Cottage at Youghal Bridge

A deep clean is needed, we did not use the oven as it was not clean . The floors need a good clean because if you walked on them with bear feet you needed to wash your feet.

Clean and comfortable.

Access and parking was difficult due to position and proximity to heavy traffic coming off the bridge. Was a difficult to get in and out at times.

Las vistas y la comodidad de la casa por dentro. Ha sido una estancia muy agradable Y en un sitio espectacular.

La carretera pero contabamos con ella Y no ha sido un gran problema. El wc Y la cocina en al limpieza si que dejaban mucho que desear, sin embargo el resto estaba impecable.

The views are spectacular and although near a busy road it’s soundproofing is brilliant. Very clean and we had all we needed for perfect stay

House was perfect for a short stay. Great we could bring our dog but we could not walk on the busy road so had to drive and take taxis a lot.

The garden could be cleared out as there was rubbish and waste high weeds up the stepsz

Eigenlijk alles! Bedden, douche, keuken alles was compleet en goed verzorgd. Goed geslapen ook daar en prima uitvalsweg voor leuke dagjes uit. Oprit ging prima, paar keer steken en je staat weer met neus naar de poort. Het is even wennen, maar na 1ste lukt dat prima.

De weg het verkeer/geluid, maar ik had dat in eerdere reviews al gelezen. In de avond valt het redelijk stil, en we sliepen heerlijk!

Everything was clean and tidy. Beds were very comfortable. The facilities were brilliant with anything you might need. There was milk and beer in the fridge on our arrival and the owner kept in touch to check we were happy with everything.

The house itself is beautiful & in such a convenient location for great spots to visit around the place. Loved that it was dog friendly. Our dog loved sitting out the front taking in the views.

Convenient location. 5 minutes to shops by car. But note that it is on a major road so it gets noisy from passing cars. It doesn't bother us though so we were good with it. Complimentary beers and cookies!

As owner probably have a dog or allow pets they need to clean property better before next guests. I had to take antihistamines and my partner had to vacuum and wash the floors due to dog hair being everywhere (including bed throws). Heating setup is a bit unclear how to use.

Underfloor heating

The cottage is a perfect little base for gallivanting about. It was an easy drive to Waterford, Cork, Killarney, and Limerick. There were plenty of dishes, utensils, pots & pans, so it was easy to cook in. If you'd prefer to eat out, there's a truck stop diner a 5 minute walk across the bridge, or the city is a 5-10 minute drive with plenty of restaurants. The beds were comfortable, and there were lots of pillows. Even when it was quite cold and windy, the house was warm and snug.

As others said, there was noise from the road if you had the front windows open, but with them closed, it got much quieter. The driveway is a challenge to get into, especially if you're coming from the east.

Cottage was very clean. Location , although on a busy road was very peaceful and secure with fantastic views. Close to Youghal and near many beautiful spots for sightseeing and walks.

The outside space is limited so turning our SUV was a nightmare but you need to do this as the entrance is very narrow and leads straight onto a busy road. Our dog wouldn't go to toilet near the house so we had to walk down the road to the right with her which in the dark was daunting. Photos showed steps to a garden/ field but this was completely overgrown.

Its on a main road which is quite busy. The noise wasn't too intrusive, just something to be aware of if you are taking small kids.

The cottage was clean, well maintained and beds were comfortable.

The cottage is on a national road with speed limit of 100kms/hr and there is very heavy traffic including large Lorries 24hrs a day, during the summer months it’s impossible to open the windows day or night. We had our little dog with us and it was very easy for her to get out from under the main gate as it has foot or more of a gap from the ground.

A la part del darrere hi ha una entrada preciosa que porta cap al bosc, un lloc tranquil i agradable per passejar després de la jornada. És un espai ideal per a viatges de feina: hi ha molt bones connexions per arribar-hi i s’hi treballa de meravella gràcies a la tranquil·litat i al bon ambient. Les instal·lacions són més que correctes ,wifi ràpid, banys i habitacions còmodes i ben equipades, i l’amfitriona és molt resolutiva i encantadora, sempre disposada a ajudar en tot el que calgui.

Very warm and cosy cottage with lovely views across the River Blackwater to Youghal. Well equipped. We loved the Robin that sang to us all day. We didn’t find it too difficult to turn the car around in the driveway.

Sadly the cottage is so close to a main road so it is extremely noisy from 6.30 am to 8pm. However, we did sleep well. The bathroom was still showing evidence of the previous occupants. Outside areas small and concrete. No laundry facilities but these are available in Youghal.

Everything was perfect,beautiful views cozy bed spotlessly clean. We will stay here again if we are around. Thanks Eileen.

Das Haus ist klasse. Wir haben eine der beiden Matratzen aus dem „Kinderzimmer“ ins Schlafzimmer umgezogen. Dadurch konnte unsere Tochter bei uns schlafen und ihre Tante hatte ein Zimmer für sich. Die Ausstattung ist super.

