Reviewed Sep 18, 2026When we turned up I have to admit I was slightly worried as it does look a bit run down. But we had the best stay. The owners are fabulous, The Forge Pub is amazing and the food was great. It is like stepping back in time, it reminds me of places I used to stay with my parents back in the 80’s. Breakfast was really good, yummy pancakes! If we return to Ireland we will definitely come back!
The only criticism was there was quite a lot of dog poo in the carpark. My father in law did step in some. But the dogs are lovely that live there!

They can’t do enough to make your stay better, the breakfast is freshly cooked the breakfast spread is top class you have everything you could possibly want. Can’t say enough about ballyglass only that we will be back

Reviewed Jul 22, 2026Sehr schöne gemütliche, urige und ruhig gelegene Unterkunft. Die Zimmer sind altadelig-plüschig eingerichtet mit modernen Badezimmern. Hat man sich von der bisherigen Reise erholt, kann man auch zu Abend essen und danach den Abend mit kühlen Getränken am Poolbillardtisch ausklingen lassen. Nach erholsamem Schlaf bestellt man im Frühstücksaal eine reichhaltige Option zum Essen. Auch vegetarische und vegane Alternativen stehen zur Verfügung. So konnten wir gut erholt und gestärkt unsere Reise fortsetzen. Die Gastgeber sind mit vollem Herzen Gastgeber und sehr bemüht, den Gästen eine schöne Zeit zu bereiten.
Da die Unterkunft schon älter ist, gibt es leider einige Spinnen in den Zimmern.

Reviewed Jun 23, 2026We didn’t actually get to stay there. So I’ve marked it poor. I have spoken to the host and explained the reason why. We tried for 20 minutes to get an answer from the front door but no answer. In the end we decided to leave as we needed accommodation for the night. The place didn’t quite look like the photos. The host apologised for the issues. I have tried to communicate with booking.com with regards to a payment being taken out from my bank but are having issues with actually talking to someone. Obviously I do not want to be charged for somewhere that I didn’t stay.

Reviewed May 31, 2026Ballyglass is a wonderful location, it is full of old fashioned charm and one of the few places that really has a feeling of true old Ireland. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous, staff were extremely accommodating and I will definitely be a return guest.
This a charming location, would appeal to people looking for something authentic with an appreciation for old Ireland appose to the bland modern hotel experience we get in large cities and towns.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable and spotless. They have a lovely little bar beside the house with an open fire serving great Guiness and food what more do you want.

Irgendwie fühlt man sich nicht so wohl hier. Eher veraltet, kleines Zimmer. Fenster sehr dreckig, Milch abgelaufen und sauer. Macht keinen Einladenden Eindruck. Das Personal konnte uns auch nicht ganz überzeugen.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Ballyglass is a magical place that shows the visitor a slice of true Irland that we all seek. A lovely farm with a grand entrance. The small pub was delightful,as we enjoyed a baby Christening party, the family adopted us and met up with us downtown for dancing,singing and revelry. As a bonus we cheered wildly as Tipperary won the National Hurling Championship the day after our visit. We were in Dublin for the match. We also loved the wonderful country breakfast.

Reviewed Oct 8, 2025This accommodation felt like a home away from home. There is a sign at reception saying "Enter as strangers, Leave as friends". This hotel is run by Ruth and her husband. Any time in their company is time well spent. I felt that I knew Ruth for years after my stay. Truly an exceptional host. Great breakfast...Very comfortable bed...great shower.....and the quaintest pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Couldn't recommend more. I know I'll be back.
