Not the cleanest we'd stayed in. Difficult to get hold of the host (when we had an issue with our booking) and no reception.

Making our own bed and being told to strip it before departure felt very cheap, and as one of the road tunnels was closed getting there from the airport we arrived at midnight and last hang you felt like was battling with a doona cover. Very ikea style cabin, with bare minimum spent on interiors and amenities. Basic accommodation at a high price. Terrible instructions on how to find the cabin with a message via booking.com saying ‘new cabin with no number or name on the cottage’ and a photo of the cabin to help us find it. We had to wake up staff as the instructions were so poor amd despite best efforts and a long time looking for it. The staff member drove us out of the village hub up the road so we’d never have found it! A bit confusing … Value was terrible compared to next night at stunning stylish cabin at Nussfjord which was half the price and 100 times nicer with beautiful inviting made beds …. Felt strongly this was a big money making operation and felt over charged and annoyed with the linen. Close to $400 a night and you make your own bed. Location was brilliant. But Nussfjord cabins different level to A Hammas.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2026An incredible cabin built in a classic, traditional boathouse style right on the sea. The panoramic view from the living room was absolutely breathtaking! The cabin itself is very spacious, featuring 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Parking is very convenient right next to the cabins. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the shower water pressure was great. Overall, a wonderful stay that I would highly recommend!
The only downside was having to put on the bed linen yourself upon arrival and strip it before check-out.

Reviewed Sep 6, 2026It is a red wooden cabin on stilts on the water, typical of that area. Cute historical looking on the outside, with all modern amenities and comforts inside. It has 2 small bedrooms, each with 2 single beds. and good size living room with kitchen annex and a nice sofa, coffee table. and a dining table. It has a coffee machine, coffee filters, a dishwasher was a nice bonus. Dishwasher tablets were provided too. The cooker was working but was complicated to work out (More on that in the ('What I didn't like' part). Overall we had a wonderful stay. The place was worm. Had cute electric heaters that worked and did a good job. Bathroom had a nice shower with planty of hot water. There is a sheet with instructions hanging on the wall above the blue IKEA bag with bedding linen. I originally missed it but once I've reread the property booking message it was sitting there on the wall. I contained usuful information, some instructions, warnings and wifi info. We didn't (need to) see any staff. But when I wrote a message to the property asking for something, they replied promptly and politely. But I think if you needed to see them their office is located just a short walk away from the cabin.
There were two things that not so much we didn't like but which need improvement. The first one, the wifi - we didn't really need it as we're Polish so we had free EU roaming data (basically our own mobile internet) but when we connected it was fine for like 5 or 10 minutes and then it would disconnect and reconnect. It was not stable and kept breaking so we gave up on it. As I said, we didn't really care and didn't report it, but if you need a decent wifi, perheps you should enquire beforehand if they can provide it. The second thing - again - we had managed but ideally should be improved - is the operation of the cooker. It would make things easier if there were some instructions how to operate it. Sometimes it worked just fine. Other times it took a long time. We were not sure why and what we were doing wrong. And there is this extra protection alarm above it. It was all a little bit confusing. Let me stress that neither if these two things have affected my rating of the property. We had a great stay and are grateful. But an inprovement would make things smoother.

V našej chatke bol problém s vchodovými dverami. Museli sme ich stále zamýkať, lebo bez toho sa nedali normálne zavrieť. Trochu sa nám nepáčilo, že sme si museli navliecť a vyzliecť posteľné prádlo, ale dá sa to prežiť.

Depending on the price I did not expect dust under the bed. You could put a little more thought in the cleanliness of the hole house.

Reviewed Sep 2, 2026Beautiful location with nice views! Our cabin looked out over the ocean which was so nice. It is a historic cabin so not a very large space but it was very clean and cozy. You have to make the bed yourself and strip the linens prior to leaving which on googling is typical for stays in a rorbouer. The beds were very comfortable and overall a very well appointed cabin. Would recommend staying here if you want the rorbouer experience and some gorgeous views!

To stara i mocno śmierdząca chata rybacka. Skrzypiąca podłoga i piszczące zamki w drzwiach skutecznie cie obudzą jeśli ktoś pójdzie w nocy do łazienki. Łóżka stare i bardzo wąskie. Samemu trzeba ubrać pościel i potem zdjąć.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Wir hatten eines der beiden neuen cabins etwas an der Seite gelegen. Tolle Aussicht und moderne fast luxuriöse Ausstattung. Gut ausgestattete Küche. Grosse Terrasse, geniale Dusche von Grohe, genug Platz für 3 Personen, evtl auch 4. Betten weich wie oft in Norwegen aber nicht durchgelegen sondern einfach soft. Ruhig, viel Privatsphäre. Gute Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter, Parkplatz direkt am Haus.
Nur Kleinigkeiten: etwas wenig Möglichkeiten für Jacken und Kleidung aufzuhängen, ein Toaster wäre noch gut gewesen.

Avremmo apprezzato se ci fosse stato un letto matrimoniale e non 4 letti singoli. Ma ci siamo comunque adatti.

Per quello che costa mi sembra assurdo dover fare i letti e soprattutto che sia disponibile un solo asciugamano per persona

Abbiamo apprezzato la pulizia perfetta di tutti gli ambienti e la posizione immersa in un'atmosfera magica. La cena a Brygga Restaurant è stata perfetta “come una poesia”

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026Il Rorbuer è molto spazioso e suggestivo, l'ambiente è curato e la posizione è molto bella (direttamente sul mare)! La casa è fornita dell'essenziale ed ha un comodo parcheggio. Consigliato!
Eravamo in due e ci sono stati forniti solo due asciugamani, consiglierei all'host di darne due per ogni ospite. Inoltre, anche se per noi non è stato un problema, per alcuni ospiti potrebbe risultare scomodo dover fare e poi disfare i letti.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026I stay in a lot of hotels and this one somehow was the worst. I advise you DO NOT stay here. The property is poor and run down especially for the price. It's much smarter to stay in the towns before reine.
The quality of the room is very run down with no support from the staff. In a 100 countries of travelling this is one I regret the most.

Reviewed Aug 20, 2026Belle cabane, spacieuse et confortable, très propre, au coeur d'un village animé. Bien équipée pour cuisiner. Salle de bain avec douche super agréable. Une petite épicerie à 1 minute à pieds qui dépanne bien. Super emplacement pour découvrir les environs de Reine.
Seul petit regret, nous n'avions pas vue sur la mer, ce à quoi nous nous attendions avec ce type d'hébergement. Mais la vue sur la place principale du village était sympa aussi.

Die Wohnungen sind extrem klein. Es gab keine Möglichkeiten die Koffer auszupacken geschweige denn Platz für einen Schrank, so dass wir die Koffer die ganze Zeit im Wohnzimmer/Küche liegen hatten. Die Aussicht war ok, der Blick auf die alte Fischfabrik hat diese jedoch etwas getrübt. Für die Durchreise ganz ok

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026We had one of their two new cabins which we were very happy about because they have a wall of windows looking out at the sea. The location is stunning. Place was clean and beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed for a great stay.
I didn’t love that we had to make the beds and gather all the linens before departure, it’s a small thing I know. The stairs to the loft could be problematic to some. They are incredibly narrow and the treads are short so they aren’t easy to negotiate, but it wasn’t an issue for us. Lastly, the property could have been tidier. It didn’t bother us, but I’m sure some would be unhappy about building materials lying about.