Die Lage direkt an der Bundesstraße ist mit Kleinkind beim Einschlafen vor 21 Uhr schwierig. Danach fuhren so gut wie keine Autos mehr bis ca. 6 Uhr.

We loved the cosy and peaceful atmosphere of the cottage. The welcome pack of tea, milk and beer was so thoughtful. The host was very responsive and even checked on us by text message during our stay.

It was difficult to get taxis into/ out of the town so we walked. That said we weren’t organised enough to book ahead! It’s on a busy road but couldn’t hear it inside and we sat out both days taking in the views and it didn’t bother us. Couldn’t get the TV working so a smart TV might be helpful to log into your own apps

Would have benefited from a washing machine instead of dishwasher, but otherwise everything was good, mabye cut grass so garden could be used

Beautiful cottage, good location, we visited 3 different beaches on our short 3 nights stay. Eileen was very helpful and only a message away. We wiill be back again 🤞

This is very personal but there was a really strong smell of Dettol. Yes I know it meant it was spotlessly clean but dettol just reminded me and my sister of being sick as children!! Gates/drive extremely narrow to navigate car.

I think over all it was very nice. location is lovely but getting in the driveway and out in a jeep is a faff. you can drive in but can't reverse out as its a very busy road. So a 16 point turn in the garden is needed and its very tight. But its still a wonderful little cottage. Didnt stay the second night as the weather was shocking but that's cork and Southern Ireland

The location was superb. The perfect base for seeing the area. And the view out over the water was beautiful.

The driveway is a little narrow, so a big car might struggle to turn around. But it's a busy road, so you wouldn't want to reverse out.

The host Eileen checked in and made sure everything was good! Her husband met the airline delivery when my luggage didn’t arrive! It was very comfortable and a great location for day trips from there. The views from the windows were spectacular! Really loved it!

The road noise was a little loud, would recommend ear plugs.

We loved the views and it was the perfect size cottage for a short stay for a family of 4. Plenty of space. Wifi and chrome cast perfect for the kids in the evening. Communication with the owner was brilliant. No rush leaving on the last day which gave us time to get the kids moving!

It was a lovely location except for the busy road at the front. It wasn't safe to let the kids outside alone unfortunately and didn't feel we could sit out.

The place was very clean, we even had digestive cookies and a couple of beers waiting for us. Yea, coffee and milk all provided

What a great cozy comfy clean house. We had a great stay with our dog. Everything we needed was provided. House was warm plenty of hot water. We did bring our own fire wood and lit the stove it was bliss. Having a car is a necessity. Would highly recommend. Love the split front door !

The location and view from the cottage is stunning. There is loads to do with cycling the blue way from Dungarvan, the beach walk in Youghal and cliff walk in Ardmore. A really relaxing holiday with everything you need and lots of extras at the house, very comfortable and clean. I enjoyed reading one of the books from the selection that was there. Lovely outdoor area to sit and look out at the sea especially in the evening when the traffic dies down. I will definitely go back.

Really nothing I didn't like but just to have an awareness if travelling with a pet, a curious dog might jump the front wall onto the busy road if not fully supervised.

Loved it's location and the pure quaintness of the property for Eileen was an excellent host no matter what we wanted or needed she was at the other end of the phone..will be definitely using again

The property is very thoughtfully appointed, comfortable and clean. It’s quiet and a convenient drive to the Kilkenny, Kinsale and Cork areas.

An information booklet would be useful to quickly find the wifi code and instructions on using the heating etc.

The location was brilliant with amazing views. We were even left milk and beer in the fridge which was great. We brought our dog and it was great to have a fully closed in yard so he could be outside

This is the cutest little cottage just a short drive from Youghal. Elaine left us some lovely treats. The beds are comfy and the shower is great.

Spent a long weekend here visiting family , we arrived at 2am due too a late flight , we had arranged this with the owner and we thought it was lovely that she had left the outside and kitchen lights on for us ! Location was good - we were blessed with fine weather so we could take advantage outside of the spectacular view. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped.

Absolutely beautiful cottage in pristine condition just outside Youghal. Very helpful owner who dealt with queries promptly. Milk and beers in fridge was a lovely touch.

Cozy little cottage with all needed equipment, landlady is very friendly and obliging. As a family of 4 with 2 teenagers it was spacious enough.

The street is really close, so the cottage is perfect if you spend the day sightseeing. If you are looking for a place to get some rest during the day, you might feel disturbed.

Beautiful location and a lovely, clean cottage. This was our fourth visit and we’ll be back again. We highly recommend this cottage and Eileen is so lovely to deal with. A welcome pack is left for visitors which is a real treat especially if you’ve been travelling.
