well thought and organised. The breakfast was 10/10 and free wifi! The host always made us the most special Moroccan tea which we loooooved. The host predicted every single need of their guests and had it all ready for us. Such a beautiful place with terrace, courtyard and a kitchen.

The property was spectacular! Every room and bathroom was beautifully decorated, with so much attention to detail. We especially loved the traditional tiles, the peaceful little fountain in the center of the riad, and the rooftop terrace. Out of all the places we stayed during our travels through Morocco, this was by far our favorite. The host was incredibly kind, welcoming, and flexible. Always ready to help with anything we needed. We would 100% recommend this place and would love to come back one day!

Our stay at Dar Al Hayat was fantastic. The customer service from Ali and the team was exceptional and the Riad itself was amazing. Take the breakfast option, which we had served on the roof terrace. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Ali and Radia were very kind. They answered and solved everything we needed. (dinner, map, sim card, excursions, transfers ...) The place is very quiet, with little birds singing in the morning, but near the streets, in the medina, with all the mess. And it is very easy to get to the place. We began every day with an excelent breakfast.

A lovely, recently refurbished riad in a great location - easy access to all the sights across the Medina. Super comfortable en suite rooms with great facilities. Ali and Janet are exceptional hosts, kind, gracious and generous. Nothing is too much trouble. Excellent breakfast is worth booking too.

Everything in the place prepared for us was perfect; cleanliness, peace and quiet, excellent food, help at every step and the incredible hospitality of Ali and his family!

Everything was wonderful, from start to finish. Ali and Janet were fantastic hosts - great communication and nothing was too much trouble. The riad is beautifully renovated, quiet, and has everything you need. It's within walking distance (20mins) of most of the major attractions. Breakfasts on the terrace were fabulous. Wifi worked well. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Dar Al Hayat.

We were 2 families that we visited together Marrakech and we shared this Riad. We had 5 rooms en-suite for our own. It was unique. You could watch the stars from our yard and the rooftop was the highlight. Ali and his sisters were friendly and easily available online for anything we needed

This house and the hosts are absolutely wonderful!! The riad is BEAUTIFUL and perfectly located. But best of all are the hosts, Ali & Jannat. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, they took care of anything and everything. They arranged personalized guided tours for us (walking around the Medina and the souks, Setti Fatma and hiking, etc.) and handled all the communications (since we speak neither Arabic nor French!) Ali came to the house any time we had a tour, just to walk us through the maze of alleys to the taxis to make sure we found our drivers. They were available by phone anytime we had a question about anything. And all of this service was included in the price of the riad - it's just how they take care of their guests. I am someone who would normally plan everything on my own, but in a country where i didn't speak the languages I would have been totally lost without them! They made our trip so easy. Of course if it is your preference to be completely independent and left alone, that is an option! And the home cooked meals!! For a modest price, Ali's sister Radia will cook amazing meals for you! We ate breakfast on the rooftop patio every single day. The table was set like a fancy restaurant, the food was delicious. We ate four traditional Moroccan dinners at the house. AND, we spent one evening getting a cooking lesson from her! She taught us how to prepare 3 different appetizers and a tagine. This was so much fun. We got to know Ali and Jannat quite well. When they stopped by we would all linger just to talk and get advice. Without them, the riad would be a very pretty house... with them, it felt like our home away from home. One day Jannat even spent time outside with our children while they played with the local cats! I consider Jannat a friend and we've kept in touch. When you reserve this home you will get much more than lodging - you are gong to receive local hospitality beyond compare.

The Riad is very conveniently located for all the things we wanted to do. The traditional decor is fabulous, every room is en-suite, there is fully furnished roof terrace too and there really isn’t anything else you could want from this beautifully restored property. Ali and his family were extremely kind, informative, helpful and thoughtful. The breakfasts were sumptuous! Wi-fi is excellent. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay in Marrakesh. The city is vibrant, chaotic, fascinating and safe; everyone we met was kind and helpful. Thoroughly recommend!!!

If there was the tiniest niggle it was that the beds were a bit firm, but I guess that is personal just preference.

