The front door had a new lock that needed a wee adjustment, took nothing away from the stay though, just made sure to tell Margaret

中国同胞避雷！千万别来！这家旅店对中国客人表现的态度非常傲慢和无理，在邮件沟通的时候采取完全不屑的方式对待。这让我很不满意，我对此多次邮件与其沟通，并在最后置之不理！在我此行所有与酒店的沟通中，这是我唯一收到的最不礼貌的沟通！国人避坑！咱们出来玩不找气受！

灶台前的窗子没有窗帘，很不方便，晚上开灯外边可以看到屋内！晚上室外是真黑！却缺一个窗帘！

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026We loved our stay. Margaret was super welcoming and helpful. Lovely quite spot with lots of outdoor space, deck - beautiful for watching the stars at night. The cottage was very clean, roomy living area with comfy couches/chairs. Would definitely stay here again.

Reviewed Jun 8, 2026A wonderful stay in Twizel! The cottage was cozy, comfortable, and had a very homely atmosphere. Margaret was warm, friendly, and took the time to explain everything about the property to us. We felt very welcome and had a great experience throughout our stay.
One thing to note is that having a car is highly recommended, as the property is not easily accessible without your own transportation.

Reviewed May 19, 2026Very comfortable stay with great hosts. Spacious with good furniture and all required utensils. A lovely spot in Twizel.
Sadly, the only thing that went against this property was the shower. After a hard cold day a nice shower is what you really need and the shower in this property was a let down to say the least. What a shame because all other aspects , including the lovely hosts, Margaret and Peter, were top shelf.

Reviewed Mar 21, 2026Lovely location just a few minutes from central Twizel. Clean and comfortable with everything you could need. A full kitchen and washing machine. Comfortable sofa and relaxing chairs in lounge and bed really comfy.
It’s an observation only really in that the property is up for sale but does need some things updating which I can appreciate you wouldn’t do if you’re not going to be there for long. The fridge is yellowing, the washer is a top loader but all clean and perfectly useable.

Reviewed Dec 15, 2025A gorgeous cottage set behind a massive stone gate on acreage, on the outer edge of Twizel township. The cottage was actually quite large, with very comfortable furnishings. The hot water system definitely needed explanation, but worked just fine! In the morning, it was bright and peaceful enough just to stroll the property in the quiet. Very relaxing!
The nearby neighbours decided that the afternoon of our stay was also their time to fell and cut up some of their pine trees, creating an amount of intrusive chainsaw noise. But this was fairly short-lived, and quiet soon resumed.
