Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Stayed for a couple nights with friends. Absolutely lovely house with cozy living-dining area and fabulous kitchen. Perfect for a weekend skiing trip to Whakapapa Village, with a near by shuttle bus available.
Unfortunately the hot water did run out after 7 morning showers and then only 3 people evening post-ski showers which wasn't great when the weather (and thus water) was very cold. We did also arrive to an ice cold house, though it did heat up well after 12 hours.

Reviewed Jan 31, 2026Best shower I’ve ever taken, great water pressure. Large shower, heated bathroom floor. TV channel selection is limited, but there is a great selection of DVD’s. The carport was nice to have as it rained a lot. Only drawback was that the bed was too soft. The owners were very helpful with any problems.

Some toiletries like shampoo would have been very helpful. There were some sharp edges along the metal strips around the kitchen area.

Reviewed Aug 9, 2025The house was modern and very comfortable for both our families; plenty of room for all. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and lounge room, house was toasty and warm. The underfloor heating in the bathrooms was a huge plus for us! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Perfect location to Whakapapa ski fields.
Nothing in particular, but a spa/hot tub would have been nice.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2025The perfect holiday house. Was warm and spacious for multiple families. The kitchen was well stocked and the house had everything we needed to enjoy our days up at Whakapapa. Loved the drying racks in the laundry and my kids thought having a TV in their room was incredible.

Reviewed Mar 11, 2025It was awesome for our group of 8 to have four bedrooms and two bathrooms equally shared. The kitchen and lounge was great to relax in and the house was so handy to do the Tongariro Crossing from.
Beds had quite bad roll together so we had to use the child's bed as well which as also a bit saggy.

Reviewed Nov 20, 2024Nice location. House is spacious. Good amenities. Owners are friendly and helpful. House is cosy and warm. Has a gas fireplace and heaters throughout. Gas boiler for instant hot water. If the water turns cold, let it run for some time.
1 mattresses was very soft, not much support. The rest of the beds were fine. If you're a smoker, this property is not for you. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property, yard included. Check-in is 4pm or later.

Reviewed Apr 7, 2024What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. We couldn’t fault it. From the moment you walk in, it just feels like a home. So much space, massive kitchen and that fireplace is such a nice addition to the home. Bathrooms have underfloor heating, the house was clean, tidy and warm and was just super comfortable to stay there. Wish we stayed longer!

Reviewed Apr 4, 2024The house is very new, extremely beautiful, and spacious. Each bedroom is very comfortable, with excellent mattresses and bed sheets. The hot water for showering is also very good. Previously, due to insufficient balance on the payment card, the host proactively contacted me and was very patient. The location of the house is also excellent, very close to the ski resort and the hiking trails. Overall, our group of three families is extremely satisfied with this accommodation. Highly recommended.

Reviewed Feb 1, 2024Fantastic location. The partial Mountain View allowed easy monitoring of the best weather moments for hiking. High quality sheets on the bed and bathroom was clean with good water pressure and on demand hot water. Large movie library and comfortable living room furniture that was great for waiting out bad weather.
The kitchen was not very clean when we arrived and the garbage disposal smelled foul. Overall this house has been nicely equipped but has been used really hard. It is in need of a deep clean and refreshing some of the more worn items.

Reviewed Nov 26, 2023It was very warm and cosy, instructions were clear and everything was easy( key location, heater instructions, dishwasher etc). Very easy location to find, close to a very well equipped 4sq.
We were coming to walk Tongariro and within the last day or 2 the Mountain was closed, due to 100km wind gusts! We would have liked to move or increase our stay, but as we didn’t know this until after the free cancellation 7 days passed when contacting the owners the response was a generic -No Free cancellation after 7 days. Would have good to have some ability to adjust dates due to the weather. Did walk to the Tama Lakes which were an awesome walk. Also we only had 1 towel each.

The beds were too soft for 3 of the 6 of us, roll together and sore backs. I slept on the floor the first night wrapped in a duvet, the couch the 2nd night and used a bunk bed mattress [which was lovely and supportive thanks] the 3rd night.

Spacious and child friendly with TV, games, videos, books. Comfortable lounge with gas fire and extra heaters if required. Well presented property, easy to locate and close to all Mountain activities. Our UK visitors didn't want to leave.

If there was 1 thing that could be better would be the outside bins to be a bit bigger as we had to leave some recycling outside of the bins as they were full. Other than that.. we loved everything