I had booked this place after reading the reviews on Booking.com and I was not disappointed! I stayed at the Riad for 5 nights along with my family and a friend, and it was a stay to remember for us. Our request for early check in was accommodated by the host (Ali and Jannat) who very kindly arranged the transfer to and from the airport. Greeted us and explained all the facilities at the reception. The Riad is beautifully done and Ali and Jannat made our stay really comfortable. Although I booked all my activities via GYG, Ali was very helpful in liaising with the the activity providers to confirm the time and pick up locations. Ali also sorted a SIM card for me on request. Breakfast was very delicious, but unfortunately the cook at the Riad was on holiday and hence lunch and dinner could not be catered to us. The Riad is located in the Old Medina area with narrow lanes, but that should not put you off and that is old medina for you. There are restaurants around the riad that suits all budgets - you also have a Carrefour supermarket just 10 mins walk from the riad. All in all - a great place to stay and I recommend this place for your visit to Morocco!

It’s inside the medina and a bit crowded before you can get to the property but I guess it’s not their fault. It’s the nature of what Marrakesh is as a city ..

Morocco was made all the more magical by the welcome we received from Ali, Jannat and their family at Riad Al Hayat. A lot of love and attention to detail has created an oasis of calm with high spec bedrooms and gorgeous communal spaces. I would highly recommend eating at the Riad - we had some lovely food during our trip but home cooked meals at the Riad surpassed them all! The Riad itself is very central with everything you may want to see in Marrakech accessible by walking. Ali provides a service organising guided tours and adventures - we arranged all our activities this way and had great fun while feeling very safe and returned home knowing we’d made the most of our four day trip. I would absolutely recommend Riad Al Hayat to anybody visiting Marrakech! ❤️

This place is probably one of the best places you could stay in. Anywhere. Period. And while the riad is really, really nice, what made the stay that much better was Ali and his family that manage the house. These people will make you feel like you are in a 5 star hotel. They create such a good and friendly atmosphere. They will help you anyway possible with anything you need. I can't say enough good things about this family. Now about the riad itself - it is completely renovated, everything is decorated tastefully. It is spotless clean. Everything you need is provided. Beds are big and comfy. There is a full kitchen if you want to use it. Close by are shops are good places to eat out. The souks are 10 mins away by foot. If you have the time, make sure to try the food the riad provides. I guarantee you will not regret it. Thank you Ali and family for one of the best experiences we ever had! Stay the way you are.

The riad is absolutely fantastic, quiet and beautiful place, a place you can relax and calm down after getting through bustling streets and corners of Marrakech Medina. Our hosts, Ali and Jannat, are probably one of the most kind people we ever met! They did everything and more so we feel as at home, as a part of family even. Big big THANK YOU! :) Riad has everything you'd like to have including rooftop terrace for evening chillout (mornings were still too cold), fully equipped kitchen, TV (if you need one during holidays) and centrally located living room/meeting space. With a fountain ;) Plus you can order breakfast served along with delicious mint tea :)

Really hard to find but if any, maybe sometimes we felt we could use a dish washer but it's not that inconvenient after all. We ate mainly outside.

The owners Ali and Janette were so friendly and helpful and really made us feel so welcome and safe . Would stay here again in a heartbeat .

Just beautiful....Ali and Janet were the perfect hosts and looked after us so well. We were six friends and took over the whole exquisite Riad. The rooms were so comfortable, luxurious and spotless. We left all our concerns behind the moment we stepped inside, met by our lovely hosts and served mint tea around the fountain while they gave us really helpful info on Marrakech. We ate supper on the roof terrace on the first night and it was wonderful, delicious and so lovely to sit under the stars. I had fish with preserved lemons while friends had lamb tagine. It was so plentiful and melt in the mouth. Ali's sister is the cook and created the most incredible breakfasts too with omelettes, pancakes, fruit, jams, teas, good coffee, breads. We lacked for nothing. A great location meant we were a stone's throw from all the main sights but hidden down a quiet back street, where tranquility reigned through the large wooden door. Decor, comfort, awesome bathrooms, big beds, roof terrace were all just perfect. Thank you. It felt such a safe comfortable home to return to after a busy day. Janet was a great help in planning our itinerary too. All fabulous, thank you!

