Fred was a great host. Property was lived in but comfortable. The location was fantastic and was used as a jumping off point for many day trips to Kilkenny and Waterford. The pub, Malzard's, was next door and was great for a pint or three after a long day.
If you're staying through on a weekend, the crowd from the pub can be loud especially in the summer when the windows are open. Not a problem, if you're prepared for it. Also, it could have used a few more seats considering the number of beds.
Hiša je lepo urejena, čista in ima, vse kar potrebuješ. Zelo prav sta nam prišla pralni in sušilni strok. V bližini je sicer pub z vrtom, a hrupa nismo slišali. Prijazen gostitelj nam je vse razkazal.
Vse je bilo OK.
My family and I stayed here for three nights as my brother was getting married in Mountain View. It was the perfect location, and Fred couldn't have been more helpful. He was the perfect host. The house is also beside the most amazing pub. Which was ideal for us for Day 2 of the wedding 😅 Location, 10 minutes from moutain view and 20 minutes from Kilkenny.
Nothing major, but black out blinds would be amazing. Though nothing my eye mask couldn't fix.
This property was self catering but had all the facilities you would need but we used a cafe across the way and had food there.
The house is located in the centre of a lovely village, next door to the Irish "Pub of the Year". Ideally located for visiting the nearby Mount Juliet estate, Kilkenny city and a number of nearby villages and places of historic interest. The host, Fred, was always in communication and was very friendly and helpful.
Location was great not too far from Kilkenny. Fred looked after any issues we had straight away and helped with the transport.
Friendliness of the host Fred, he was the best! Quiet and remote with nearby pub, restaurant, and store. The view outback was awesome! The bartender Garry was great next door! Fred made sure that we came back to Stoneyford, and our fireplace was lit, and our accommodations were warm and cozy. There were a few minor issues that were IMMEDIATELY rectified by the host Fred. We really were very happy with how he handled those.
Absolutely fabulous
We loved our stay at Stoneyford! Fred, our host, invited us to the pub next door (which he also owns) and immediately helped us order dinner from the takeaway across the street. He made us feel like we were a part of the community, and gave us great suggestions on things to do in the area! The house was extremely clean and spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a slice of "real" Ireland - it was a quick drive to Kilkenny, Kells Priory, Jerpoint Glass, and Waterford.
Honestly, the only thing we didn't like is that we couldn't stay longer!
We loved the location, the house and the pub next door. Great town, fun friendly staff. Fred, the host was super accommodating, friendly, helpful and made us feel right at home. Geroid the bartender was outstanding. Will definitely recommend this spot to our fellow travelers. Thank you Fred, staff and locals for a great time. Slainte
We loved everything.
Fred was very helpful and the house was very clean. We stayed for 2 nights and were very happy
The Host Fred was very helpful with everything we needed or requested was round in minutes to help, clean towel extra kitchen appliances anything we needed at any time he was very happy to help lovely guy even booked again on departure was a lovely home from home
Very spacious house for 5 of us
There is a little travel involved to Kilkenny but once you are ok with that, it is grand
Great location, hosts and right beside a nice pub.
House was not very warm. We did not try to use the log fire.
We attended a 2 Day wedding in mountain view and we stayed at Fred's house in Stoneyford Village. 10 min drive to the wedding venue. Arranged for local taxi to pick us up. Very comfortable house with cozy beds. Pub next door for drinks. Village also has a shop for breakfast supplies and a local cafe.
Great house that was not far from the wedding we were attending Mountain view. Clean and spacious in the center of Stoneyford. Our host who also has the pub next door couldn't have been more helpful. The down stair bedroom and bathroom looks like it had been recently updated.
Lovely house spotlessly clean Fred was very welcoming and a lovely few goodies left for our use the pub next door was a great spot for a few drinks and to meet people would definitely go back again
Our host Fred has been a super host making every effort to make our stay pleasent and easy. He responded very quickly to any enquiries we had. He had even bought water, cookies, milk and butter for us beforehand! The house is spacious with big rooms and comfortable beds with good mattresses. The house is very nice and clean, the towels super soft and all it all it suited the purpose of having a good and cozy time perfect. It was always possible to park the car right outside. Eventhough the road is right outside the windows, there’s not a lot of traffic noise. Stoneyford is a very small village, yet it still has a lovely pub right next door (Fred’s pub), a take away place with an elaborate menu and a very little grocery store with the essentials for simple meals. We were told there’s also a lovely cafe but unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to visit it this time. We give Fred’s Stoneyford Village our best recommendations.
As an idea to improving the stay, it would be nice if there were electrical plugs in the bathrooms for using hairdryers. it would also be nice if there was some sort of a small coffee table by the sofa in the living room. Those are minor details because all in all it’s a great place!
