Lovely house clean tidy and spacious
Nothing
Helen was very welcoming, very thorough going through everything & showing us around! Her beautiful homemade scones, milk & butter in the fridge to get us started was a lovely gesture! The house was lovely, stunning views of Lough Derg, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay! The rooms are huge, it features a downstairs bedroom & a seat in the shower so very accessible! A great size utility too! The location was great, we were attending a wedding in Ashley Park & it's only 10mins from there, 10mins or so into nenagh town & 5mins from Dromineer Beach which Helen recommended to take a dip in & we thoroughly enjoyed!
The stairs, floorboards & doors were a little creaky at night, just to keep in mind if staying with little ones but only a minor thing!
The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 complete bathrooms. The location is great to visit the west part of Ireland. The best thing is the kindness and availability of Helen, one of the owners. I had a medical issue and she organised an appointment in a health centre nearby the house. Our stay there was unbeatable
Great property for a family holiday. Plenty of room and very welcoming hosts.
The few things we didn't like were really trivial.
Spent 3 nights at Barr an CHNOIC with my daughters, their husbands and 3 grandchildren The house is just beautiful, more than exceeded our expectations. The hosts were fab, meeting us at a time that suited us and explained everything.ie the key collection etc The house was spotless, kitchen fully equipped which was fantastic. Everything was thought of is terms of what you would need for cooking etc Utility room was fab as well The hosts left us a tin of home made scones, jam and even a bottle of wine in the fridge We will definitely be booking again for future family visits Thank you Helen & Margaret for such a lovely home and making us feel so welcome xx

The very warm welcome we received

This was self catering, so no breakfast, but there was a delicious, homemade apple pie. Thank you
Family of 9 stayed here (6 adults, 2 children and a toddler) and we all can’t speak highly enough of it. Hosts Helen and Margaret are so friendly and helpful, typical Irish, made us feel so welcome. Plus they live right beside the house so any problems would be sorted straight away. Homemade scones and a bottle of Prosecco on arrival which was a lovely touch. Also tea/coffee/milk/butter/jam waiting for us. House itself is very spacious, plenty of room for everyone and it has the most beautiful view over the lake. Very clean and even when we stripped the beds, the bedding underneath is super clean as well which is something I always look at. Also a very big garden. Great location to explore the lakes, not too far from Limerick City. 2 lovely places to eat called The Thatched Cottage and The Whiskey Still. The Thatch especially was amazing. Unfortunately it rained pretty much the entire time we were there but there’s an indoor activity centre only half an hour away which the kids loved. Trampolining, mini golf, bowling, soft play, lovely cafe, lots of those annoying claw machines which my daughter is obsessed with 🙈. All in all, we were very impressed with the house and location, and we’ll be recommending to all our friends.
Only thing I can think of is that the doors are very creaky, need some WD40 (anything to keep the kids asleep 😁)
A very warm welcome and it seemed they really care about their house and maintain it exceptionally well. Great Communication.
Nothing as such. Everything was so smooth.
Location very scenic, very quiet, 10 minute drive to town. Host gave recommendations for Restaurants and taxi providers.

We had a family wedding in the Ashely Park Hotel in Nenagh, the house was ideal as it is very close to the Ashley Park Hotel (less than a 10 min drive) and there was 8 of us so was a great price and location. The local bus link passes by the house also. Helen and Margaret were amazing and made us feel so welcome and was always a text or phone call away. The peace and quiet looking out on Lough Derg was a bonus.
Nothing it was great. We will definitely be back
Friendly hosts. Lovely welcome. Clean, roomy house. Beautiful views. Sat out on the porch to see the sunset. Kids loved running around the garden.
Creaky floorboards upstairs.
Beautiful property with amazing views
Nothing, everything was great
It was super clean and the view was amazing
TV was hard to work
Good space; views of Lough Derg and close to Dromineer without being in Dromineer
Bedrooms a bit sparse of furniture and very little by way of paintings/ mirrors on walls of house
Space for four couples; all the conveniences, & useful things like dishwasher & washing machine capsules. Hosts very welcoming & available to sort any wrinkles.
Lovely house with great views. Lots of space outside. It was very clean.
It was a bit isolated for us. The kids loved the big garden but there is nothing within walking distance.
amazing location, beautifully kept, lovely hosts
nothing!
Beautiful location, the house is fantastic and a very relaxing place to stay. Both owners are so nice and very helpful + the complimentary scones and jam were delicious 😊 I would fully recommend and we'll most definitely be back.
Nothing to dislike
The property and its owners are outstanding. During a five night stay as a family group we couldn't have been in a better location or received better hospitality. From Helen meeting us on arrival, giving us "the tour" and the welcome pack till we waved goodbye on Sunday morning she was an absolute delight. Located on a hillside overlooking Dromineer, Lough Dergh each evening was spent on the full-width veranda watching the bats flying about as the sun set over the lake and the hills beyond - we even saw some shooting stars! Although in a very quiet location there's a local shop and pubs less than a mile away and everyone was really friendly. The accommodation itself easily coped with seven adults and a baby. There is an en-suite double bedroom on the ground floor which would be useful for anyone with mobility issues. There is always a shady spot to be found in the garden throughout the day.
The only improvement needed is to the Booking.com listing which says there is no parking available. In reality several cars could be comfortably parked at the property. Other than that we found Barr An Chnoic to be idyllic.
Location and views far beyond photo online, but not easy to find. However since it was best stay in Ireland worth it! Hosts were charming--delicious scones welcomed us! Sheep in the meadow, cows across the street! Views of Lough Derg in distance from front! Local nightlife wonderful and easy to get to highways for touring! Highly recommended!