Our hosts set a kind and gracious tone for our visit from the start. Ali and Jeanette were there to meet us, show us the property, make suggestions, and provide us tips to get the most out of our Marrakech experience. The riad was wonderful. It was comfortable, clean, well-located, and beautiful. We also really enjoyed the breakfasts and dinner we had during our stay. We ate on the rooftop which was a great way to start the day. The meals were excellent! I don't give high scores easily, but I have to say this was an outstanding place to stay and I would VERY HIGHLy recommend it. Not just for the riad itself but for the genuine kindness and hospitablity of our hosts.

This was the perfect place to stay for our trip as a group of 6. The riad is incredibly clean and every room is gorgeous. It is very spacious and has three different "common" areas, including a gorgeous rooftop which is the star of the show. An evening up there with a cool drink is divine. The bedrooms are all excellent and very nicely designed, with good air conditioning units and sizeable bathrooms. There is also a well equipped kitchen. The location is perfect if you want to explore - it is on the edge of the walled Medina city, so it is easy to both explore the Medina and the outer city. It is a great way to get a flavour for the authentic city. Our host, Ali, went above and beyond in every way. You could not find a more accommodating owner.

There was nothing not to like about the riad. If you want a quiet stay then this isn't the right neighbourhood, but once you are in the riad it is very peaceful and barely any noise.

The experience at Ali's riad was amazing. We were welcomed in the best way with a delicious green tea and he immediately took care to explain everything we needed to know about Marrakech (places to visit, traditional and non-traditional restaurants, etc.) The riad is fabulous, there were 9 of us and the rooms (for 2/3 people each) were spacious and clean, all equipped with air conditioning. We were lucky enough to also eat a couple of delicious traditional Moroccan dinners and breakfasts at the riad, lovingly prepared by Ali's sister. My advice: if you plan to visit Marrakech this Riad is the place for you!

Dar Al Hayat is a home away from home due to Ali and Jeanette's overwhelming sense of care, kindness, and passion that they have dedicated into making the riad a truly wonderful experience of what Morocco has to give. The riad has been beautifully renovated with it keeping in tradition through the stunning decor, layout of the rooms (very convenient to have two bedrooms on the ground floor for easy accessibility), and the green oasis which was the highlight for us in the courtyard. In addition, Ali's young sister spoilt us with delicious dinner upon arrival, and the continental breakfast which was simply divine and celebrated Moroccan cuisine (e.g. the Moroccan pancakes are a must to try!). In addition, the riad was a quiet haven which complimented very well to the bustling of the main street (although less than a minute's walk away, could not be heard from inside the riad!). What made our experience even more worthwhile was the immensely heart-warming generosity that we received not only from the wonderful Louaya family but, the local residents, passerbys, and strangers who were always willing to help without having to ask! The key attractions are on average 15-minute walk (5-8 minute drive by taxi which was easy to book) which was always a delight to undertake since you are able to take in the great hospitality, uncover treasure troves (souks), have spontaneous talks which gave you a richer understanding of the place, and locate delicious eateries for your next feast. As our first trip to Marrakech, we cannot recommend Dar Al Hayat enough for giving us an authentic insight into what Morocco is... a place of life, love, and laughter! Our group of 9 had an amazing stay here at Riad Dar Al Hayat. Jeanette was fantastic, easily contactable, organised shuttles, gave us advice and also offered menus for us. Centrally located, the rooms are spacious and beautiful, bathrooms are stunning and the upstairs rooftop ticks all the boxes! Highly recommend this accommodation!

. Everything was perfect, design, cleanliness, location, absolutely everything. But most of all the owner Ali, who is a wonderful, warm, kind person... We felt very welcome. He organized everything we asked for, he waited for us on the street at two in the morning, escorted us to the taxi when we were leaving. The breakfast was also delicious. Thanks a lot, Ali. If I come back to Marrakesh, I will definitely stay here again.

The property was perfectly located and an oasis of tranquility in the bustle of the Medina. Ali and Jannat were amazing hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and they arranged tours and restaurants and gave great advice. The breakfasts were a total highlight for the kids with a good, plentiful selection , different each day. The rooftop dinner that was arranged on our first night was fantastic and a wonderful start to our trip. The rooms are all beautifully decorated and furnished, all with great shower rooms. Such a lovely place and lovely people.

This is one of the most, if not the most beautiful accomodation I have been to. The location is right in the medina and in spite of the busy streets outside, in the riad it stayed peaceful throughout the day and night. The owners are very nice and super helpful. For the price this place is an absolute steal.
