Reviewed Sep 1, 2026A truly peaceful and memorable stay in Anuradhapura. Serene Homestay is exactly what the name suggests . quiet, comfortable, and welcoming. The place was clean and well maintained, and the surroundings were calm and relaxing, making it a perfect escape after exploring the city. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel genuinely at home. Everything was arranged with care, and the hospitality was excellent. If you’re looking for a comfortable, peaceful place to stay in Anuradhapura with warm hospitality, I would definitely recommend Serene Homestay. Would happily stay here again! 🌿✨

Reviewed Jul 11, 2025Жильё находится в тихом месте, всё чисто, отдельная гостиная и спальня. Кухня за доплату (500 рупий в сутки), но мы справились без неё, есть холодильник, вода питьевая. Хозяева радушно нас встретили, несмотря на очень позднее заселение. Огромное спасибо!
Поставить водонагреватель. Так- то вода теплая, но голову помыть хотелось бы более горячей. Минусом является наличие лающих собак в округе, которые повылазили из всех дыр, пока мы шли пешком 3, 5 км с чемоданом ночью, хотя днем они тоже постоянно лают, как только увидят иностранца.

Reviewed Aug 1, 2024We had a really nice time in this house. It was really clean and close to the main city. You can easily get a Tuktuk for like € 6 to the main areas. The owners were really sweet and offered us tea. The shower was really cool, felt like I was under a waterfall. Definitely will visit for a longer trip next time. I recommend.

Only one room was air conditioned. The way home is bit difficult as it is an unpaved, narrow and sandy road.

Kitchen stuff is good and included all the equipment and can be use with some extra charge. Rooms were very clean, tidy and spacious. Overall, everything was perfect and stayed for 2 days.

We paid the extra 500 to use the kitchen as we miss cooking sometimes while longterm travelling, the facilities were great, has everything you need at a really reasonable price! Very close to ancient ruins just down the main road.

A calm and quiet area, however, it is a little bit out of town. there were no disturbances. Owners are really helpful and they do their best to help you. Owner guides us over the phone and his wife waiting corner of the road to show the location because Google Map location ends 200M to 300M before the location. You can use the kitchen by paying additional Rs. 500 and the kitchen has almost everything. (Gas, gas stove, refrigerator, rice cooker, filter water & etc) Newly built Homestay almost everything is new.
We asked from the owner before we come weather they provide mosquito nets. At the time we stay there are no mosquito nets. So we bought one. If you have kids pls bring one if they not provide it. After our stay we request them to have mosquito nets. It's difficult to find the location. Serene Homestay located end of the narrow road but your family vehicle can reach there. There wasn't name board in December 2022.

Only drawback was that there wasn't a name board along the way. It was a little bit difficult to find the way at first but Google maps will show you the way to doorstep.

It's a marvelous place to unwind from the busy city though it is within a few kms of all the historical sights should you wish to visit. I had a lovely rest from my on going bicycle tour.
